The Imperium borrowed Anthony's Lunar-class Cruiser force and offered a pile of equipment as an advance payment.

Of course, if the Imperium played dirty, so would we. Whenever you couldn't find Anthony, you still wouldn't find him. Wherever the people were in trouble, that was where he went. We never responded to calls to join Astartes infighting.
Since everyone had suffered heavy casualties in this battle, we and the Lamenters left on our own to recuperate.
Chapter Master Maturio strongly insisted on continuing to fight alongside Dante. The Lamenters were brimming with fighting spirit.
(Previously, the Lamenters had been hot property because rumor said you'd cured the Red Thirst and Black Rage. But now your Death Company was almost as large as the Flesh Tearers Chapter's...)
Anthony opened the packet of instructions Evan had given him, turned to the section on the Lamenters, then quietly stepped aside and pulled Chapter Master Maturio away.
Anthony whispered to them that William's force was in danger and asked them to go help.
And so, the Lamenters reluctantly parted with the main force.
Dante's main force advanced triumphantly, continuing to hunt down the surviving enemies, and then ran into an ambush...
The enemy used the same tactics as the Imperium, retreating step by step to lure them deeper.
Information across the entire battlefield was now a chaotic mess. Forces farther away couldn't make sense of what had happened.
