Zhang Yuan was drawn into Tan Chengcheng’s struggle against her brother Tan Yuming and helped her win the contest to govern Great Heng. The victory exposed the First God Cult’s plan to sacrifice the people, while Tan Chengcheng freed Zhang Yuan from the Immortal-Binding Rope.

• Wei Heng arrested Zhang Yuan for killing Lu Chaosheng, and Zhang Yuan agreed to go peacefully to the Heavenly Prison.
• The Mirror-Holding Armored Lord, Divine Master, asked Zhang Yuan about his destroyed incarnation, then enlisted him to disrupt True Lord Ceased Light Punishes Thoughts’s scheme and taught him “Manifest Divine Power Through the Weapon.”

• Zhang Yuan escaped the Golden Throne Hall with Xiao Yuanjun and Tan Chengcheng, then learned the Great Heng Empress wanted him as Tan Chengcheng’s Imperial Son-in-Law.
• Tan Chengcheng revealed that the emperor, empress, and five royal children were parts of the First Ancestor, and Zhang Yuan agreed to help her in exchange for her support later.
• Zhang Yuan infiltrated the First God Cult’s initiation, placed first in its examination, and was named Candidate Holy Son with Xiao Yuanjun and Tan Chengcheng as his attendants.
