Arc 13The Holy Light and the Horde

The Holy Church expanded its influence in Quel’Thalas and Stormwind, winning the trust of commoners while confronting nobles and preparing the kingdom for Medivh’s betrayal. As the Orc Horde crossed into Azeroth and attacked Stormwind, the Holy Light Clerics met them in battle, and Durotan saw the cost of advancing against them.

  • Alleria, Sylvanas, and Vereesa met Ria and learned that the Holy Church sought no invasion, while Alleria urged Anasterian to negotiate and later agreed to let elves believe in the Holy Light.
  • Rich brought Holy Light Clerics to Stormwind, where they treated commoners, and he persuaded King Llane to establish Church offices offering free healing and aid to livelihoods.
  • Holy Light Clerics confronted nobles who taxed and attacked the people, while Rich challenged their claims to rule and Llane began reconsidering the kingdom’s treatment of commoners.
  • Medivh appeared before Llane’s court, displayed a sinister aura, and vanished, leaving a black-sand hourglass as Lothar warned of danger.
  • Llane and Lothar visited Lakeshire, where Rich explained the Holy Church’s goals and revealed that a powerful being had possessed Medivh, then Llane agreed to pursue reforms for the people.

Arc 14The Holy Light Takes Root

Hexia and the Holy Church defeated the Horde’s invasion, brought Durotan’s people into a peaceful settlement, and helped transform Stormwind and the Orcs’ lands. As the Church’s influence spread across the Seven Kingdoms, Jaina and Anthony witnessed its impact on ordinary people while new threats gathered in the background.

  • Rend fell to the Holy Light Clerics’ gunfire, but Durotan and Bluntan rallied the retreating Orcs and launched another attack on the Clerics’ defenses.
  • Rich brought Holy Light Clerics to Stormwind, and Llane rejected the nobles’ resistance as the Church helped clear Orcs from the kingdom and punish abusive nobles.
  • Durotan defeated Blackhand and accepted Hexia’s offer of land and peaceful survival, then signed an agreement with Llane granting the Orcs territory and self-government.
  • Sasuke removed Sargeras from Medivh, and Miss Izumi began restoring Khadgar after Sasuke killed him to end the curse.
  • The Holy Church helped Stormwind reform, purged fel from the Orcs, and taught them farming and livestock raising while Durotan enforced new laws among the clans.

Arc 15The Scourge and the New Order

Arthas unleashed the Scourge across the human kingdoms, prompting the Holy Church and its Auxiliary Personnel to rescue survivors and defeat the undead. The kingdoms joined the Church’s new order, while Arthas turned toward Quel'Thalas and captured its capital as the Sun King faced his offer of undeath.

  • Anthony and Jaina saw the Holy Church’s standing among commoners in Emerald Village, and Anthony told Jaina that Dalaran would stay out of the human conflict and might support the Church.
  • Arthas took Frostmourne, killed Menethil II, and unleashed undead across Lordaeron as the Holy Church mobilized to confront the Scourge.
  • Holy Light Clerics and Uther evacuated Lordaeron’s survivors aboard a Sky Carrier, whose weapon destroyed the city, while Arthas escaped with the remnants of his army.
  • Anthony and Jaina met Kumata and joined the Holy Church’s Auxiliary Personnel, where they encountered powerful allies from other worlds preparing to fight the Scourge.
  • Auxiliary teams helped repel the undead across Azeroth, including Madara and Hashirama’s destruction of the army surrounding Alterac and Sengoku’s companions’ defense of Kul Tiras.
