Ch. 141The Myconid Network

Kroya developed a way to prevent the Mushroom Person’s spore network from disorienting its users, then tested the resulting Mushroom Patches with Jamie and Ryan. Their mental communication worked across the castle and island, but Ryan’s image suddenly went black during a distant test.

  • Kroya discovered that the Mushroom Person’s hyphae connected to nerves but caused confusion by transmitting chaotic mana, and he used a Magic Crystal White Mouse to test the effect.
  • Kroya made a temple patch that blocked the chaotic mana while allowing the hyphae through, and a second white mouse remained calm while communicating clearly.
  • Kroya gave Mushroom Patches to Jamie and Ryan, who successfully heard each other’s thoughts and shared imagined scenes through the spore mist.
  • Kroya expanded the tests from the castle to across the island, then sent Ryan through the Spatial Magic Array to the docks on Reef Island.
  • Ryan’s image suddenly went black, leaving Kroya unsure whether the connection had failed or something had happened to him.

Ch. 142Spore Bladders with instant results

Kroya replenished Ryan’s Mental Power, prepared equipment and training supplies for the apprentices, and sent Spore Bladders to the Pitfall Lord. The bladders immediately freed the Pitfall Lord’s infected subordinates from their mushroom-induced nightmares, and he left to deliver Kroya’s promised goods.

  • Kroya revived Ryan with a mixture of soothing lily and Mental Power, then gave him a soothing lily plant to support his Mental Power.
  • Kroya gave Jamie ten sets of supplies for the Mage Apprentices and prepared ten sets of beginner equipment for the Knight Apprentices.
  • Kroya sent the Pitfall Lord Spore Bladders, claiming they came from the Astral Spirit master and asking him to keep their existence secret.
  • The Pitfall Lord crushed the Spore Bladders in the infected cave, causing the mushrooms to wither and his subordinates to wake from their nightmares.
  • The Pitfall Lord ordered his subordinates to stay away from the Yavana Sacred Mine and left to deliver the soul solution and Myconid Bitter Feast Mushrooms to Kroya.

Ch. 143Tower Spirit Cultivation Pool, Gopherwood

Kroya gathered the materials and constructed a Tower Spirit Cultivation Pool to raise a tower spirit from a shark’s soul. Elsewhere, Baron Kermoyer found the legendary Gopherwood and its guardian knight’s armor, but touching the armor left him gravely injured, and only Kroya could save him.

  • Kroya used the Pitfall Lord’s trade guild to obtain soul solution, Underworld Crossing river water, and a soul-calming crystal for his cultivation pool.
  • Kroya erased the shark’s consciousness, built the rune-covered pool, and combined its materials to begin nurturing the shark’s soul.
  • Baron Kermoyer and his subordinates broke into an undead-guarded garden, where Kermoyer discovered the Gopherwood and its guardian knight’s armor.
  • Kermoyer splashed his blood on the armor, causing the guardian’s remains to crumble into ashes, then was pierced by thorns when he touched it.
  • Kermoyer’s subordinates carried him away with the Gopherwood, realizing that Mage Kroya was the only one who could save him.

Ch. 144A clever Tower Spirit, a troubled Gray Sand

Kroya taught the young shark Tower Spirit to manipulate magic and showed it the island through a crystal screen. Meanwhile, the Gray Sand Mage captured troublesome desert creatures and sent them as gifts to the Mage Lord Alliance, and Kroya was prompted to claim one.

  • Kroya inscribed his own magic manipulation spell on the shark Tower Spirit, which used his mental power to gather magic and play with it.
  • The shark Tower Spirit told Kroya it wanted to leave its cultivation pool, so he had the Woodstar Curving Vine King show it images of Reef Island on a crystal screen.
  • Kroya watched the Mushroom People tend the Undersea Pasture and considered raising carnivorous magical beasts to use the blood pasture fungus.
  • The Gray Sand Mage learned from Uncle Moor that big-mouthed demon flowers and wind-eroded sandworms were fighting over a desert water source.
  • The Gray Sand Mage subdued thousands of the creatures and sent them as gifts to the Mage Lord Alliance before falling asleep.
  • The Sacred Spring Trade Guild told Kroya that the Gray Sand Lord had provided a gift for every alliance lord and asked whether he wanted to receive his.

Ch. 145Taming the Sandworms, the Final Piece of the Music

Kroya brought Wind-Eroded Sandworms to the Undersea Pasture and used them to speed up lava-rock mining, then magically forced them to obey his commands. As he discovered that their resentment helped unlock the Second Movement of the Song of Orange, a distant death music caused the movement to transform into a symphony.

  • Kroya examined the Man-Eating Demon Flowers and Wind-Eroded Sandworms gifted by the Gray Sand Lord and decided to bring them to the Undersea Pasture.
  • At the underwater mine, Kroya watched the miners working and recognized Ottar, who had settled into the work alongside them.
  • Kroya released the Wind-Eroded Sandworms in the pit, where they rapidly chewed through lava rock and left ore behind, startling and worrying the miners.
  • After sending the workers away, Kroya used a Magic Chain imprint to control the sandworms and make them follow his directions.
  • Kroya realized the sandworms' resentment advanced the Second Movement of the Song of Orange, then heard distant music of death and watched the movement bloom into a vast symphony.

Ch. 146The reverberations of the symphony

Kroya’s symphony drew the attention of an angel and the merfolk king, while Mage Dantalian negotiated an end to the blizzard threatening the Nolant Kingdom’s northern reaches. Kroya received a ring that concealed the symphony’s magic and headed toward Semir, whose music of death he had sensed.

  • An angel recognized Kroya’s use of the Poem of the First Source, gave him a platinum iris, and fell asleep after reflecting on the merfolk and the laws shaping the present world.
  • Mage Dantalian confronted King Mihail over the blizzard and won his agreement to help restore the northern reaches after the ocean-current blessing ritual.
  • Dantalian left Mermaid City, sent a letter to Io, and teleported to Starry Town while Mihail watched the direction of Reef Island.
  • Kroya received the iris, which became a ring that let him choose who could perceive the magic power connected to his symphony.
  • Kroya sensed that Semir was producing the music of death and went toward the gathered crowd, wondering whether the symphony could affect Semir’s soul.

Ch. 147The Powerful Symphony

Kroya used Symphony’s Endless Bedrock Notes to resurrect Semir as an elemental life-form bound to his music, then collapsed from the immense magical cost. After resting, Kroya discovered that the Big-Mouthed Demon Flowers had produced ghostly blue crystals containing Astral Spirit Bodies.

  • Kroya found Semir dead beside a blue-ringed Venomous Demon Octopus after Semir had saved two young women, and Elena and the townspeople begged him to bring Semir back.
  • Kroya used Symphony’s Endless Bedrock Notes to reconstruct Semir’s body and bind his soul to a Bedrock Note, restoring him as an elemental creature.
  • Semir awoke, thanked Kroya, and returned to his work while the townspeople celebrated his revival.
  • Kroya collapsed from the spell’s magical cost, ordered the Big-Mouthed Demon Flowers to eat the octopus, and fell asleep as the Brilliant Gold Divine Butterfly and Mushroom People tended to him.
  • After waking, Kroya noticed the flowers had produced blue crystals and sensed music of life and Astral Spirit Bodies within them.

Ch. 148Flowers that produced "magic crystals"

Kroya discovered that Big-Mouthed Demon Flowers produced blood demon crystals using magic-blocking mucus and that their seeds adapted to the magic they consumed. He inscribed Elemental Reconstitution onto one flower, enabling it to produce pure elemental magic crystals and pass the spell to its seeds.

  • Kroya examined a blood demon crystal and found tiny Big-Mouthed Demon Flower seeds inside it.
  • He watched a flower digest a blue-ringed octopus and learned that its mucus isolated the creature’s magic and formed crystals around the seeds.
  • Kroya fed Hexagram Flowers to a Big-Mouthed Demon Flower, then supplied magic and fish flesh to grow scarlet, magma-affinity flowers from the seeds.
  • He used mental magic to persuade the flowers to seek elemental forms so they could produce crystals without consuming flesh and blood.
  • Kroya successfully inscribed Elemental Reconstitution onto a Big-Mouthed Demon Flower and discovered that its seeds could inherit the spell.

Ch. 149Atavistic return? Evolution! Sea God Coconut!

Kroya discovered that restoring a Big-Mouthed Demon Flower’s inherited elementalization triggered an atavistic return, then applied the same approach to the Pure White Sea Spirit Coconut, which regained its ancient abilities and became a Pure White Sea God Coconut. As Kroya prepared to restore more magic plants and put his new stock to use, the angel arrived with urgent news that the gopherwood had reached his territory.

  • Kroya watched an inscribed Big-Mouthed Demon Flower elementalize, regain an inherited ability through atavistic return, and produce elemental seeds and pure magic crystals.
  • Kroya brought the elemental flowers to a magic-rich area to produce crystals, then accepted thousands of flowers and hundreds of Wind-Eroded Sandworms from the Gray Sand Lord and distributed them around the volcanic cluster and Reef Island.
  • Kroya found that the Pure White Sea Spirit Coconuts were ready to reproduce and inscribed them with the Light Spell and Water Control Spell.
  • The coconuts regained their original abilities, and the inscription transformed into one that could guide other suitable coconut trees toward becoming Pure White Sea God Coconuts.
  • The angel emerged from a doorway and told Kroya that the gopherwood had arrived in his territory.

Ch. 150The angel answered questions, golden notes (5K)

Kroya learned from the angel how gopherwood could become a powerful harp and discovered that Baron Kermoyer had obtained the sapling. He healed the baron by helping an ancient knight’s ghost find release, and the knight left behind Golden Notes before the baron awoke.

  • The angel told Kroya that gopherwood could record the growth of magic plants and beasts and become a divine harp, then explained the Ring and the core circuits of Water Luminary and Earth Luminary.
  • Kroya learned that Baron Kermoyer had arrived wounded by thorns, and Rob led him to the guesthouse, where Kroya found the gopherwood sapling beside the baron.
  • Kroya used the Astral Crystal Turtle to communicate with a ghost inside the baron’s armor and helped the ghost enter an Evergreen Olive Tree leaf.
  • The ghost revealed that Ilyst had kept him as a garden decoration for thousands of years, then asked Kroya to burn away his soul so he could enter the World of the Dead.
  • Kroya used the Symphony’s sunlight to destroy the knight’s soul, and the knight left him Golden Notes before part of his soul settled upon Baron Kermoyer, who then awoke.

Ch. 151Hymn of Eternity, Level-Four Mage (5K)

Kroya learned the Hymn of Eternity and True Transfiguration, then used the gopherwood harp to dispel the merfolk’s forbidden clouds over Reef Island and bring sunlight to the island. As the island celebrated, Kroya formed a fourth magic vortex and became a Level-Four Mage.

  • The knight’s Golden Note gave Kroya insight into the Golden Melody, while Baron Kermoyer gained his ancestor’s thorn-based swordsmanship and battle aura method and agreed to serve Kroya in exchange for help suppressing the thorns.
  • The angel transformed Kroya into a sun, allowing him to learn the Hymn of Eternity and preserve the knight’s Golden Note within his mana.
  • Kroya learned True Transfiguration and imprinted it on the gopherwood, which he turned into a harp with crimson, orange, and golden strings.
  • Kroya played the harp, and its crimson music shattered the merfolk’s forbidden clouds so sunlight reached Reef Island; the other notes spread joy and fixed the moment in the islanders’ memories.
  • Kroya’s music drew a protective presence over Reef Island, then his mana rose until a fourth three-colored magic vortex formed and made him a Level-Four Mage.

Ch. 152The sunflowers' path, fish flying into the sky (5K)

Kroya received two magic plants from the angel, then accidentally caused the Faith Spring Water Lily to unleash an endless fountain of Mistsea Blue Spring over Reef Island. The Holy Light Clovers absorbed the resulting mist, restoring peace to the island as the angel went to sleep.

  • The angel brought Estrella Knight Bamboo and Faith Spring Water Lily out of the Ark Garden and explained their powers to Kroya.
  • The angel warned Kroya against pursuing the Ring or mixing faith with his magic, and explained the Ark's Life Support System and the lost Eye of Telnas.
  • Kroya poured magic into the Faith Spring Water Lily, which erupted with Mistsea Blue Spring and spread blue mist across Reef Island.
  • Fish swam through the sky in the mist while the Sea Spirit Dolphins played with children above the island.
  • The angel explained that sea creatures' faith sustained the spring and warned Kroya that the mist could persist and provoke the sea gods' followers.
  • Kroya used two pots of Holy Light Clover to absorb the mist, causing it to dissipate and the fish to return to the sea.

Ch. 153The baron's allegiance and the thorn cultivation method (5K)

Kroya experimented with the Holy Light Clovers’ spring water, encountered a sun-storing Radiant Jellyfish, and used the Gopherwood Harp to tame Baron Kermoyer’s Thorns of Justice. Kermoyer pledged allegiance and shared his family’s Thorn-based battle aura method, which Kroya planned to teach his Knight Apprentices.

  • Kroya discovered that the clovers’ spring water hardened when infused with mana and withstood a sword strike and several fireballs before breaking apart.
  • A little girl’s Radiant Jellyfish flew to Kroya to absorb sunlight, and he agreed to let her learn from Elena and help care for it.
  • Kroya visited Baron Kermoyer, confirmed that he was ready to pledge allegiance, and used the Gopherwood Harp and his golden mana to suppress and engrave the Thorns of Justice.
  • Kermoyer summoned a Thorn Sword without pain, then gave Kroya a thorn containing his ancestor’s battle aura cultivation method, swordsmanship, and Sword of Thorns spell.
  • Kroya decided to teach the Thorns of Justice cultivation method to his Knight Apprentices.

Ch. 154The Convicts' Allegiance, a Dragon in the Moon Sea (5K)

Kroya agreed to help Baron Kermoyer seize a neighboring Viscount’s territory and won the Convicts’ allegiance by destroying their old contract and giving them the ability to cast spells. The mana drawn from their scars awakened the Voidmoon Divine Tree, where a silver dragon began to form.

  • Kermoyer told Kroya he planned to challenge Viscount Bernal, and Kroya promised mages and Knight Apprentices to help him expand his control around Reef Island.
  • Kermoyer agreed to gather information, bring nearby Barons under his command, and send Kroya any Magical Beasts or Magic Plants he found, including Sugar-Eared Rabbits.
  • Ottar offered the Convicts’ Master-Servant Blood Contract, but Kroya burned it and accepted their pledge of loyalty instead.
  • Kroya used the Gopherwood Harp to draw mana from the scars of seventeen Convicts, lighting the Voidmoon Divine Tree’s trunk and causing a life-form to take shape.
  • Kroya planted magic field grape vines in the Convicts, and they discovered they could cast spells; he ordered them to study and accompany the apprentices on training in three days.
  • Kroya saw a silver dragon forming inside the crystal bottle.

Ch. 155The Dragon's True Name, Before Departure (5K)

Kroya discovered a young silver dragon named Luthia Selhalon in the Astral Crystal Bottle and learned that she could control water and needed moonlight to grow. He trained the Knight Apprentices in the Thorn Cultivation Method, awarded armor to the first successful students, and sent them and the Mage Apprentices off Reef Island for practical experience while he watched through a surveillance array.

  • Kroya read the dragon’s true name, Luthia Selhalon, and a vast presence blocked the magic surging from the castle toward the ocean.
  • Kroya spoke with the young dragon, learned she had been born from the Voidmoon Divine Tree and could overpower the Merfolk Tribe’s water control, and promised to provide moonlight.
  • Kroya prepared thorn shoots and Water-Star Magic Armor, inscribed the Astral Crystal Turtle with an earth-and-stone-shaping ability, and taught the Knight Apprentices the Thorn Cultivation Method.
  • Kroya awarded armor to the first ten apprentices who mastered the method, including Semir, Ryan, and two female apprentices, then ordered the group to prepare for practical experience alongside the Mage Apprentices.
  • Three days later, the Mage Apprentices, Knight Apprentices, and Baron Kermoyer left Reef Island by way of the sea spirit dolphins’ road across the water.
  • Kroya watched their departure through a surveillance Magic Array and anticipated seeing more of the outside world.

Ch. 156Cultists and demons

Ryan’s team investigated Baron Andy’s castle after finding frozen bodies near Reef Island and discovered a demon-summoning ritual led by Jack’s old friend Jit. Jit drove the apprentices out unharmed, leaving them to wonder whether the demon had fully taken control of him.

  • Ryan led his team through the blizzard with Apprentice Jack’s thermal aura and found dozens of frozen people along the way.
  • At Baron Andy’s castle, the scouting crows and Mushroom Person sensed demons, so Ryan investigated with Jack and a Mage Apprentice while a Convict followed invisibly.
  • The three entered the blood-smeared castle, and Kroya identified the runes as a demon-summoning array before the Pitfall Lord identified the summoned beings as low-level Lesser Demons.
  • Jit recognized Jack and invited him to join the Cultists, claiming they had turned to a demon because the nobles had left them no choice.
  • Jit swept the apprentices out of a window without harming them, and they suspected he had deliberately let them escape because the demon had not fully taken control of him.

Ch. 157Greedy orange, hidden chapter (5K)

Ryan and the apprentices entered Baron Andy’s castle to rescue its prisoners, while Kroya recognized the orange power surrounding it as greed tied to Mammon. They freed the captives, but a mysterious blond priest’s arrival was followed by an attack that forced everyone to flee deeper into the dungeon.

  • A Convict sensed greedy orange magic around the castle, and Kroya realized that the power could corrupt anyone whose own greed overwhelmed the eternal light.
  • Ryan and the apprentices chose to rescue the castle’s people, received Kroya’s protection through the Mushroom Person, and secretly entered through a hole in the wall.
  • The apprentices found a diary naming Mammon, then discovered Baron Andy and other nobles suspended amid pollen-producing orange flowers in the dungeon.
  • The pollen nearly overwhelmed the Convicts, but the apprentices rescued imprisoned relatives and learned from an old man that Jit had summoned monsters and locked them up.
  • A blond young man wielding platinum light drove back the pollen, identified himself vaguely as a former priest, and left before returning to warn that the demon had spotted him.
  • Flower vines surged through the dungeon, and Ryan’s group grabbed the rescued prisoners and ran for the exit.

Ch. 158The truth about salt, bringing the wager forward

Kroya monitored construction of his underwater facilities and spoke with Aistena, who revealed the truth about the Salt Mountains and warned him about the Holy Knights. After learning that Stein’s mentor had helped him reach level four, Kroya decided to bring their wager forward and challenge them on Reef Island.

  • Kroya stopped watching the cultist incident and inspected the underwater factory and tunnel being built beneath Reef Island.
  • Kroya entered the Deep Blue Illusion to speak with Aistena, who told him about the cultists at the Yavana Sacred Mine and warned him that Holy Knights were heading to the northern border.
  • Aistena revealed that the Salt Mountains were formed from executed sinners and demons, and that a Holy Knight had turned a level-seven demon into salt with one crossbow bolt.
  • Aistena told Kroya that Stein was his mentor’s illegitimate son and that the moonlight dewgrass from their wager had helped the mentor reach level four.
  • Kroya asked Aistena to witness an early fulfillment of the wager and invited Stein and his mentor to Reef Island for a duel of honor.

Ch. 159New sunflowers and the wondrous Sea Spirit Lingzhi Potion

Kroya arranged with Aistena to trade for unusual sunflowers and snow-controlling rabbits, and sent him three hundred bottles of Sea Spirit Lingzhi Potion to assess. Aistena discovered that the potion had an unexpectedly powerful effect on a mage’s clarity and hurried to consult his mentor.

  • Kroya and Aistena discussed bringing Aistena to Reef Island for Mage Association assignments and an honor duel involving Stein’s mentor and father.
  • Aistena showed Kroya the Elves’ white cloudmist sunflower, and offered him some seeds along with ordinary sunflower seeds.
  • Aistena offered to obtain three hundred Snow-White Death God rabbits, which could control snow and help cultivate ice-element magic plants.
  • Kroya proposed trading Sea Spirit Lingzhi Potions for the rabbits and sunflowers, then sent Aistena three hundred bottles for testing.
  • Aistena tasted a bottle, experienced an extraordinary clarity of mind, and retrieved another bottle before seeking his mentor’s help.

Ch. 160The truly greedy "human"

Aistena brought Kroya’s potion to Celesty, who praised its effects, backed Kroya’s wager, and sent him a magical plant. On Reef Island, Ryan and the others defeated the Flowers of Mammon, Jit took control of the Demon, and the castle began walking toward Reef Island.

  • Aistena asked Celesty to examine Kroya’s Sea Spirit Lingzhi Potion, and she tasted it and valued it at one level-one magic crystal.
  • Celesty learned how Kroya had been targeted over the wager, affirmed that the Mage Association must honor it, and warned that she would punish Keton if he disgraced mages.
  • Celesty gave Aistena a level-three narcissus seedling for Kroya and told the Tower Spirit that Kroya possessed one of her Magic Tools.
  • On Reef Island, the Priest used Hell Roar Magic against the Flowers of Mammon, and Ryan cut through its vines while the apprentices attacked.
  • Jit overcame the Flowers of Mammon and declared that someone was waiting for him, while Ryan sensed that he meant their master, Kroya.
  • The castle grew flower-vine legs and began moving across the snow toward Reef Island.
