(Second update)
"A ninth-rank demon beast!" From its mountain-sized body alone, everyone could tell that it was a demon beast of at least the ninth rank.
"Wooooo!" The demon beast surfaced with half its body above the sea and gave a long, drawn-out cry. Everyone finally saw what it looked like: an enormous whale-like demon beast, blood-red from head to tail, with a huge fleshy horn on its head. Its blood-red eyes stared at the Whale-Swallowing Beast, brimming with hatred. With another furious cry, blood-red flames of energy erupted around it, sending violent sprays of water in every direction as it roared challenge after challenge at the Whale-Swallowing Beast.
"A Bloodthirsty Whale!" Li Xiaoya exclaimed when he recognized it.
"Tch! This fellow doesn't usually roam around here. Why did we have to run into him today?" the Whale-Swallowing Beast said gloomily.
"Uh!" There was actually a teasing note in Li Xiaoya's voice. "He's a whale, and you're a Whale-Swallowing Beast. No wonder you're enemies!"
"Hmph! You humans gave me the name Whale-Swallowing Beast. I was originally called Poison Octopus!" the Whale-Swallowing Beast snorted coldly, then paused.
"Oh? So that's how it is?" Li Xiaoya said in surprise, then asked curiously, "How did you two become enemies?"
"Hmph! This old fellow had something to do with my son's disappearance!" the Whale-Swallowing Beast said coldly. Provocative wisps of black qi began rising from his body.
"Oh!" Li Xiaoya's expression remained unchanged when the subject came up again. Suddenly remembering something, he asked a string of puzzled questions. "Wait, wasn't your son's disappearance connected to that Sea Flood Dragon? And if your son went missing, why is he coming to intercept you? He should count himself lucky you haven't gone looking for him!"
"Hmph! This fellow's useless son died at my son's hands!"
