"Techmarines, do you want the Chief Librarian to kick your asses?"
Situval's words made the Techmarines shudder.
If they blasted the Haemonculus to ash, how would they eat his flesh and steal his technology?
The surface of the Talos Pain Engine was studded with unexploded miniature missiles. Some kind of force field seemed to have stopped the ranged attacks.
The Haemonculus flipped nimbly from the Pain Engine's tail and leaped back onto its "Scorpion Back." Strange mechanical modifications had mangled his body beyond recognition, in ways even more blasphemous than those of the Dark Mechanicum. His augmented flesh lay exposed. Too many resurrections had dulled his soul, leaving him unable to properly control his limbs. Withered arms and legs protruded from his decaying torso, while sturdy new limbs brimming with flesh had been installed to make his work easier, giving him the grotesque appearance of a hairless spider.
Sharp surgical implements made from metals of every color allowed the Haemonculus to torment his prey anywhere, anytime. His black robe concealed the even more revolting attachment points, making it difficult to tell where these bizarre saws and syringes connected to his body.
An ugly rasp escaped the Haemonculus's throat. He seemed to be saying something, but before the Apothecaries could confront this disgusting creation, they had to deal with the Talos Pain Engine beneath him.
The Apothecaries charged while the Techmarines provided covering laser fire. Energy blasts struck the metal covering the Pain Engine, sending ripples across it like stones dropped into a lake. The flesh construct inside remained unharmed.
The counterattack came fast and without warning. The "Scorpion Pincers" moved faster than the Drukhari themselves-sometimes, they were used to catch Aeldari. Only a blurred black streak flashed through the Tactical Visor before an Apothecary took a heavy blow to the
