Background / History

Origins and ties to the Star Dou Great Forest

Xiao Wu originates from the Star Dou Great Forest and remains concerned for its safety even while living in the Divine Realm. When Tang San warns of trouble on Douluo Star, she asks whether they should intervene. She accepts his refusal, believing his claim that divine law prevents interference 1.

Her mother was killed by Spirit Hall. In the second mission world, Xiao Wu’s hatred of Spirit Hall becomes the comparison she uses for her inexplicable aversion to Tang San 79.

First mission world: exposure and protection

Xiao Wu and Tang San attend Suotuo Advanced Soul Master Academy together. She regards the academy as a relatively safe place to conceal her soul-beast identity. Their ordinary interactions include her urging him to go shopping and asking to borrow money 26.

Huo Yuhao’s arrival destroys that security. Xiao Wu senses his probing presence, becomes terrified, and asks Tang San to protect her. Huo restrains her and exposes her as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast, using the threat against her to provoke Tang San into attacking. Tang San later moves her clear of the battle between Huo and Tang Hao 26 27.

After Tang San’s death, Xiao Wu cradles his body and initially rejects Huo’s accusations that the Tang family intended to harvest her soul ring and bone. The narration distinguishes the claims: Tang Hao had considered using her as Tang San’s soul ring, but Huo invents Tang San’s supposed deception. His purpose is to weaken her attachment to the dead family and prevent retaliation against Spirit Hall 29.

Huo spares Xiao Wu and brings her to Dugu Bo. Despite recognizing the value of her ring and bone, Dugu Bo promises to shelter her at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Huo leaves her there under his protection 30.

Second mission world: attachment to Huo Yuhao

At Nuoding Academy, Xiao Wu enters Dorm Seven as a new Work-Study Student. Meeting Tang San causes immediate distress and intense dislike; seeing Huo Yuhao makes those symptoms disappear. She approaches Huo openly and tells him she likes him 79.

The system reports 40 favorability toward Huo and −40 toward Tang San. Huo connects these reactions to the previous mission world, where he spared her and undermined her trust in Tang San. The system’s rules carry affection from the preceding mission world into the next at half strength 77 79.

Xiao Wu quickly seeks Huo’s company, comparing the comfort she feels around him to being with her mother. She pushes their beds together and dismisses Tang San’s objections to sharing bedding 80.

She later obtains Lovesick Heartbreak Red, which conceals her soul-beast identity while she carries it. Before leaving the mission world, Huo transfers all command permissions for his surviving Soul Guidance Robots to her. He also makes arrangements intended to help her reach Limit Douluo and pursue revenge against Bibi Dong; neither that breakthrough nor the revenge is confirmed in the supplied chapters 90 94.

Original world: dream intrusion and marital separation

The original-world Xiao Wu is Tang San’s wife in the Divine Realm. Their relationship deteriorates before Huo’s first documented dream intrusion, with Xiao Wu rejecting Tang San’s attempts at intimacy 95.

Huo uses Dream Entry to enter her dream without her knowledge and move her into an immersive dreamscape he controls. Xiao Wu believes the encounter is her own dream and treats him as an imagined ideal partner. They remain there for 121 days before returning to reality with memories of the experience 98.

Afterward, Xiao Wu becomes attached to the mysterious dream figure. She remembers his request to avoid intimacy with Tang San and decides to follow it, hoping he will return 100.

Huo continues visiting her dreams every seven days. By the end of a year on Douluo Star, Xiao Wu has separated from Tang San and no longer pays him attention. They nevertheless remain married, a fact that continues to anger Huo 112 225.

Depiction in Zhu Zhuqing’s dream

Within Zhu Zhuqing’s dream, Xiao Wu and Tang San live in the Star Dou Great Forest. Xiao Wu warmly receives Zhu Zhuqing as a close friend and trusts Tang San when he sends her away to gather food. She does not recognize that he is arranging a private encounter with Zhu Zhuqing 196 197.

Appearance

The mature Divine Realm Xiao Wu is described as exceptionally beautiful, with waist-length hair and a shapely figure 98.

  • Youthful version: A bright, characteristic smile, a clear and sweet voice, and innocent-looking eyes 79.
  • Dream-world adult version: Particularly striking long legs; her appearance is further enhanced by the Asura Sword Sheath’s god-level blessing 196.

Personality

Xiao Wu is frank about her feelings. At Dorm Seven, she immediately expresses liking for Huo Yuhao without intending a romantic declaration. She is also playful and curious, asking to join the dormitory’s game and trying to draw Tang San away from training to go shopping 26 79.

Her attachments are strong. The first mission-world Xiao Wu regards Tang San as family and is devastated by his death. In the second mission world, her instinctive attachment to Huo gives her a similar sense of familial comfort 29 80.

She can be forceful when challenged, sharply rejecting Tang San’s attempt to dictate whom she may share bedding with. Conversely, her trust can leave her vulnerable to manipulation: she accepts Tang San’s professed impartiality, struggles with Huo’s fabricated account of Tang San’s motives, and does not know that her dream encounters are engineered 1 29 80 98.

Abilities & Skills

Human-form cultivation

  • Originally a hundred-thousand-year Soft-Boned Enchanting Rabbit, Xiao Wu takes human form to cultivate anew 30.
  • Her identity can remain hidden from ordinary Soul Saints and Soul Douluos, but Titled Douluos can recognize it 29.
  • She detects Huo Yuhao’s powerful presence probing her body shortly before he reaches the academy 26.

God-level soul strength

  • Her original-world soul strength exceeds Huo Yuhao’s during their first extended dream encounter 100.
  • She recovers more readily from the experience, although its memories strongly affect her emotions and behavior 100.

Dream-world combat strength

  • In Zhu Zhuqing’s dream, Xiao Wu is strong enough that Tang San considers the Star Dou Great Forest safe for her 197.
  • The narration states that she could kill a hundred-thousand-year soul beast with a single slap. This feat is attributed to the dream depiction, not demonstrated in the original world 197.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Lovesick Heartbreak Red — Obtained in the second mission world; conceals her soul-beast identity as long as it remains with her 90.
  • Soul Guidance Robot army — Huo transfers all remaining command permissions to her before departing the second mission world. The force began at two million robots and lost only a few hundred thousand during the Clear Sky Sect campaign 94.

Relationships

  • Tang San — Her husband in the original world, though they later live apart. In the first mission world, she regards him as family and mourns him; in the second, she feels intense instinctive aversion toward him 1 29 79 112 225.
  • Huo Yuhao — Exposes and manipulates her in the first mission world, but also spares her and secures protection. She becomes attached to him in the second mission world. He later engineers intimate dream encounters with the original-world Xiao Wu without revealing his involvement 26 29 30 79 98.
  • Tang Hao — Had considered making her Tang San’s soul ring. Huo uses this genuine intention as the basis for a largely fabricated account of the Tang family’s motives 29.
  • Dugu Bo — Her protector in the first mission world; promises Huo that he will shelter her despite the temptation of her soul ring and bone 30.
  • Mother — Killed by Spirit Hall. Xiao Wu associates her mother with the sense of comfort she experiences around Huo in the second mission world 79 80.
  • Bibi Dong — A revenge target for the second mission-world Xiao Wu. Huo leaves preparations intended to support that revenge 94.
  • Zhu Zhuqing — A close friend in Zhu Zhuqing’s dream-world depiction; Xiao Wu welcomes her visits without suspecting her interest in Tang San 196 197.
