A band of Craftworld Aeldari roaming the Maelstrom Subsector had originally remained hidden in various places, following the guidance of a prophetic psyker. But they discovered that an unavoidable ordeal awaited them.

So they made every preparation they could to take shelter.

In the end, a Drukhari raiding force attacked them, and they lost many of their people.

The Kabal returned to Commorragh, and its leader brought a great many Aeldari slaves into the Haemonculi's territory without obstruction.

Flesh-crafted creatures surrounded them, grotesque masses of monstrous forms carrying advanced weapons.

The farther the Kabal leader walked, the angrier he became. Even these monsters have better equipment than I do. Where's the justice in that?

Deep within the Haemonculi's domain, a Haemonculus carrying a large surgical case on his back crept out of a corridor. Only when the mechanical door crashed down behind him did he finally breathe a sigh of relief and approach the Kabal leader.

"How many Aeldari?" A beam shone from his mechanical eye, giving the slaves behind the leader a cursory scan.

"Three hundred and seventy-six in total."

"Why so few?" The Haemonculus frowned, showing a hint of displeasure.

"We have to eat too." The Kabal leader showed no respect for the Haemonculus before him. He knew the fellow was merely a mouthpiece who could decide nothing.

"You came from this place. You should know the consequences of defying that lord's orders."

"Then you should know I'm hungrier than an ordinary Aeldari."

There was nothing pleasant about their cooperation. It was simply money exchanged for goods. The Kabal leader left with several rare Haemonculus weapons.
