Lifespan was the most precious thing to any race. Even the noblest emperor could be worse off than a beggar when his life approached its end.
The founding heroes were no longer young...
A thick killing intent filled the screening room-a hunger for spirit veins, and a hunger for longer lives.
Besides, spirit veins could improve the Human Race's physique. At the very least, they could promote the evolution of human genes.
Looking at the myriad races and their diverse abilities, anyone who claimed not to envy them would be lying.
Over the following days, the Human Race leadership began studying tactics, tailoring their strategies to the traits of the myriad races.
By sending them that information, Father God was telling them that a Star War was approaching. They had to prepare.
The major arms factories began working overtime to manufacture ammunition. War was coming!
Seeing the Human Race's excitement, Zhang Yang did not remain idle either. He instantly appeared on the Starry Sky Virtual Platform and went to the battle record rankings.
According to the Battle Record Rankings rules, Star Lords could only challenge those ranked within twenty places above them.
Hundreds of thousands of Star Lords had zero wins, all tied and arranged at random.
Zhang Yang examined the twenty civilized planets ahead of Blue Star. There were orcs, elves, skeletons, the God Race... the Ghost Race, and the Immortal Race.
His luck was fairly good. Four of the twenty planets belonged to Immortal Race civilizations.
Without hesitation, he chose to declare war on them!
[Rejected! Rejected! Rejected!] [Planet "Cross" has accepted the declaration of war!] [Blue Star attacks: Cross defends]
A towering Star Gate slowly appeared on Blue Star's Firmament Continent.
The Star Gate stood in the northwest of the Firmament Continent, relatively close to the Dwarf Race.
[Both sides may make preparations. Countdown until the Star Gate officially opens: exactly 12 months] [As the attacking side, you may enter the Star Gate one month early to deploy troops in the staging area. Attacking/being attacked is prohibited]
The attackers could enter the opposing planet a month early, but they could only deploy troops near the Star Gate. They could not attack the other side, nor could the other side attack them.
There was no need to manifest on Blue Star this time. Sending the news directly to Ying Zheng would suffice.
After decades without war, the Human Race was already ravenous for battle, and now there was the temptation of spirit veins as well.
Once they tasted the rewards, the Human Race... would be more eager than anyone to wage war!
Upon receiving the command, Ying Zheng immediately issued a war order. Bai Qi would lead the Azure Dragon Legion on this expedition.
The Azure Dragon Legion consisted of five hundred thousand soldiers. Equipped with the best weapons on all of Blue Star, it was a combined-arms legion.
After deliberation, they decided to deploy two hundred thousand human soldiers and three hundred thousand dwarf soldiers-a total of five hundred thousand troops-as the vanguard.
If not for the need to plunder resources, the Human Race could simply drop mushroom bombs.
The planet had many resources they could plunder to further Blue Star's development.
They could also capture slaves and sell them on the Starry Sky Virtual Platform. Those were resources too.
Of course, all of this depended on defeating the enemy easily, or at an acceptable cost.
After all, their Blue Star had a combat power of eighty-eight thousand. It was hardly molded from mud.
The entire Human Race once again entered a state of war. This was their first declaration of war against an outside enemy.
The Dwarf Race's royal palace.
"Ring, ring! Ring, ring!" Sevi, the Dwarf King, saw the caller's number and immediately answered.
"Yes! Yes! Understood! I'll assemble the army immediately." After hanging up, Sevi's expression turned grave.
Had war come again?
Sevi thought, We Dwarf Race members will give this everything we have. We will show our mettle in battle and prove the value of our existence.
The purpose of their existence was to support human development and fight for the Human Race.
At present, the Human Race had only one subordinate race. As it developed, it would inevitably acquire more.
If the Dwarf Race could not prove its value, its position among the subordinate races would be that of the lowliest cannon fodder.
Subordinate races had to compete too!
Sevi shouted to his guards, "Relay my command! The Dwarf Race is to prepare for war. In one year, we march with the imperial race!"
Subordinate races called the core race the imperial race!
The Dwarf Race began to act. They cherished this happy life: no one bullied them, they had wine to drink and wives by their sides. It was like heaven.
They did not want to return to a life of slavery. They would give this battle everything they had.
Large numbers of defensive installations were deployed near the Star Gate to prevent the enemy from counterattacking Blue Star.
The imperial race had the magnificent Great Wall and could sleep soundly without a care.
If the enemy counterattacked Blue Star itself, the Dwarf Race would bear the brunt of it.
Careful sailing kept a ship afloat for ten thousand years!
They did not want the homeland they had built through countless hardships to be destroyed in a single stroke.
Their wives, children, and elders were still at home, waiting for their return.
Cross Planet. The Immortal Race.
Cross examined the sudden message. A Star Lord had declared war on him.
He looked at the message, somewhat puzzled. The Human Race?
What race was that?
What civilization? I've never heard of it.
He hurried to the Starry Sky Virtual Platform to ask around, but no one had heard of this race.
Then there was only one possibility.
Cross smiled cruelly. "A brand-new race? Admirable courage."
He directly transmitted his voice to the three sect masters among his Starfolk. A Star War would begin in one year, with an invasion by a foreign, brand-new race. They were to defeat the enemy and counterattack. The sect that performed best would receive a small spirit vein.
"As you command! Great Father God, the Heaven Sect will crush every invading enemy."
"As you command! The Earth Sect praises Father God."
"As you command! A brand-new race? Hmph. Our Immortal Sect will teach them the meaning of cruelty."
The three sect masters pledged themselves simultaneously and issued war orders to their sects.
An external enemy would invade in one year. The sects were to devote themselves fully to preparing for war.
Cross Planet had three great sects. They competed with one another, even coming to blows and fighting to the death.
All because Father God encouraged them to struggle against one another. Supposedly, competition was necessary for progress.
Hatred forced them to grow against one another until they became powerful immortals.
Cross Planet possessed three miniature spirit veins and one small spirit vein in total.
The three miniature spirit veins lay in three different directions across the continent, separated by ten thousand miles.
After the planet advanced to a second-level civilization, another small spirit vein formed, right at the continent's center.
The three great sects had each established themselves around a miniature spirit vein. Though far apart, they fought bitterly over the small spirit vein.
After all, one small spirit vein rivaled ten miniature spirit veins. Whichever sect obtained it could develop rapidly, destroy its two rivals, and dominate all of Cross Planet.
The higher their cultivation realm, the greater the Immortal Race's combat power and lifespan.
They were born from immortal pools, a naturally born race. An immortal pool absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and could condense one individual into being in nearly a hundred years. They possessed intelligence from birth and could choose their own sex.
However, the time it took for them to take shape was not fixed. It varied with the concentration of spiritual energy on their planet.
The Immortal Race's physiques were somewhat similar to humans', but their bodies were longer, slimmer, and lighter.
Both males and females possessed white wings, allowing them to soar straight into the clouds!
The male members of the Immortal Race were exceptionally handsome, and the females exceedingly beautiful. All were brave and skilled in battle. They were the darlings of heaven and earth, born warriors who also possessed the special ability Mindvoice Transmission.
At birth, members of the Immortal Race already possessed a hundred jin of strength. As they aged, they absorbed increasing amounts of spiritual energy, and their strength slowly rose.
The Immortal Race reached adulthood when its strength reached five hundred jin. At that point, they could perceive heaven and earth and comprehend skills. Each member of the Immortal Race possessed different skills.
Cross Planet had existed for 110 million years. The entire planet had roughly six hundred and fifty thousand members of the Immortal Race, along with three subordinate races of ten million individuals each.
Each of the three sects had one subordinate race. It was very fair.
Nearly five hundred thousand members of the Immortal Race had died in battle during the advancement from a first-level civilization to a second-level civilization.
Cross Planet had been unlucky too. In its advancement Star War, it had been the attacker.
Most of its immortals had died on the opposing planet, turning into spiritual energy that drifted away into the universe.
Had it been a defensive battle, even if they died on Cross Planet, they would have become the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and been absorbed by the immortal pools.
The time it took for them to emerge from immortal pools was not fixed. If the planet had abundant spiritual energy, they would be born faster and possess greater strength at birth.
Conversely, it would slow their births. Thus, spirit veins mattered more to them than anything else.
The Immortal Race had emotions, and they were proud. They looked down on almost every other race.
The God Race was an exception, however, because they were also born from divine pools. Like the immortals, they were darlings of heaven and earth. Still, it was certain that neither race found the other pleasing to the eye.
Where people gathered, conflict followed. The Immortal Race was no exception. Over tens of millions of years, they had evolved into three mutually hostile sects.
Seeing where the Star Gate had formed, the three great sects temporarily set aside some of their hatred and united against the foreign enemy.
Just like that, eleven months passed.
Both sides had finished their preparations. The Human Race had a basic understanding of the Immortal Race, but the Immortal Race knew nothing of the Human Race.
The time had come, and both sides were tense. Still, they knew the attackers had another month to deploy.
They could use this opportunity to see just what sort of creatures their opponents were.
The Human Race? Heh, heh, heh!
The Star Gate gradually lit up, and the first creature stepped through.
