Kukulu was furious, his little cheeks puffed up like steamed buns. Just as he was about to explode, Professor Xia Mu's voice came from outside the door. "An'an, who are you talking to?"
In an instant, Kukulu and Camellia hid themselves or turned back into dolls. An'an blinked, momentarily stunned. Professor Xia Mu had already entered the room, scratching his head. "An'an, who were you chatting with just now?"
An'an snapped back to her senses. "Ah, huh? No one! I was talking to myself. Ha... ha... I'm His Highness the Prince! Where do you think you're running? Ha... ha..."
Professor Xia Mu said nothing more and smiled fondly. "All right. Get some rest soon, An'an."
In her dream, An'an saw someone with his back to her. As she drew closer, her face lit up with delight. "Wang Ke! Wang Ke!"
Wang Ke turned around and smiled. "What is it, An'an?"
An'an saw him holding a pot of Camellia Flowers, and a blush instantly bloomed on her cheeks. "Wang Ke, are those Camellia Flowers a gift for someone?"
Wang Ke smiled gently. "Yes. I'm giving them to someone very important."
"Someone very important~" An'an turned away, cupping her cheeks and fidgeting bashfully, as though terribly embarrassed.
"I'm giving this Camellia Flower plant to my grandmother."
"Huh? Your grandmother?" An'an's bashful manner vanished in an instant.
A trace of sadness settled over Wang Ke's face. "It's almost my grandmother's birthday. When they were young, my grandfather often said she was as beautiful and graceful as a Camellia Flower. Now that he's gone, I hope she can still receive her favorite flowers on her special day."
Tears streamed down An'an's face, and she couldn't hide her disappointment. "Oh, so they're not for me."
"An'an, An'an, An'an?"
An'an looked around, unsure where the voice was coming from.
"An'an, An'an, time to get up. Get up and have breakfast, you little sleepyhead." Professor Xia Mu smiled very gently, but An'an jolted in fright. "Uh, Dad, I'm not hungry yet. Let me sleep a little longer. It's the weekend~"
Her reminder jogged Professor Xia Mu's memory. "Oh, right, it's the weekend. I should take the flowers from the garden to the flower shop."
"An'an, listen. The Camellia Flower plant Wang Ke asked me to grow has bloomed. Looks like he can take it home today. He should be here soon."
"Hmm? Wang Ke~" An'an sprang out of bed.
Xia Mu stared in surprise, while An'an was already busy getting herself ready.
Once she was ready, An'an went downstairs and drank some milk, without so much as a glance at breakfast. As she passed the sofa, she poked Kukulu. "Hehe, little prince, I'm off to see my Prince Charming~ Hehe~"
"Dad, I'm off!"
The little yellow ball on Xia Mu's head spun around. "As energetic as ever-"
He looked at the photo on the wall and reached out to stroke it. "Lily, our daughter has grown up, and your flower garden is being well cared for, too. I'll do my best to be a good father. Don't worry."
Then he took a bite of the breakfast he'd made. After just two chews, he spat it out.
An'an was already twirling around in the flower garden, holding the Camellia Flower plant:
"Little camellia~ You've bloomed~ Wonderful~ Mom, thank you for leaving us this flower garden. The weekend flower shop was such a wonderful idea. That's why Wang Ke comes to work here~ Wang Ke is the most handsome guy in Flower Harbor City~"
An'an's face was full of infatuation. "No, the most handsome in the whole country~ The whole universe~ Hehe~"
An'an touched her necklace again, her smile a little... well, silly.
Just then, Xiao Bai came over, carrying Kukulu in its mouth.
"Huh? Xiao Bai, Xiao Bai~ I'm so happy~" Xiao Bai was scooped up into her arms, and Kukulu fell to the ground, unnoticed by anyone.
