Arya could no longer bear Viserys's gaze. Gathering up her skirts, she walked back to Daenerys and linked arms with her. Only then did she turn to Viserys and say teasingly, "Your Grace, isn't my sister beautiful? I told you before that you would like her."
Sansa's face instantly turned as red as a monkey's bottom. "Arya," she protested shyly.
"I didn't say anything wrong. Just look at the way His Grace is looking at you." Arya stuck her tongue out at her.
Daenerys could not help studying Sansa closely as well. This girl from the North really was beautiful, with long auburn hair, a heart-shaped face, blue eyes, and skin as white as milk.
Standing there quietly, she was as lovely as a painting. Side by side with Arya, the two sisters were like ice and fire.
Had Viserys known what Daenerys was thinking, he would certainly have objected. After all, Sansa and Daenerys were the ones who looked like ice and fire together: a direwolf from the North and a three-headed fire dragon from Dragonstone.
"Lady Sansa really is beautiful," Daenerys said after studying her, her voice utterly sincere.
Sansa blushed even more. Lowering her head, she said in a voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz, "You are too kind, Princess..."
Watching the girls interact, Viserys's smile deepened, but he still interrupted them. "All right, Dany. You and Rhaenys should go bathe first, and then we'll have dinner. You've been flying for two days. You can't have had much of a proper meal."
Daenerys was indeed hungry. The cup of milk she had drunk earlier had barely helped. She and Arya had spent two days flying, eating nothing but dry provisions, cold and hard enough to make their jaws ache.
Now, at the mere mention of dinner,
