The instant the black energy erupted, every God-level being watching the spectacle within a thousand kilometers fell from the sky. A purple mist spread out, resembling the purple mist atop Nether Mountain.
Sean immediately felt immense pressure bearing down on him. He concentrated all his Willpower to suppress the Sovereign's power from outside, but at that very instant, the Soul Pearl in his mind suddenly erupted with an extremely powerful desire to devour something—far stronger than the desire it had shown upon encountering Sovereign Artifacts.
Sean was greatly alarmed and hurriedly suppressed the Soul Pearl's desire. He did not dare let anything go wrong in a situation like this.
After much effort, he finally forced it down. Sean let out a breath of relief and guessed, Could it be that what the Soul Pearl wants is a Sovereign's Willpower?
The previous Sovereign Artifacts, coupled with this terrifying Willpower, seemed to have already provided the answer. But Sean was now a Paragon himself and possessed Willpower as well, so why was the Soul Pearl uninterested in it?
However, this was not the time to dwell on that. After confirming that there was nothing wrong with the Soul Pearl, Sean looked back toward the sky. Under the suppression of Death Sovereign's immense power, the enormous faces of the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods were gradually transforming into human forms.
"Greetings, Death Sovereign."
Even the proud Four Divine Beasts had to lower their noble heads before the Four Great Rule Masters.
This sight gave Sean an idea. From the looks of it, Death Sovereign should already possess a Supreme Divine Artifact. In that case, if the Short Spear in his possession truly was a Supreme God Relic, there was a strong chance that there would be a second Destruction Supreme God mission—the one for Orloff's Material Defense Supreme Artifact?
"Haha, it's so lively here~"
"Greetings, Sovereign~"
"The Four Divine Beasts? Why have you come to the Netherworld? How many billion years has it been since we last met?"
Chaotic voices rang out one after another. Before long, another ten Sovereigns' Energy Clones appeared in the sky. Half cultivated the Death Rule, while the other half were Sovereigns of different elements among the Seven Laws.
The four Supreme Planes were more stable than the God Planes, and the God Planes had been created later by the seven elemental Sovereigns. In other words, many Sovereigns had been born in the Supreme Planes. Just as the Four Divine Beasts had always lived in the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range of Hell, many Sovereigns of other Laws had also been born in the Netherworld, so it was perfectly normal for them to return here to reside.
Of course, the greater reason was likely that the Four Great Rule Masters were the strongest, and they had all aligned themselves with Death Sovereign.
The Sovereigns chatted casually for a while before Death Sovereign softly said, "Enough. There will be plenty of time to reminisce later. Let us handle the matter at hand first."
"Yes, Sovereign." After the Netherworld's Sovereigns replied, they all fell silent.
Quite a few Sovereigns were also looking at Sean with great interest. The birth of a Paragon was the most sensational news in the God Planes, and the Sovereigns were deeply interested as well—especially those with the Death attribute. They too wished for a Paragon Highgod of the same attribute, someone with whom they could spar, learn, and seek a breakthrough to Paragon. Though the odds of success were practically nonexistent.
Azure Dragon said, "Sovereign, everyone, this was only a minor matter to begin with. Sean seized something belonging to my Azure Dragon Clan, but I no longer wish to pursue it. Let my clansmen leave, and let this matter end here."
Death Sovereign sneered. "What a joke, Azure Dragon. You say Sean stole something from your clan? Yet Sean says that your Azure Dragon Clan was pursuing someone, and that person tried to use Sean as a shield, only to be killed by Sean.
Since Sean killed that person, then that person's wealth, treasures, and anything else should naturally belong to Sean, shouldn't they?"
"What?" Azure Dragon Lord God was stunned for a moment and glanced at Sean.
Sean naturally nodded in agreement.
In truth, he was somewhat anxious as well. This involved a possible Supreme God Relic, but everything today had been pushed forward by Death Sovereign from behind the scenes. He had no reason to refuse, since she meant well.
If a Sovereign forced him to hand it over, then with their discernment, it would be over if they recognized it. If Orloff later obtained the Supreme God Appraisal and learned of this matter, he would likely have no choice but to hand it over.
The advantage, however, was that he could claim he did not know it was a Supreme God Relic. If it was truly recognized, he could hand it over to Death Sovereign. At least he would not nearly be killed by Bright Master like Linley had been in the original story.
Still, he naturally wanted to gamble on a treasure like this. Even if he really took it out, if the Sovereigns did not attack the Supreme God Relic, they might not necessarily be able to confirm that it was one. There were many wondrous things in the world. Without the Supreme God Appraisal, they might not be able to identify it.
After hesitating for a moment, Azure Dragon said, "You mean my clansmen lied to me?"
"Haha, Azure Dragon, don't tell me you can't even keep your own clansmen under control?" a Dark Lord God laughed mockingly.
Though the other Sovereigns said nothing, they could not help privately communicating among themselves.
Azure Dragon's expression turned extremely ugly. A Sovereign's dignity could not be offended. Ordinary God-level beings who dared deceive a Sovereign were generally sentenced to death. If such a thing happened, the Sovereign would feel humiliated.
And now, in front of so many Sovereigns, if his own clansmen had truly deceived him, the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods would lose all face.
Just then, another terrifying power erupted. A black shadow appeared, its power not the slightest bit inferior to Death Sovereign's.
"Greetings, Destruction Sovereign." Many Sovereigns immediately bowed, as did the Four Divine Beasts.
Death Sovereign glanced at him. "Why have you appeared?"
"This is only a minor matter. It does not warrant the attention of so many Sovereigns." Destruction Sovereign said calmly, "Azure Dragon, bring your clansmen here directly. Don't worry. The four of you may come together. With me here, you will be safe."
"Yes." Azure Dragon and the other three agreed, then all dispersed their Energy Clones.
Sean also glanced at Destruction Sovereign and bowed. "Greetings, Destruction Sovereign."
A somewhat friendlier voice emerged from Destruction Sovereign's black shadow. "Sean? Very good. For trillions of years, no Paragon has appeared in the world.
I recall that roughly tens of millions of years ago, you once traveled through the Sea of Chaos, didn't you?"
"Yes. I once stayed in Hell for around ten million years," Sean replied.
Back then, in pursuit of the pinnacle of divinity, he had traveled through many Supreme Planes and God Planes, battling different experts and seeking breakthroughs. Otherwise, no matter how great his talent was, he could not possibly have reached his current realm.
Almost no Paragon, Asura, or Seven-Star Demon could be achieved through secluded cultivation alone. Only constant challenges could lead to enlightenment.
"When you have time, come to Wukun City in my Sea of Chaos." After saying that, Destruction Sovereign spoke no more.
