Background / History

Huo Yuhao is born to Huo Yun'er, a maid in the White Tiger Duke's Mansion, and Duke Dai Hao. His poor martial soul awakening makes him easy to overlook, and both mother and son suffer prolonged abuse within the household. After Huo Yun'er's death, the original boy digs her grave with his bare hands and dies from excessive blood loss 1 71.

A soul identified by the narration as Yun Yi enters his body after escaping the Lost Space. The resulting fusion is more than the transfer of information: he experiences Huo Yuhao's childhood and Huo Yun'er's suffering as though they were his own. Although he recognizes that he was originally someone else, he accepts Huo Yuhao's identity and considers Huo Yun'er his mother 1.

Given a choice between retaining the Child of Destiny's position or rejecting both that identity and the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm, he immediately chooses rejection and receives a system. He adopts the surname Huo, buries the White Tiger Dagger in his mother's headstone, vows to destroy the Duke's Mansion, and leaves to seek an independent future 1.

His initial journey lasts three months, during which his injuries heal and his body strengthens. He settles in Luoyun Village near the Star Dou Great Forest, intending to watch for Tian Meng's appearance so that he can obtain Electrolux as a teacher without accepting Tian Meng himself 2.

Huo Yuhao values the freedom to choose his own life. His rejection of the Child of Destiny's role is immediate, and his eventual ideal is not endless conquest but an ordinary family life: resurrecting his mother, marrying someone he chooses, raising children, and living comfortably in Luoyun Village 1 46.

His affection for Huo Yun'er coexists with calculated vindictiveness. He does not consider simply killing Dai Hao sufficient punishment; he wants to strip away his power, reputation, family, and happiness. He also plans his revenge around protecting Huo Yun'er's future reputation rather than allowing her to be remembered as the mother of an indiscriminate killer 1 71.

He is pragmatic, acquisitive, and willing to manipulate allies and enemies alike. He tests Zhang Lexuan's self-sacrificing morality through a fabricated threat, collects corpses for undead experiments after saving her group, and uses lucrative ring-inscription transactions to acquire subordinates as well as money 32 36 129.

His ruthlessness has selective limits. Xuan Zi recognizes that, despite engineering the beast tide and employing extreme methods, Huo Yuhao keeps his promise that no ordinary person will die in it. He also distinguishes the Snow Empress who attacked him from her newly human infant form, and later accepts that his daughter deserves a life he has not predetermined for her 155 207 335.
