Was I being too obvious?
After reflecting on herself, Su Xiajing quickly came up with an excuse. "Sister Wang called me this afternoon because she was worried about you. I know how dangerous things were, so I'm truly grateful to that lady for saving Mommy's precious baby."
Tang Tang was skeptical.
Su Xiajing said, "...That lady saved you, which means she saved me too. Mommy doesn't think any amount of gratitude would be too much."
Tang Tang thought that made perfect sense and was very pleased.
"Mm-hmm, Mommy, you're right."
"Then it's settled!"
Su Xiajing made the decision happily. "But Mommy wants to thank her in person. Tangtang, can you come with Mommy to visit our benefactor this weekend?"
"I can, but..."
Tang Tang looked a little troubled. "Auntie has to work this weekend. She won't have a day off until next Monday."
Su Xiajing decided on the spot. "Then we'll visit her next Monday."
