Hoshi saved Kagetsu’s failing eyesight with Hashirama Cells, then traveled to Mist Village, where he rescued Haku and Kimimaro and helped end the internal conflict. Back in Konoha, Hoshi and Tsunade welcomed twins and built a training group around their children and students.

• Hoshi learned Kagetsu’s eyesight was failing, and he helped Orochimaru transplant Hashirama Cells into her, where they fused with her eyes and awakened a strange power.
• Tsunade told Hoshi she was pregnant, and he announced the news to his friends before leaving for Mist Village to find Haku and help protect threatened clans.
• Hoshi found and took in Haku, then freed Kimimaro from the Kaguya Clan’s dungeon after encouraging him to seek his own purpose.
• Hoshi discovered Akatsuki was manipulating the conflict and pursuing the Three-Tails, while Genji’s forces and Zabuza’s defection defeated the Militant Faction and restored peace.
• Genji chose Mei Terumi as the Fifth Mizukage, and Hoshi returned to Konoha with Haku and Kimimaro.
• Hoshi and Tsunade welcomed twins Moonlight Ryushin and Moonlight Rinne, and Naruto and Sasuke argued over who would become Hokage at the twins’ hundred-day celebration.
• Three years later, Hoshi trained his children, Haku, Kimimaro, and other Konoha youths, while Haku became Tsunade’s medical ninjutsu disciple.

Hoshi helped Kagetsu evolve her Sharingan, witnessed Shisui awaken his Mangekyo, and watched the children grow toward graduation. As Naruto and Hinata’s feelings came to light, Hoshi helped shape the new teams and encouraged Kakashi to become a better instructor, leaving Team 7 about to begin its Survival Exercise.

• Hoshi and Orochimaru evolved Shin’s Sharingan into an Artificial Mangekyo and observed its growth, then Hoshi gave Kagetsu special Yin Release Chakra that awakened her Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
• After Shisui’s father died, Shisui awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan and declared his resolve to clear obstacles for Konoha, while Hoshi and Kagetsu deterred Uchiha elders from pressuring him.
• Years later, Itachi defeated Kimimaro in a courtyard match, and Hoshi reflected on how his children and their friends had developed.
• Naruto admitted that he liked Hinata, and Hinata later told Hiashi that she loved Naruto and would not change her mind.
• Hizashi asked Hoshi to help remove Neji’s Caged Bird Seal, but Neji vowed to break its restraints himself, and Hoshi promised to take responsibility if Neji became an outstanding figure.
• Hanabi skipped a grade and befriended Ryushin and Rinne, while Hoshi, Minato, and Hiruzen prepared the graduating students’ team assignments.
• Naruto and his classmates passed the Graduation Exam, and Hoshi gave Naruto Minato’s scroll containing the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu.

Hoshi and Minato prepared Konoha for a joint Chunin Exam that concealed a planned invasion by Sunagakure and Cloud Village. After Hoshi’s survival was discovered and the Cloud forces withdrew, he stopped Rasa’s attack on the arena, while Rasa stayed behind to cover his people’s retreat.

• Hoshi helped Team 7 pass Kakashi’s bell test, and the three students chose to give up their bells for one another before Hoshi declared them all successful.
• Minato and Hoshi prepared Konoha to host the Chunin Exam, while Rasa agreed to join a plan with Cloud Village to attack the village.
• Naruto and Sasuke clashed during the Forest of Death, but they reunited to fight Gaara before Hoshi frightened Shukaku into retreating.
• Baki and the Cloud delegation investigated reports that Hoshi was alive, and Yugito confirmed his survival after spotting him with Tsunade and their children.
• Naruto trained under Jiraiya while Sakura learned Medical Ninjutsu and Sasuke learned Chidori, then the third exam began with Konoha’s guests watching.
• Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and the other contestants won their matches, while Neji’s fight with Gaara was interrupted when Gaara transformed into the One-Tail.

As Akatsuki captured the Tailed Beasts, Hoshi prepared Konoha for war and helped lead the defense when Pain attacked. Konoha’s forces defeated the invaders, while Jiraiya appealed to Nagato after Hoshi overwhelmed Deva Path Pain.

• Hoshi recruited Jugo into Konoha’s camp, and Akatsuki began capturing and sealing the Tailed Beasts.
• Naruto, Hoshi, and their allies rescued Gaara, but Chiyo sacrificed her life to revive him.
• Hoshi sent Naruto to Mount Myōboku and helped Sasuke and Itachi awaken their Mangekyō Sharingan as Akatsuki prepared to attack Konoha.
• Pain confronted Minato and Jiraiya, demanded Naruto’s location, and began fighting Konoha’s forces.
• Obito and Black Zetsu escaped the battle, while Nagato sent the Animal and Human Paths into Konoha to disable its barriers and unleash giant summons.
• Ryushin rescued Hanabi from the Human Path, then joined Rinne and Hanabi in tracking the summoner through a Black Receiver.
• Ryushin and Rinne destroyed the Sealing Corps and killed the three Pains inside, while Konoha’s fighters defeated Akatsuki’s other forces.
• Hoshi overwhelmed Deva Path Pain, and Jiraiya asked Nagato whether he could hear him.
