"Huh? You're stopping already?" Li Xiaoya asked in surprise. Putting away his Shaking-Heaven Divine Fire Staff as well, he smiled. "Xian'er! Your new divine abilities are really powerful! They're almost on par with your Water-Fire Combined Strike with Senior Sister!"
"Ah! So what? I still can't beat you!" Liu Xian'er said glumly.
"Oh, my darling Xian'er! Do you have to give your husband a beating before you'll be happy?" Li Xiaoya teased, flying toward her as he spoke. He could have secretly gone easy on her, but she was fiercely competitive. Letting her hit him would only make the fight less satisfying for her. Besides, a real enemy would never hold back, so naturally, he had used all his abilities in their sparring match.
"That's not it!" Liu Xian'er brushed her slender, jade-like fingers through her glossy black hair, looking utterly enchanting. As she straightened her hair, she stirred Li Xiaoya's heart. "I just feel... the gap between us keeps getting wider, Ya," she said in frustration. "You never used to be able to beat me!"
