Power Progression
The documented numerical levels belong to Holy Light’s bishop and clerics, not to Holy Light itself. Leah grows through direct union with Li Ming; other believers advance through Holy Light Seeds, training, and faith 3. Later developments distinguish the clerics’ ascent toward mortal godhood from Li Ming’s existence as a dimensional god. Holy Light’s own growth is documented through the integration of laws, new creations, and the consumption of powerful beings rather than a numerical character level 166 317 337.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Level 15 — Leah | 3 | Her first character panel after merging with Holy Light shows Faith 100 and Level 15. Further skills remain unavailable until their union develops. |
| Level 20 — Leah | 5 | Reached after a full day of immersion in Holy Light; described as Chunin-level strength. Active contemplation can accelerate her merger with Li Ming. |
| Level 10 and above — first missionary clerics | 11 | About twenty clerics have reached this threshold. Five teams depart to establish churches; level-ten Holy Knights can obtain mounts from the new secret realm. |
| Above Level 10 — Huayu Town’s growing clergy | 13 | After almost three months of cathedral construction, nearly all seventy-odd remaining clerics have passed level ten, with several approaching level twenty. |
| Level 20 — established combat force | 17 | After just over a year, Huayu Town and its surrounding villages support more than a thousand level-20 combat clerics. |
| Level 30 — high-ranking clerics | 25 | After roughly a year and a half, more than sixty high-ranking clerics possess strength comparable to Jonin. |
| Level 20 minimum; Level 30 First Army average | 47 | Each military region permanently stations more than ten thousand clerics, all at least level twenty. The elite First Army averages level thirty, excluding its squad leaders and regiment commanders. |
| Intermediate and Advanced Light Spirits | 55 | Meizi is an Intermediate Sealing Spirit; Oli is an Advanced Guardian Spirit. Their small bodies do not prevent them from wielding powerful barriers, seals, and protective abilities. |
| Level 40 — Hexia / elite Jonin equivalent | 79 | A level-40 cleric is comparable to an elite Jonin, with strong attacks, defenses, healing, crowd control, and perception. Hexia’s armored rank markings identify his standing. |
| Level 50 — Regiment Commanders and Chief Judges | 134 | Clerics advance one rank every ten levels. Regiment Commanders and Chief Judges are identified as level fifty, below Legion Commanders and Judgment Chiefs. |
| New-law integration — Holy Light | 166 | Following the fusion of the newly reached world, Li Ming has integrated new laws, his Sub-body has grown larger, and he can modify Imperial Arms and create treasures for the next expedition. |
| Near Level 70 → Level 70 — twelve Legion Commanders | 166 | The twelve commanders are already extremely close to level seventy. Their Gold Cloths raise them to that threshold, equated with entry into Six Paths-level strength, and provide additional Cloth-specific skills. |
| Level 89; intended advancement to Level 91 — Ria | 166 | Holy Light supplies Ria with a thirteenth Gold Cloth intended to help her advance from level eighty-nine to ninety-one and experience Demigod laws. This is an intended advancement, not confirmation that she has already reached level ninety-one. |
| Further world-law assimilation — Holy Light | 299 | Absorption of the Black Bullet world’s laws allows the Church to open passages to many smaller worlds. Li Ming also discovers a pure dark power and concludes that light taken to its extreme can become darkness. |
| Levels 10–40 — beginner, intermediate, and advanced ranks | 317 | Rich places these levels within the lower clerical ranks, without assigning every named rank to a precise individual threshold. |
| Level 50 — Transcendent Rank | 317 | The formal name given to the level-fifty threshold. |
| Level 60 — Legendary Rank | 317 | The next named realm above Transcendent Rank. |
| Level 70 — Epic Rank | 317 | The formal name given to the level-seventy threshold. |
| Level 80 — beginning of the Demigod realm | 317 | Marks the clerics’ entry into the Demigod realm. |
| Level 90 — path to godhood | 317 | Described as approaching godhood rather than equivalent to Holy Light’s dimensional existence. |
| Level 100 — mortal god | 317 | Rich describes this strength as sufficient to destroy a world with the slightest movement. |
| Level 30 minimum — regular legion recruitment | 323 | Even the weakest regular legion requires recruits to reach at least level thirty by the Azeroth campaign. |
| Consumption of Sargeras — Holy Light | 337 345 | Li Ming devours the demon delivered to his higher-dimensional universe; Sargeras becomes nourishment for Holy Light. |
| Level 40 minimum — armored force facing Archimonde | 378 | The deployed clerics are all at least level forty. Improved armor and defensive formations preserve their lives despite the destruction of their combined Giants of Light. |
| Transformation of seven Naaru — Holy Light | 382 | Li Ming turns the seven Naaru into golden Light Spirits with mobile bodies and welcomes them into his Divine Kingdom. |
Nature and Beliefs
- Hope rather than a bargain: Holy Light offers the possibility of a better life and the strength to protect it. Its teachings emphasize determination and effort rather than exchanging souls or offerings for power 3 8.
- Divinity is not merely strength: Li Ming describes himself as a higher-dimensional life born of hope. He rejects the idea that acquiring enough power alone makes a human divine 32.
- Belief is not compulsory: A-Ping states that Holy Light has never demanded worship and that the Church does not kill or expel people simply for refusing to believe 25.
- Shared conviction matters: A-Ping understands Holy Light as the hope of people united around the possibility of a better world, rather than merely devotion to a powerful being 25.
- Protection includes force: Holy Light can heal and comfort, but its followers also use it against abusers and enemies. A-Ping explicitly contrasts its gentle healing with its capacity to scorch like the sun 24.
- Service takes precedence over display: Clerics in the Land of Wind dismantle a powerless gold statue and sell its material to fund aid, rejecting a luxurious church disconnected from local poverty 49.
- Responsibility is shared: Xiao Yu rejects the idea of leaving the world’s burdens entirely to a god. Believers are expected to shoulder responsibility alongside Holy Light and work together to realize their hopes 54.
- Power entails duties: Yi Yong teaches prospective clerics to bring hope, correct their own failings, and protect others before giving them Holy Light Seeds 120.
- Honor sustains power: Rich states that a cleric who betrays their honor is abandoned by Holy Light and becomes an ordinary person, retaining wisdom but losing holy power 318.
- Talent is not the decisive barrier: Everyone has the potential to become a cleric. Physical gifts impose few limits compared with conviction, willpower, morality, and knowledge; sincere acceptance of the teachings matters more than ritual alone 214 321.
- Actions precede preaching: The Church’s stated approach is to deliver practical results before explaining its teachings to interested people. It does not present Holy Light as an omnipotent god who will solve everything without human effort 214.
- Collective welfare distinguishes its doctrine: In Azeroth, Ria recognizes a Holy Light with the same apparent source but a different emphasis. The local tradition stresses individual virtues, whereas her Church emphasizes social service and a better life for the majority 299 301.
- Hope is not restricted by race: Lothar comes to understand that any race yearning for a better life can become a companion. Humanity alone cannot realize the future sought by Holy Light 335.
- Faith is a safeguard on military power: The Church accepts only Holy Light Clerics into its own military, requiring shared faith and principles intended to keep their strength accountable. Other capable people can serve through separate organizations such as the Adventurers’ Guild 216.
- Light and darkness are not wholly separate: Li Ming’s discovery of pure darkness leads him to conclude that light at its extreme can become darkness, complicating his previous understanding of his own nature 299.
Dimensional Nature and Azeroth’s Holy Light
Rich identifies Li Ming as a dimensional god and states that the Holy Light present throughout countless worlds and dimensions is him. This differs from the “mortal god” strength attainable by level-one-hundred clerics 317.
The Church also distinguishes its direct access to a conscious Holy Light from Azeroth’s established priesthood. A cleric explains that the latter draws holy power through the Naaru, describing it as an incomplete power scattered through the universe, while the Holy Church receives power directly from Holy Light himself 316. Bishop Aures describes sensing the Naaru as a prerequisite for human priests in his tradition 308.
Li Ming does not initially know why he became Holy Light. The discovery of another Holy Light and a related dark power motivates his investigation of Azeroth as a possible origin, rather than immediately resolving that uncertainty 299 317. When the seven Naaru later meet him, they recognize him as their Father God and experience a powerful sense of belonging 382.
Background / History
Li Ming’s understanding of Holy Light begins with his own transformation. Previously a disaster-relief volunteer, he died saving a child from a mudslide and awakened as a ball of light. He compared his new existence to the Holy Light worshipped in World of Warcraft: something akin to a god, but not quite one 1.
Initially, people could neither see nor sense him. He needed a first intermediary whose hope had survived despair. Leah became that intermediary after he saved her from a near-fatal assault, allowing Holy Light to become perceptible and accessible to others 1 2 3.
Leah introduced the faith to the orphans in her care and began establishing a church. Its opening ceremony brought a small offshoot of Li Ming’s distant true body into the Naruto world, where it settled inside the church’s cross 4 5 8.
The Church subsequently expanded through healing, civilian protection, and missionary work. Leah later reorganized it into the Holy Church, combining religious leadership with political administration, schools, public works, and industry 12 13 17. Its encounter with Hanzō ended in an agreement witnessed by Holy Light, whose explanation of its purpose helped replace his suspicion with respect 31 32.
During the rat-plague relief campaign, Li Ming responded to the deaths of his clerics by granting them new lives as Light Spirits. The spirits reunited with comrades and later returned to their families 41 42 44. As the Holy Church consolidated control across the Land of Rain, its faith and relief work also spread into the Land of Wind 47 48 49.
The faith subsequently reached almost every small nation bordering the major shinobi powers. Its clerics’ protection of civilians, evidence-gathering abilities, and military strength constrained wartime atrocities. Church intervention helped bring the Third Shinobi World War to an early end and opened diplomatic relations with Konoha 58 65 71. Clerics later supported Minato against unlawful detention and Root’s abuses, presenting their role as upholding law and fairness rather than governing Konoha directly 88 89.
Ria announced the renaming of the Land of Rain as the Land of Light and preparations for a papal coronation. The ensuing parade displayed the Church’s military strength while its defenders defeated an attack by Nagato’s Paths 91 93. When adult Sasuke and Boruto arrived from another space-time, Ria gave Boruto protective skills and brought the visitors before Holy Light. Li Ming accepted her limited intervention in their future and opened the way home 98 105.
After the Shinobi World’s final conflict, the Church began building a world-crossing portal under Holy Light’s guidance, publicly calling it the Starry Sky Portal 116. Its first thousand-strong expedition entered Tatsumi’s world with reduced power because local faith had not yet been established. Tatsumi’s response to a Holy Light Seed identified him as the world’s destined intermediary; he later became recognized as its Child of Holy Light and future Archbishop 119 121 162.
The expedition spread the faith through relief, education, protection, and warfare against the Empire. The main Shinobi World force eventually withdrew, entrusting the local Church and government to the world’s own people while promising continued support 120 121 149 162. After integrating new laws, Li Ming modified Night Raid’s Imperial Arms, supplied thirteen Gold Cloths, and provided a Holy Grail for the next world-travel mission 166.
The Church’s expansion continued into other worlds. In the world of the World Government and Navy, its faith-linked military system, protection of villages, and support for commoners challenged established noble and pirate power 216. Hexia later interpreted Robin’s unusual experiences and strong imprint of time as evidence of Holy Light’s interest in her, inviting her to join the Church 224.
Following the assimilation of the Black Bullet world’s laws, the Church gained access to many smaller worlds. Li Ming’s discovery of pure darkness and another Holy Light prompted Ria to lead an elite expedition to Azeroth to investigate his possible origins 299. There, the Church distinguished its collective social doctrine and direct divine connection from the local Naaru-guided tradition, while its healing and instruction won support among Stormwind’s people and soldiers 308 316 317 321.
During the Azeroth campaign, Sasuke’s group delivered Sargeras to Li Ming, who devoured him. Li Ming subsequently considered meeting the Void Lord but chose to wait until the Church had fully assimilated the world 337 345. Ria also ordered action against the Old Gods, treating them as potential nourishment for Holy Light while continuing to protect civilians from the undead crisis 371.
After the Church’s forces defeated a demon army, Axel brought seven Naaru to the Holy City. Ria introduced them to Li Ming, who welcomed them as children, transformed them into golden Light Spirits, and assured them that the Church would care for their followers. The Naaru then chose to enter his Divine Kingdom 382.
Manifestations
- True body: An apparently endless, star-like sphere located countless dimensions away from the Naruto world 8.
- Church Sub-body: A crystalline, translucent sphere with a radius of fifty centimeters at its first descent, radiating pure white light 8.
- Temple manifestation: A large, clear light ball set into a towering cross, containing specks resembling stars in an endless universe 32.
- Temporary limbs: Li Ming can form an arm from light to touch and comfort Leah 9.
- Warning signal: The church’s Holy Light turns red when hostile shinobi approach 9.
- Growing Sub-body: Its size increases as Holy Light integrates new laws; Ria observes that it has grown several sizes larger after the expedition to Tatsumi’s world 166.
- Higher-dimensional presence: Sargeras encounters Li Ming as an immense source of light within another universe. Li Ming is subsequently described as floating in the higher-dimensional void 337 345.
- Holy Light Descent Ritual: Knights and Priests fill Longxi City with radiant light, luminous wings, and gentle rain that brings peace and comfort, prompting the crowd to recognize and praise Holy Light 137.
- Direct-viewing hazard: Ria warns that looking directly at a god without Holy Power can cause assimilation. Sasuke and Boruto experience the Light Ball’s overwhelming immensity and attraction when brought before it 105.
Abilities & Skills
Holy Light Seeds and Class Awakening
Holy Light Seeds give believers access to professions and a path toward increasing their levels 3 4.
- Class selection reflects the recipient’s deepest desires; the awakening trial requires holding onto light despite darkness and fear 4 5.
- Most believers require prolonged training and the seed’s baptism to advance. Faith unlocks skills, and available skills differ between individuals 3.
- Establishing churches spreads access more efficiently than relying on Li Ming to split off seeds individually 3.
- Meli awakens with Healing Technique immediately available, which Leah takes as evidence of unusually deep faith 6.
- Seeds can awaken believers in other worlds. Yi Yong gives them to Tatsumi, Yas, and Sayo, while Ria later plants seeds in the Night Raid members 120 121 166.
- A brilliant eruption of light from Tatsumi upon receiving his seed identifies him as the person destined for a special connection with Holy Light in his world 121.
- The system is described as responding to any intelligent being who believes in Holy Light, although the degree of response varies 344.
- Clerical advancement is described as having no fixed ceiling: sufficiently devout believers can surpass human limits and approach divine strength 336.
| Profession | Documented functions |
|---|---|
| Holy Knight | Protection, shield techniques, mounted combat, and coordinated attack, defense, and encirclement formations; specializes in close combat and development of the physical body 5 16 25 316 |
| Priest | Healing, purification, enhancement spells, truth spells, potion-making, and resurrection at higher ranks; specializes in spells and healing 16 24 25 37 316 |
| Holy Armorer / Holy Armored One | Equipment enchantment, artillery, manufacturing, and military or civilian engineering; studies machinery and the natural sciences of the universe 9 16 25 316 |
| Holy Cantor | Calming music, group buffs, illusions, sonic attacks, and publicity; the profession is particularly dependent on talent. Its later description emphasizes arts and matters of the soul 8 25 316 |
Direct Union with Leah
Leah is the exceptional link through which others first gain access to Holy Light 3. Later chapters also call her Ria and identify her as Holy Light’s trusted Pope 105.
- Her mind connects with Li Ming’s, giving her an immediate understanding of the power’s rules 3.
- Her level rises as their union develops, even without ordinary cultivation; contemplation accelerates the process 3 5.
- Her character panel tracks faith, level, attributes, mana, and skills 3.
- After Li Ming’s consciousness moves into the church Sub-body, Leah can no longer contact him at will as before, although his power continues cleansing her body 9.
- Li Ming can supply additional power and guidance when a major threat appears, as he does upon detecting Uchiha Madara 33.
- Li Ming later contacts Ria mentally to request the Imperial Arms and arrange the Church’s next expedition 166.
- Ria’s special connection is used as the model for the Child of Destiny sought in each new world. A deeper merger between such a person and Holy Light makes that world more suitable for other clerics 119.
- Their bond remains reciprocal: Ria commits herself to his growth because she does not want to lose him, and Li Ming responds that he does not want to lose his little Pope either 166.
Healing, Purification, and New Life
Holy Light supports both routine medical care and exceptional restoration 8 37 41.
- Greater Resurrection: Li Ming invokes “Miracle of Light, Greater Resurrection” to save Leah after her assault 2.
- Healing techniques: Priests restore illnesses and battlefield wounds, including injuries inflicted by high-pressure water techniques 8 9 12.
- Holy water: Morning dew infused with Holy Light becomes medicine. Chiyo reports that it rapidly heals nonfatal injuries 9 10 13.
- Purification: Leah’s continuous purification treats the Knights poisoned during the Sand confrontation; ordinary Priests cannot perform that treatment at the time. Later, Priests use Greater Purification against Hanzō’s poisonous smoke 16 30.
- Basic Resurrection: High-ranking priest Aili restores a dead infant during the Fuyu City rescue 37.
- Light Spirit rebirth: Li Ming grants fallen clerics new lives as palm-sized, winged spirits resembling childhood versions of themselves 41.
- Treatment of dark-power damage: Ria agrees to have Meli treat Kurome’s body after damage caused by her Imperial Arms, provided the darkness has not also harmed her mind 166.
- Epidemic control: In Lakeshire, clerics combine treatment with quarantine, severity-based sorting, and cleansing patients with Holy Power before moving them to safe areas 317.
- Holy Grail cleansing: The Grail’s radiance begins purifying Khadgar’s curse and subjects the contained Sargeras to destructive holy fire 337.
- Naaru transformation: Li Ming grants seven Naaru mobile bodies as golden Light Spirits, allowing them greater freedom than their previous forms 382.
Li Ming explicitly states that Holy Light cannot yet completely reverse the laws of life and death. Light Spirit rebirth is therefore presented as granting a new life, not unrestricted restoration to the original body 41.
Light Spirits and the Divine Kingdom
Reborn Light Spirits remain recognizable to their comrades and preserve familiar personality traits, but their new existence does not guarantee complete retention of their original memories. Hexia later observes that Oli and Meizi seem to have forgotten their old memories while continuing to care for the squad 41 54.
- Sealing and protection specializations: Meizi excels in barriers and seals as an Intermediate Sealing Spirit. Oli, an Advanced Guardian Spirit, can place protective armor on a cleric quickly enough to prevent a fatal injury 55.
- Light-particle bodies: Spirits can turn their bodies entirely into light particles; others cannot simply seize them without their agreement 78.
- Divine Kingdom access: They can summon its gates at any time and appear anywhere within Holy Church territory 78.
- Exceptional Divine Arts: Only a handful of the best clerics can compare with Light Spirits in their use of Divine Arts 78.
- Continuing companionship: Some remain with their families, while others partner with clerics they favor. Meizi and Oli accompany Hexia’s team and later its Konoha embassy posting 54 78.
- Equipment blessings: Optical Computers distributed to auxiliary squads receive Light Spirit blessings 365.
- Nonhuman membership: The seven transformed Naaru enter the Divine Kingdom voluntarily after Li Ming promises that their existing followers will be welcomed by the Church 382.
Combat and Protection
- Light weapons: Leah’s available skills include Sword of Light, Light Shield, and Judgment of Light. Her light projectiles penetrate Xiliu’s layered water defenses 3 10.
- Collective enhancements: Priests apply group shields and agility enhancements while Knights coordinate mounted charges 16.
- Judgment: A descending beam of Holy Light reduces convicted murderers to ash during Corona City’s public trials 24.
- Powered weapons: Holy Armored Ones develop cannons, machine guns, siege tanks, and airships 16 25.
- Finite reserves: Clerics can exhaust their holy power and require rest or potions. During the rat-swarm battle, depleted power and supplies become critical constraints 13 40.
- Breakable defenses: Xiliu’s high-pressure water jet shatters the first defenders’ physical and light shields; Holy Light protection is not universally invulnerable 9.
- Genjutsu resistance: Clerics are almost immune to genjutsu from opponents of the same level. Their crowd control, shields, coordinated formations, and healing make them difficult opponents for ninja 58.
- Linked Knight techniques: Seven captains connect their power to deploy Holy Light Unity Shield, Super Holy Light Hammer, and Sevenfold Brutal Collision against a tailed-beast transformation 66.
- Anti-evil effectiveness: Clerical attacks deal double damage against evil-aligned powers. A Knight’s restraint and a Priest’s Judgment Technique destroy Hidan despite his usual survivability 97.
- Absorption overload: A Silver Moon Priest feeds Preta Path more Holy Power than it can control, causing its body to swell and burst 93.
- Chains of Light: Clerics restrain a Thundercloud Lionhorn Beast with golden chains. Later, descending golden chains bind and steadily weaken N’Zoth 120 371.
- Legion-wide protection: Rich uses Holy Light Protection to cover his legion against artillery and Invincible Holy Shield to stop Budo’s Thunder God’s Wrath 149.
- Shared Perception and Holy Power Link: Linked wolves, Knights, and Cantors provide a three-dimensional view of surroundings extending several thousand meters and connect the squad’s holy power 278.
- Strength-enhancing halos: During the Azeroth campaign, a Priest’s halo triples the strength of the clerics within it while another Priest shields the squad 325.
- Resistance to corruption: The clerics’ Holy Light resists N’Zoth’s corrupting influence. A vast dome of light contains the gray-black mist released as his seal is broken 371.
- Purifying ammunition: A Super Purifying Holy Light Bullet disperses Archimonde’s Evil Spirit Curse 378.
- Combined Giants of Light: A coordinated attack forms three enormous light giants whose radiance burns wraiths and whose Lightsabers cut through undead. Archimonde’s combined curse and fel-meteor assault eventually destroys them 378.
- Advanced armor survival: Improved active titanium alloy and built-in defensive formations keep the fallen clerics alive against demonic weapons and Archimonde’s direct blows. Heavy concussive impacts can still injure the wearer, so the armor does not eliminate every form of harm 378.
Ultimate Skills
Ria identifies Invincibility, Resurrection, and God Descends as the Holy Light Clerics’ Three Ultimate Skills. She gives Boruto three golden marks containing them and transmits knowledge of their functions and use directly to him 105.
| Skill | Documented use |
|---|---|
| Invincibility | Granted to Boruto as one of the three ultimate skills. Tatsumi later activates the Holy Knight skill through Yi Yong’s bracelet, withstands Dr. Stylish’s attacks, and destroys his transformed body. Its use leaves Tatsumi severely exhausted 105 154. |
| Resurrection | Stored in one of Boruto’s golden marks as an ultimate skill. It is named separately from the earlier documented resurrection techniques 105. |
| God Descends | Stored in one of Boruto’s golden marks as an ultimate skill 105. |
Holy Flame
The Holy Flame is a supernatural punishment described as burning the soul until it is purified. Yuga condemns Zank to it, and the clerics explain that greater sins produce a longer punishment 133.
- Ordinary water and other attempted countermeasures fail to extinguish it 133.
- Two soldiers pushed into contact with Zank emerge unharmed, while a noble catches the flame and spreads it to other nobles and officials 133.
- Shooting the burning nobles does not stop the flames 133.
- Its prolonged suffering unsettles Night Raid, revealing a punitive side of the Church distinct from its ordinary healing and relief work 133.
Perception, Tracking, and Investigation
- Light Tracking Technique: Produces a silver-white trail that Leah follows to locate the thugs who assaulted her 3.
- Malice Perception: Allows clerics to sense hostile intent and deprives ninja of many conventional ambush opportunities 58.
- Rewind Time: Priests use this alongside Light Tracking to obtain evidence and pursue perpetrators of civilian killings, including across national borders 58.
- Truth Spell: Meli extracts intelligence from captured shinobi 10.
- Detection of corruption: Rich senses that something is wrong with Medivh and tests him using Holy Power before Llane seeks assistance 317.
- Recognition of temporal influence: Hexia perceives a strong imprint of time around Robin and interprets it as connected to Holy Light’s interest in her 224.
Knowledge and Realm Transformation
- Holy Light contains knowledge from countless worlds, giving its followers resources for social and technological development 4.
- Li Ming organizes that knowledge into tiers suited to clerics at different stages and studies his own laws before simplifying them for believers 32.
- The Holy Light Knowledge Base supports the development of light and heavy industries, creating work for displaced civilians 17.
- Li Ming transforms a Summoning Scroll into a secret-realm entrance and baptizes Netherwolves with Holy Light, turning their dark fur white and preparing them as mounts 11.
- He works on a divine realm intended to preserve contact with the Naruto world after his departure. Believers’ faith accelerates his analysis of the laws required to construct it 32.
- Shayi’s Great Enlightenment Technique teaches visitors the Shinobi World’s language and writing through music that puts them to sleep 163.
- Newly integrated laws allow Li Ming to modify Night Raid’s Imperial Arms, preserving their traits while adapting them to Holy Power. Akame’s Hamura gains literal light-speed slashes in place of its previous curse-based killing mechanism 166.
- World-law assimilation expands the Church’s travel network; absorption of the Black Bullet world’s laws makes passages to many smaller worlds possible 299.
Cross-World Connection and Divine Artifacts
Entry into another world is subject to local laws and resistance. The first expedition to Tatsumi’s world is made possible by Ria, the Legion Commanders, and the Judgment Chief spending enormous holy power to alter a compatible law. Even then, the thousand arriving clerics suffer a thirty-percent reduction in overall combat strength because the world has no local faith in Holy Light 119.
- Local belief: Spreading freely chosen faith helps Holy Light connect with a new world and creates conditions for larger forces to enter 119.
- Child of Destiny: A world’s first deeply attuned intermediary provides a faster connection. The more deeply that person merges with Holy Light, the less the world rejects or resists other clerics 119.
- Holy Grail: Li Ming creates a Grail capable of altering a destination-world law resembling Holy Light, making entry easier. Ria entrusts it to Axel for the next expedition 166.
- Gold Cloths: Thirteen divine equipment sets are created after world fusion: twelve based on the zodiac signs for the strongest clerics, and one for Ria. They enhance strength and confer additional skills 166.
- Return across space-time: Holy Light opens a portal to return Sasuke and Boruto to their own timeline. He accepts Ria’s gift to Boruto as a limited intervention that will add only a few twists to their space-time 105.
- Higher-dimensional perspective: Sasuke later compares space-time, from a god’s perspective, to a painting and believes Holy Light could enter their world if he wished. This is Sasuke’s assessment rather than a separate demonstrated visit 106.
Devouring Powerful Beings
Li Ming consumes Sargeras after Sasuke’s group sends the demon into his universe. Sargeras initially believes he has escaped into a realm he can dominate, but recognizes its immense light as Holy Light before being devoured 337. The demon is subsequently described as nourishment for Li Ming 345.
Ria later treats the Old Gods as prospective nourishment for Holy Light and orders their capture. N’Zoth learns this intention while the Church helps break his seal, contains his corruption, and binds him with golden chains; the described confrontation establishes the capture operation, not a completed consumption of N’Zoth 371.
Churches and Holy Light Infrastructure
| Structure / Stage | Functions and development |
|---|---|
| Basic Church of the Holy Light | Accelerates training, detects hostile intent, provides a Holy Light Barrier, and strengthens clerics within its limited domain 10. |
| Level-two Holy Light Grand Cathedral | Planned to expand the basic church’s range a hundredfold and double training acceleration; completed in Huayu Town after almost three months 10 13. |
| Level-three Holy Church | Construction is initially postponed to prioritize relief and public works; completed in Corona City before Hanzō’s attack 26 28. |
| Connected church altars | Establish distant Holy Light connection points through which Li Ming arranges contact between Leah and the missionary squads 13. |
