Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Concealed Mangekyō Sharingan and Hashirama-cell implantation 1 31 Before leaving Konoha, had awakened the Mangekyō during a wartime battle and implanted cells collected while Madara fought Hashirama. Already possessed Wood Release, Rasengan, and Shadow Clone, despite being known only as a three-tomoe user.
Nation-founding system reward 4 Receives greatly increased chakra, perfect integration of Hashirama’s cells, and stronger ocular power. Wood Release becomes smoother, while Mangekyō drawbacks are nearly eliminated.
Second-stage Susanoo publicly revealed 8 10 Uses it to drive away invading forces. After observing the battle, Madara concludes that Mu could manifest a Perfect Susanoo; Mu deliberately withholds his full strength.
Mystical Palm Technique developed 17 Studies Ashina’s healing chakra and develops a medical technique requiring precise chakra control but no hand seals.
Increased chakra and Spatial Perception Talent 23 A further system reward raises his reserves toward tailed-beast scale, though still below the Nine-Tails. Spatial perception allows him to sense fluctuations in space and prepares him to learn Flying Thunder God.
Flying Thunder God mastered 39 Masters Tobirama’s space-time technique after acquiring spatial talent, allowing him to travel with much greater confidence.
Sage Mode and amplified complete Susanoo demonstrated 69 Uses Sage Mode and unveils an enormous, winged cyan Susanoo. Ocular amplification strengthens the form and allows him to move anywhere inside it.
Further self-developed kekkei genkai and forbidden techniques 70 By this point, has developed several additional kekkei genkai and enough forbidden techniques to be considered a master of forbidden jutsu.
Country system Level 2 80 Absorbing the Land of Demons meets the upgrade requirements. Chakra nearly doubles to roughly Nine-Tails level, ocular power rises, and Mangekyō blindness becomes impossible. Natural affinity allows easy absorption of natural energy and entry into Sage Mode.

Background / History

Mu is a transmigrator who lived through the Warring States Period as an Uchiha shinobi. He kept a low profile while copying techniques from Senju opponents, secretly awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan, and collecting Hashirama’s cells for transplantation. His clan consequently underestimated him as a reasonably capable three-tomoe user with swordsmanship and Fire Release 1 16 31.

Before Konoha’s founding, he rescued Hyuga Lingnai when she was attacked outside her clan’s protection. She subsequently sought him out repeatedly, making him more conspicuous than he preferred. An elderly Uchiha also saved and cared for Mu earlier in his life; Mu later returns to repay that kindness with money 1 42.

Following Madara’s departure, Mu obeys his system’s instruction to establish a village. He leaves without consulting his clan, takes Izuna’s abandoned sword, and accepts Lingnai as his companion. Rather than immediately seize territory, he finances his project through genjutsu-assisted theft from wealthy nobles, seeking to avoid provoking the daimyo and Five Great Nations 1.

Appearance

Mu wears clothing bearing the Uchiha Clan’s fan emblem. His Hashirama-cell transplantation is visible when he exposes his upper body 17 31.

  • Sharingan: Can display three tomoe or an intricate Mangekyō pattern 5 42.
  • Transplanted tissue: Part of his arm is made from Hashirama’s cells 31.
  • Susanoo: Cyan; its amplified complete form is enormous and winged 69.

Personality

Mu combines a reformer’s ambitions with calculated self-interest. He rejects treating shinobi as expendable tools, teaches loyalty to a nation rather than a clan, and directs ninja abilities toward construction, medicine, and civilian services. His long-term peace strategy emphasizes economic, technological, and cultural influence rather than unification through force alone 4 31 98.

His generosity often serves political goals. Training Uzumaki children builds genuine strength while gradually binding their clan to his nation; loans, trade, and shared profits similarly make other villages dependent on him. His recruitment network also takes children who are not orphans, and children who refuse to settle are put to work in Kakuzu’s merchant association. He later uses forced labor against surrendered enemies and seeks to prolong war to weaken rival villages 17 37 40 99 115.

Although highly confident, Mu can reconsider his judgments. Setsuna’s accusation that he is himself arrogant makes him recognize his prejudice against the Uchiha. He also accepts Keiko’s advice to reduce spending when the treasury runs a deficit 29 43.

His family sees a warmer, playful side. He restrains his ocular power rather than risk hurting Kyu, eagerly shows his children new technology, and apologizes after a dangerous journey leaves them without him for two years. Administrative work exhausts him, despite his effectiveness as a leader 68 99 114 115.

Abilities & Skills

Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan

  • Observation and copying: Reads opponents’ movements and chakra flow, predicts attacks, and copies techniques—including Senju swordsmanship 16 18.
  • Ocular amplification: Strengthens techniques such as Majestic Destroyer Flame and his complete Susanoo 8 69.
  • Eyesight preservation: Hashirama’s cells initially make blindness difficult; the Level 2 reward later removes the risk entirely 31 80.
  • Resistance to ocular control: Overpowers Danzō’s Kotoamatsukami and causes Itachi’s Tsukuyomi attempt to backfire through superior ocular power 105 112.
  • Rinnegan limitation: The Level 2 account identifies Eternal Mangekyō as his ceiling without stimulation from Indra’s chakra or another system reward; no Rinnegan awakening is documented 80.

Genjutsu

  • Combat control: Makes Konoha’s representatives nearly attack one another, immobilizes opponents, and subdues Matatabi with a glance 5 26.
  • Instruction: Lets students experience techniques directly, including chakra nature transformations and medical ninjutsu 17 45 46.
  • Large-group targeting: Draws an entire teaching gathering—including Hashirama, Tobirama, Mito, and the Nine-Tails—into an instructional illusion 45 46.
  • Limits: Ashina escapes quickly, while Hashirama can leave the teaching illusion at will. Genjutsu fails against a Mōryō-powered opponent whose chakra behaves chaotically 17 45 77.

Susanoo

  • Second stage: Uses it as a public deterrent against invading shinobi; his Wood Clones can also manifest this stage 8 112.
  • Amplified complete form: Grows far beyond Kyu’s Susanoo-clad construct and exceeds Madara’s Susanoo in raw strength 69.
  • Internal mobility: Can relocate anywhere inside the complete form, preventing Kyu from pinpointing his body 69.
  • Combat comparison: His greater power does not automatically defeat Madara, whose superior swordsmanship and technique keep their duel even 69.

Hashirama’s Cells and Wood Release

  • Integration: The founding reward perfectly integrates the transplanted cells and improves his control of Wood Release 4.
  • Ocular support: The cells strengthen his ocular power and help preserve his Mangekyō eyesight 31.
  • Wood Clones: Creates durable combat doubles capable of using Susanoo; one captures Itachi and Kisame while Mu attends to another task 112.
  • Research caution: His researchers find ordinary Hashirama-cell transplantation unsafe because the cells are excessively vigorous 58.

Chakra, Sage Mode, and Clone Techniques

  • Chakra reserves: Reach roughly the Nine-Tails’ level after the Level 2 upgrade 80.
  • Sage Mode: Enhances his combat and sensory abilities; he uses it to dismantle Kusagakure’s resistance 98 99.
  • Multiple Shadow Clones: Supports teaching, construction, administration, research, and inspections across his territory 4 23 115.
  • Extended deployment: Supplies fresh clones with tailed-beast chakra before leaving on a long journey 103.
  • Limits: Clones divide his chakra and eventually disappear. Their gradual loss during his two-year absence reduces national efficiency and causes public anxiety 114 125.

Space-Time Ninjutsu

  • Flying Thunder God: Teleports himself, companions, and recruits through marked coordinates 50 53.
  • Group transport: Links Uchiha recruits with tailed-beast chakra to move them together 50.
  • Spatial perception: Tracks fluctuations associated with Obito’s technique, repeatedly intercepting him when he reappears 111.
  • Evasion: Escapes Amaterasu and close-range attacks by shifting between coordinates placed around the battlefield 111 112.
  • Mark limitation: A mark placed on Madara’s clothing is lost when he changes clothes 53.

Elemental Ninjutsu and Technique Development

  • Fire Release: Uses Majestic Destroyer Flame to devastate invading ranks and counter Kisame’s Water Release 8 111.
  • Earth Release: Clears land and expands the village’s boundaries 4.
  • Water and Lava Release: Combines Great Waterfall Technique with Lava Rock Technique to create intense heat and steam 68.
  • Breadth: Knows ninjutsu of every nature and develops additional kekkei genkai 69 70.
  • Other techniques: Uses Rasengan, paralysis jutsu, and crow summoning 5 16 68.

Medical Ninjutsu, Sealing, and Barriers

  • Mystical Palm Technique: Develops and teaches a hand-seal-free healing technique requiring extremely precise chakra control 17.
  • Uzumaki sealing knowledge: Obtains most of the clan’s sealing and barrier techniques through exchange with Ashina 17.
  • Uchiha Yang Formation: Creates a barrier by combining the Uchiha Flame Formation with Uzumaki methods; it can withstand tailed-beast attacks 69.
  • Tailed-beast extraction: Opens Naruto’s seal, removes four tails’ worth of Nine-Tails chakra, and reseals the beast 107.
  • Reaper Death Seal: Does not initially receive it and later declines to request it out of respect for Ashina 17 107.

Taijutsu, Swordsmanship, and Teaching

  • Close combat: Defeats young Danzō without activating his Sharingan and overwhelms twenty Uzumaki trainees fighting together 40 45.
  • Fundamentals: Uses basic techniques with exceptional timing, including Substitution during his fight with his children 68.
  • Personalized training: Emphasizes chakra control, practical combat, suitable techniques, and sparring against his clones rather than indiscriminate jutsu accumulation 15 37 46.
  • Instructional reach: Eventually delegates most Academy teaching to trained successors, reducing his own classes to three per term 92.

Governance, Commerce, and Technology

  • National integration: Disperses clan members rather than allowing entrenched clan power blocs, encouraging identification with the nation 4 120.
  • Economic influence: Uses loans, merchant networks, investment, and shared profits to secure cooperation 40 42.
  • Technological development: Supplies electrical appliances and directs phone and computer development using system blueprints, laboratory staff, and manufacturing resources 13 23 80 99.
  • Surveillance: Plans hidden phone backdoors as an intelligence-gathering tool 99.
  • System constraints: Rejects military conquest because the damage to public happiness would impede future upgrades 80.

  • Keiko Uzumaki — Partner, secretary, financial adviser, and national representative. Challenges his spending and motives, and takes charge during his absence. Mother of Kyu 29 35 37 58 103.
  • Uchiha Kyu — Daughter with Keiko. Mu refuses to overpower her ability at the risk of injuring her; she later fears that his prolonged absence means he abandoned the family 58 68 114.
  • Uchiha Naoki — Son with Lingnai. Later studies information technology and develops mobile-phone software 58 115.
  • Madara Uchiha — Clansman, ideological rival, trusted companion, and sparring partner. Mu draws him toward national life, asks him to teach his children, and joins him on a tailed-beast chakra mission 10 31 53 58 69 107.
  • Uzumaki Ashina — Technique-exchange partner and political ally. Supports educational cooperation while insisting that Keiko receive proper standing in Mu’s household 17 37.
  • Uzumaki Men — Adopted pupil whose combat success establishes Mu’s reputation as a teacher. Mu supports his return to the Uzumaki and his relationship with Shana 16 18 35.
  • Uzumaki Shana — Academy student whose education helps prepare her to reform and later lead her clan alongside Men 18 34 45.
  • Kakuzu — Leads the trading company, commercial expansion, and bounty network supporting Mu’s recruitment efforts 13 40 55 115.
  • Black Zetsu — Initially an enemy seeking Mu’s death; becomes a reluctant collaborator after Mu offers help freeing Kaguya. Serves as intelligence minister and assists with paperwork 29 53 98 115.
  • White Zetsu — Intelligence source and agent used to supervise territories and influence Sunagakure’s leadership 90 99 115.
  • Hashirama Senju — Fellow peace-seeker with a competing political model. Mu refuses to return to Konoha, hosts him for an inspection, and later summons him after death to witness the war 46 98 127.
  • Tobirama Senju — Suspicious rival and practical business partner. Each reproduces the other’s techniques, while Tobirama also studies Mu’s institutions 39 42 98.
  • Uchiha Setsuna — Acting clan leader whose criticism forces Mu to reconsider his own arrogance and prejudice 43.
  • Kagami Uchiha — Receives Mu’s offer of training and later regards his demonstrated leadership as evidence that he would be well suited to becoming Hokage 43 120.
  • Chōmei and Matatabi — Tailed-beast companions living in his nation; their presence supports defense and shinobi training 16 26 27 79.
