Aegon's gaze swept once more over the room full of sleeping dragon eggs, then settled on Daenerys's still-lowered, flushed face.

"Come," he said, his voice returning to its usual steadiness. "Let's go to your room."

"To... to my room?"

Daenerys jerked her head up, her blush deepening instantly until her face was almost blood-red.

Clear panic, embarrassment, and a trace of retreat she had no time to hide flashed through her violet eyes.

Although she had just taken the initiative to kiss him, declaring her feelings and her allegiance with almost desperate resolve, it had been more a confirmation of an emotional bond and a place to belong.

Now, suddenly hearing that he wanted to go to her room, she could not stop more concrete, more intimate possibilities from flooding her mind and setting her heart pounding.

She was not ready, either physically or mentally.

Daenerys froze, pulled out of her blushing fantasies, and nodded instinctively.

"I do. I... I've kept them in the brazier in my room, warming them over charcoal, just... just as I heard people used to do."

"Those three are rather different from these," Aegon said, gesturing toward the dragon
