So who was the mole?
The Group Owner privately messaged the Shadow Stream Deacons in the group one by one. This was a serious matter, not something they could reveal in a few casual words.
There were Deacons who knew about it, so the Group Owner went straight to those in the know.
One of those Deacons happened to have successfully escaped Koi Continent after taking part in an assassination mission. His target had been none other than Ke Meng.
As the Group Owner questioned him further in private, the Deacon described in detail where he had gone and where he had operated after escaping. He had not been coerced by anyone from Koi Continent, nor did he know the locations of every node there.
During their conversation, the Deacon also learned that the number of nodes destroyed on Koi Continent had reached triple digits!
The Deacon grew uneasy too. If they pinned this on him, he would be as good as dead.
"The nodes were a highly confidential matter to begin with. Even I only knew about a few of them. Every node I knew about was part of an assignment I supervised in secret. If something went wrong with those nodes, I'm willing to accept punishment. But please find out who leaked the information, Group Owner. I guarantee that I didn't leak anything."
