Aegon transmigrates into the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, becoming Aegon Targaryen, a boy who shares his name.

Good news: He carries the blood of the Valyrian dragonlords and can command dragons.

Bad news: He isn't Aegon the Conqueror, who conquered the Seven Kingdoms, nor any of the kings named Aegon in the history of the Targaryen dynasty. He's "Little Aegon"-yes, the one whose skull the Mountain smashed open against a wall.

Worse still, the Targaryen dynasty has already fallen, and the Usurper has taken the throne in King's Landing.

All he can do is drag his broken body across the Narrow Sea, relying on the system to keep him alive.

Aegon thought he'd been handed a tale of bitter suffering and vengeance. But then...

When the shadow of a three-headed dragon blots out the sun over King's Landing, when the fractured Seven Kingdoms are united once more beneath its monstrous wings, and when usurpers and traitors alike are reduced to ashes in the flames, the maesters compiling the Targaryen chronicles bestow upon him an epithet to stand alongside Aegon the Conqueror:
