A short while later, Krillin and the others wiped out all the troops King Cold and Cooler had brought with them.

Everyone gathered around Son Goku, and he finally told them everything about Trunks.

When they learned that Trunks was Vegeta and Bulma's son from a parallel world, they all wore peculiar expressions, leaving Trunks thoroughly embarrassed.

Vegeta snorted. "Women would only slow down my progress. I'm not as tasteless as Kakarot, marrying two Earth women with pathetic power levels of five."

"Vegeta, Kakarot's women aren't weaklings," Nappa said. "Their power levels are both three hundred thousand now."

"Would it kill you to keep your mouth shut, Nappa?" Vegeta snapped.

Krillin and the others burst out laughing.

"No matter how you look at it, Trunks is still Bulma's son," Son Goku said. "I've decided to go to his world with him and help him destroy the Androids."

Everyone nodded in agreement. After all, the Androids had killed their future selves too. Even if those selves belonged to another world, they couldn't let those deaths go unavenged.

Seeing that everyone agreed, Son Goku said to Krillin, "Krillin, go back and tell Bulma and Chi-Chi that I'll be home soon. Tell them to take care of themselves and not put any strain on their pregnancies."

"Got it, Goku. Go on, and don't worry!" Krillin said.

Son Goku nodded, then turned to Trunks. "Trunks, everything here is settled. Let's get going!"

"Okay, Uncle Goku," Trunks said.

With that, the two of them jumped into the Time Machine.

Vegeta said to Son Goku, "Kakarot, when you get to Trunks's world, give the version of me there some proper training. Getting killed by two worthless Androids-what a disgrace to my princely name."

"Sure, Vegeta," Son Goku replied.

Trunks worked the controls inside the Time Machine. It rose into the air, then vanished in a flash.

Piccolo sensed for their energy and told the others, "Son and that kid really have disappeared from this world. It looks like they've actually gone to another parallel world."

"Bulma really is a genius," Krillin said. "She can even build something like a Time Machine."

"Little Baldy is right," Vegeta said. "Kakarot's woman may have a pathetic power level of five, but she's incredibly smart. She's even better than the Frieza Force's former chief scientist."

Raditz and Nappa both nodded in agreement.

"All right, everyone, let's head back and keep training," Piccolo said. "Androids will appear in our world in three years too. Their strength may be nothing worth mentioning, but we still can't get careless."

Everyone nodded, then left the battlefield and returned to West City.

Sitting inside the Time Machine, Son Goku watched the multicolored curtains of light outside and thought, This Time Machine really is extraordinary. It actually lets us travel through time and space.

After flying for an unknown length of time, the Time Machine passed through a curtain of light and arrived in Trunks's world.

Everywhere they looked, ruined walls and shattered buildings lay in utter devastation.

Trunks jumped out of the Time Machine and said to Son Goku, "Uncle Goku, this is my world. The Androids have wrecked it beyond recognition. They've killed ninety percent of humanity, and the survivors can only hide underground like rats."

By the time he finished speaking, Trunks was seething with anger.

Son Goku jumped out of the Time Machine and said, "Trunks, there's no need to be angry anymore. Now that I'm here, there's hope. I'll train you, then let you kill the Androids yourself."

"Thank you, Uncle Goku," Trunks said.

"You're welcome. Take me to see Bulma," Son Goku said.

"Okay, Uncle Goku. Mom will be so happy to see you," Trunks said.

He put the Time Machine back into its Capsule, then led Son Goku to Bulma's hiding place.

A short while later, the two arrived in a concealed basement.

After seeing Bulma, Trunks told her everything that had happened.

Bulma was astonished. Looking at Son Goku, she said, "I never imagined the me in that world would choose to share you with Chi-Chi. That really is surprising."

Son Goku looked at Bulma, who still retained her mature charm, and smiled. "Maybe my sincere feelings won her over!"

Bulma was stunned. "Son, I never thought you were that kind of man. You're so different from the Goku in my world! Our Goku was a martial arts fanatic, utterly clueless about women and as dense as a block of wood. He didn't understand romance at all. I even used to suspect that Gohan was only born because Chi-Chi took the initiative."

Son Goku covered his face with one hand. "Bulma, you're every bit as bold as the Bulma in my world!"

"Oh, really?" Bulma said with a smile. "That's a little strange. Our personalities are so similar, yet yours is so different from our Goku's."

"Maybe that's just how diverse parallel worlds can be," Son Goku said.

Bulma nodded, then said to Son Goku, "Trunks told me you're completely confident you can handle the Androids. Is that true? Son, you mustn't underestimate them!"

"Mom, don't worry," Trunks said. "I haven't seen Uncle Goku fight, but I did see Father fight in that world. He's nowhere near as strong as Uncle Goku, but he's still much stronger than the Androids. Judging by that, dealing with the Androids will be a sure thing for Uncle Goku."

"I see. That's a relief," Bulma said. "Son, when are you going to deal with the Androids?"

"I plan to train Trunks and let him kill them himself," Son Goku said.

"Son, are you confident you can make Trunks strong enough to kill the Androids?" Bulma asked.

"Don't worry. Trunks has plenty of potential. He's just had no one to guide him all these years," Son Goku said.

"Oh, that's good. When will you start training him?" Bulma asked.

"There's no rush," Son Goku said. "In a little while, I'll take Trunks somewhere ideal for training. In less than three days, his strength will improve tremendously-enough to kill the Androids in an instant."

"Oh, all right. I'll make some food for you and Trunks. Eat your fill before you go!" Bulma said.

"No problem," Son Goku said.

Afterward, Bulma prepared some food for Trunks and Son Goku, and the two began wolfing it down.

Watching them from the side, Bulma thought of Vegeta and asked Son Goku, "Son, do you have any way to bring Vegeta and the others back to life?"

Son Goku pondered for a moment, then said, "I do."

Bulma and Trunks were overjoyed. "Really? You're not lying to us, are you?" they asked, addressing him as Son and Uncle Goku respectively.

"We can use Planet Namek's Shenron to resurrect Piccolo," Son Goku said. "Once Piccolo is alive again, Earth's Shenron will return too. Then we can use Earth's Shenron to bring Vegeta and the others back."

"That's wonderful!" Bulma exclaimed in delight. "Son, thank you so much!"

Son Goku smiled. "You're welcome. We're all family here."
