History
Origins in Chaos City
Goodness Home developed from the territory formerly known as Chaos City Outer City. Before the new name became public, An Kai defeated a Seven Kingdoms noble alliance plotting to seize the Outer City and allowed news of the alliance’s supposed takeover to attract newcomers 105 106.
After Dong Lin’s avatar was killed, Dong Lin disclosed Goodness Home’s strength to the Desert Orcs and Chaos City Inner City. The orcs withdrew from their conflict with the Inner City, while Chaos City’s ruler became furious that the settlement had renamed itself without permission. Goodness Home was formally recognized as a third Desert faction 114 115.
Destruction and Reconstruction
Chaos City’s City Lord attacked Hanks at Goodness Home’s entrance, triggering a battle with Widow Wang. Their spells reduced the settlement to rubble while An Kai raided the undefended Inner City 116 120.
An Kai subsequently forced the City Lord, Chris, into servitude and ordered her to rebuild. With her Earth Spirit and the assistance of other professionals, Goodness Home was restored in two months. The new city contained inner and outer districts surrounding An Kai’s central residence 121.
Rise in the Desert
Wayne organized the Demon-Slaying and Spirit Infusion Towers, turning resource collection and access to professional knowledge into a working civic system. Their advancement methods drew crowds of residents and refugees, helping Goodness Home surpass the former Chaos City as the Desert’s leading power 136 137 139.
The opening of the Undead Cage passage brought further immigration. Goodness Home established a toll city at the passage, then used nearly 200,000 enslaved orcs to build surrounding settlements and a connecting road 142 143 145. Will-Bukelin’s rescue work also improved its reputation and increased its population by thirty percent over five years 157.
Good People Island and the Chaos Sea
An Kai later cultivated a more welcoming public image around Good People Island. The rebranding replaced dark identification plaques with gold, white, and red tags, repainted his Castle gold, and required administrators to serve with a smile 194.
The expansion of the former Divine Court produced the territory named Chaos Sea. Goodness Home surveyed it, established 9,999 supply points, and brought twenty advancement secret realms to Good People Island. At an international summit, Wayne announced substantial access fees; when the delegates protested, An Kai openly described the arrangement as robbery 200 201.
Expansion into the Wealth Abyss
Goodness Home’s first Wealth Abyss expedition discovered abundant energy stones but suffered a goblin ambush that killed 10,243 members, mostly orcs. Research into improved Detectors and goblin biology supported the next phase of expansion 216 218 223.
An Kai shifted the organization’s main expansion effort into the Abyss, establishing a concealed mountain city as both a refuge and a resource base. Wayne’s Bloodwater enabled Beast Taming of goblins, and the resulting workforce supplied cores, construction resources, and agricultural fertilizer 222 223 224.
During An Kai’s fifty-seven-year lord inheritance, ten hostile Lords encroached on the Hundred Thousand Mountains. His return restored confidence, and the creation of hundreds of Earth-realm fighters enabled decisive retaliation. Goodness Home later forced twenty-four Wealth and Barren Abyss Lords into contracts that An Kai converted into Slave Contracts 249 250 254 260.
Concealment and Divine Conflict
After returning to the Divine Realm, Goodness Home expanded its influence while avoiding the growing divine-believer factions. Wayne moved it underground, and Western Continent Believers infiltrated more than five hundred factions to provide cover and influence 266 320.
Its campaigns against divinities and collection of Divine Court Longswords eventually disrupted the Divine Realm, Insect Realm, and Abyss 339. Later crises included a siege by fifty Fourth-Rank Divinities and the deaths of Mage Association members in the Divine Court’s time-distorted Fourth Layer. Chris protected survivors during An Kai’s absence, while An Kai destroyed Fallen City in retaliation for the displayed bodies of his followers 397 427.
After Wayne’s Death
Wayne’s death exposed weaknesses in Goodness Home’s administration despite his advance arrangements. Neglected containment allowed goblins, Green Demons, and orcs to spread throughout the Divine Realm, becoming its three most populous races in less than a year 484.
Chris initially declined to replace Wayne, instructing the settlement to await An Kai’s return. When calamities began eroding the Meditation Ring’s defenses, she emerged from seclusion and provided the authoritative leadership Goodness Home had lacked 492.

Economy and Resource Systems
Currency, Taxes, and Access
- Demon-Slaying Points: Initially exchanged with gold at a one-to-one rate, conserving An Kai’s limited gold reserves. Wayne estimates the system can remain stable for twenty years 136.
- Paid exploration: Discovering previously unmapped supply points earns Demon-Slaying Points, encouraging residents to map the Desert 137.
- Magic-stone currency: Lower-grade magic stones later become the principal trade currency. Four of every ten circulating stones go to An Kai as tax 194.
- Different tax rules: Merchants must pay in lower-grade magic stones, while residents may pay gold, silver, or copper coins 194.
- Entry charges: Immigration and residency fees are strictly enforced; Polpi’s early crackdown on resistance kills nearly 100,000 people 195.
- Secret-realm fees: One announced rate charges each Tier Seven visitor one superior magic stone and one hundred mid-grade stones for five days 201.
- Free entry for selected races: Orcs, Half-Beastmen, and dragons receive permanent free admission, but arriving orcs are subsequently put to work developing Good People Island 197 198.
Labor and Extraction
- Orc construction: The “Living Pile Driving” method consumes orc bodies and energy to reinforce roads and buildings. Orcs also supply labor and attribute gains 150 224.
- Goblin core harvesting: Enslaved goblins extract their own cores as offerings; their bodies are burned and their ashes fertilize farmland 224.
- Energy collectors: Wayne develops Desert Crocodiles into living collectors that support An Kai’s attribute growth 209.
- Lifespan research: Wayne and Li Dabao develop lifespan-reduction methods and pills that accelerate resource production, extend allies’ lives, and rapidly mature newborn controlled races 260 261 266.
- Territorial stripping: Orcs and giants excavate conquered Lord territories on a massive scale, leaving the Hundred Thousand Mountains devastated 259 261.
- Three Lights Policy: The settlement’s resource-taking tradition is summarized as “Take everything, plunder everything, dig up everything” 451.

- Immigration “baptisms” convert non-mages into mages, strengthen existing mages, and make newcomers probationary association members 231.
- Beneficiaries become increasingly devoted to An Kai, linking advancement directly to organizational loyalty 227.
Security
- Four Tier Four professionals guard the rebuilt city’s gates during its early development 124.
- Longswords guarding An Kai’s later Mage Tower kill anyone who approaches without permission 339.
- Barriers, Detectors, concealed passages, and the Meditation Ring protect the island and underwater base 194 379 448.

Players
- First arrival: Li Dabao enters Goodness Home as the first solo playtester. Ordinary breathing rapidly raises his level, while his insults provoke retaliation from residents who understand him 251.
- Failed deterrence: An Kai uses torture and military spectacle to discourage future players. Li Dabao instead praises the realism and power on display, drawing greater interest to the game 252 254.
- Return destination: Li Dabao is assigned to Goodness Home again for the second closed beta and believes his relationship with Wayne gives him an advantage 273.
- General policy: Arriving players are captured and sent to the Desire Abyss. One documented operation holds 3,214 players there 320 331.
- Li Dabao’s exception: His contributions to breeding research eventually earn him a comfortable lifestyle unavailable to other players 339.
