The Akatsuki had finished sealing the One-Tail, but they were still gathered together. Deidara could not help speaking up. "Has the Uchiha clan really been wiped out?"
Everyone turned to Uchiha Itachi. Only then did he speak. "I'm certain the clan was wiped out. They must be people who left the village beforehand."
Uchiha Itachi thought of Madara, but he was more worried about the village. He was Konoha's spy, having secured peace for the village through his own sacrifice before infiltrating this organization. He had originally thought he could monitor the masked Madara's movements, but he had never expected something like this to happen.
"Everyone, keep an eye on those two. They can easily control tailed beasts and extract their chakra. They're powerful," Pain said.
Black and White Zetsu remained silent throughout. There was no telling what Black Zetsu was thinking. After the meeting ended, Black and White Zetsu went to find Madara Uchiha.
"Tobi, what should we do about those two Uchiha?"
"Gather intelligence and have Pain eliminate them. We can't let anyone outside the plan interfere with it." Behind his mask, Madara Uchiha-no, Obito Uchiha-gave no hint of what he was thinking.
"Understood," Black Zetsu said, then sank into the ground with White Zetsu.
By then, Uchiha Mu and Madara had collected the Seven-Tails' chakra. Its Jinchūriki was decent enough, though they looked dejected, as if no one had saved them yet. Uchiha Mu handled it easily, although any tailed beast he beat up might as well have simply handed its chakra over.
"So this is the chakra of the nine tailed beasts? Nothing special." Madara scoffed.
"Not yet, Lord Madara. Gathering it is only the foundation. We don't have the Ten-Tails' empty shell, so we'll have to find a way to fuse it ourselves." Uchiha Mu
