Ch. 161Three Cheers for the Chief Librarian!

On Vior'la, the Crimson Tide Chapter launched a massive combined-arms assault against the T'au, with Chief Librarian Mororis devastating enemy positions in an improvised eight-legged Dreadnought chassis. The ground battle intensified as the Chapter's tanks and Astartes broke through the T'au defenses, while Reaver Titans closed on the XV139 Supreme Armor.

  • Evan told Annos to deploy Mororis in an eight-legged spider chassis, and Mororis immediately beat Annos before leading the Chapter's forces into battle.
  • The T'au defended their settlements with artillery, aircraft, auxiliary troops, and massive battlesuits as the human army advanced under heavy fire.
  • Mororis teleported inside the T'au shields, destroyed gun emplacements and a battlesuit, then blew up his thruster assembly to shoot down a Razorshark.
  • Roscoe Ground Sweepers and Astartes assaulted the T'au positions, attacking Krootox riders, Hammerhead tanks, and drone network platforms.
  • Mastodons rammed Devilfish carriers and melted them with their bunker-breaching weapons, while Reaver Titans advanced on the XV139 Supreme Armor.

Ch. 162Bowing their heads

The Crimson Tide broke through a T'au settlement’s defenses after its Titans and upgraded Steel Dragon supply trains fought off T'au forces. With the settlement captured and prisoners taken, Evan prepared to move against the T'au’s third defensive line.

  • The T'au air force attacked the Titans, but the Supply Transport One and Supply Transport Two trains drew them into a prolonged aerial battle and destroyed several aircraft.
  • Three Reaver Titans engaged two XV139 Supreme Battlesuits; one Reaver fell and was saved from a concentrated barrage when the Chief Librarian teleported adamantium plates over it, while two XV139s were destroyed.
  • The human army broke through the T'au’s first defensive line, and Terminators teleported into the settlement after Mastodon troops set up a Psyker Beacon, allowing the shield to be destroyed.
  • The Chapter overwhelmed the remaining T'au forces, captured the settlement, and took prisoners for Christina’s research, despite suffering damage to one Titan and spending heavily on orbital bombardment.
  • Evan prepared the Battle Barge to leave for the next star systems and advance against the T'au’s third defensive line.

Ch. 163Fast! Faster!

Evan’s fleet broke through the T’au’s third defensive line and raced across the Damocles Gulf, reaching T’au during the launch ceremony for a colossal Secret Cult warship. The Righteous Vigil was crippled by the ship’s electromagnetic and psychic attacks, but Imperial reinforcements joined the battle and began boarding the enemy vessel.

  • The T’au launched a suicide-ship attack, but Evan’s fleet scattered, laid mines, and destroyed most of the attackers before jumping into the warp.
  • The Farsight Enclaves and surviving T’au forces attacked Maturio’s fleet, while Evan’s main force crossed the Damocles Gulf and struck several T’au worlds.
  • The Secret Cult revealed its enormous Ideal-class warship at T’au, unaware that Evan’s fleet was about to arrive.
  • William ordered the Righteous Vigil to charge and board the warship, but its electromagnetic pulse disabled the Battle Barge and a psychic attack destroyed its bow.
  • Evan arrived with the Eternal Mountain and other Imperial ships, and Astartes and Imperialis Militia forces launched a boarding assault on the Secret Cult warship.

Ch. 164What do you mean, a flying hive city?

Evan and the Astartes boarded the Secret Cult’s enormous warship and fought through its defenses to reach the control room. Evan and Kazhaniv confronted the Secret Cult’s leaders, but an enemy transformed into a hulking warrior and left both Chapter Masters badly injured.

  • Rogier, Bars, Leon’s Blackshields, and the warriors of the Eternal Mountain advanced through the warship as Evan ordered the Astartes to strike its core.
  • Evan lost contact with the Chapter after turning down a junction, while Annos freed Mororis and the two decided to steal the warship.
  • Evan and Hasen uncovered the Secret Cult’s true alien forms, killed two of them, and used Evan’s acquired memories to find the leaders’ control room.
  • Evan and Hasen reached the control room as Kazhaniv arrived by another route, and the Astartes attacked the Secret Cult leaders and their guards.
  • A Secret Cult leader transformed into a powerful, grey-skinned warrior after absorbing the life energy of the Honour Guard.
  • The transformed enemy struck Evan and Kazhaniv into a wall, leaving both Chapter Masters gravely injured.

Ch. 165Clearing the Secret Cult's warship

Evan and the Astartes defeated the Secret Cult’s final defenders and captured their warship, while the T'au homeworld prepared to resist the approaching Imperium fleet. Evan watched T'au from the captured ship as the story left the coming battle unresolved.

  • Evan and Kazhaniv killed the gigantic xenos, while the Astartes and their allies fought through the warship’s defenses and captured its control rooms.
  • Vlorus led a charge with the Imperialis Militia, and the Baina Robe transformed his armour into a relic as Bars and Rogier fought alongside the Astartes.
  • Mororis and the Chief Librarian helped break the Secret Cult’s last stronghold, and the Astartes captured the warship after several days of fighting.
  • Tuqiluo tried to escape through the Warp but found itself imprisoned, while the T'au homeworld received warning of the advancing enemy fleet.
  • An Ethereal ordered the T'au to arm themselves, close the wormhole route, and fight to the death as the Strike Cruiser Steel Jungle neared T'au.
  • Evan stood atop the captured warship and gazed toward T'au, where the final battle awaited.

Ch. 166Our great Yi-merican army will treat you well

Evan forced the T'au to surrender, then planned to exploit their technology and faint Warp presence while his Chapter relocated their population and plundered their worlds. After more than three years of clearing the Three Hundred Worlds, a massive Warp upheaval brought the Imperium's forces into a decisive battle against Chaos, while Slaanesh invaded Nurgle's Garden to reclaim the Aeldari Goddess of Life.

  • Evan broadcast Exterminatus footage and demanded the T'au surrender, then destroyed their moon and defeated arriving fleets until the Awakened rebelled and the T'au surrendered unconditionally.
  • Evan explained that he wanted the T'au's uncorrupted technological knowledge and asked Christina to investigate breeding T'au with an even fainter Warp presence to create anti-Warp Centurion Armour.
  • Christina agreed to the project in exchange for a mountain of materials, while Evan ordered the T'au concentrated on a few worlds and the other species killed.
  • Human resistance leaders welcomed Evan's forces, local populations massacred aliens and T'au collaborators, and the Chapter postponed its purges while it cleared the Three Hundred Worlds over more than three years.
  • In Chapter Era 162, the Warp Storm dissipated and Imperial forces fought Chaos in a Final Battle, while Slaanesh and Fulgrim invaded Nurgle's Garden to retrieve the Aeldari Goddess of Life.

Ch. 167I closed my eyes, opened them, and the Astronomican was back-and I was surrounded

After the Great Rift closed and the Astronomican returned, Evan divided his forces between developing the Three Hundred Worlds and supporting the isolated Provisional Second Segmentum Pacificus. He reached Mavrek to demand the repaired Strike Cruisers and began negotiating with Archbishop Froes over ships, unpaid bills, and technology.

  • Annos requested one hundred warriors to train as Techmarines, while the Squats were assigned to study the Secret Cult's warship and the Chapter repaired and developed the Three Hundred Worlds.
  • Anthony helped preserve the Dawn Angels Chapter, then fought alongside the Salamanders as the Great Rift closed and the Imperium launched a new crusade.
  • Evan organized realspace transport routes, resource exploration, industry, and planetary defenses across the Three Hundred Worlds, while Maturio decided the Lamenters should follow Evan's methods.
  • Evan sent William to command the forces remaining in the Three Hundred Worlds and took the Light of Dawn with his companies to support the isolated Provisional Second Segmentum Pacificus.
  • At Mavrek, Evan demanded the three repaired Strike Cruisers from Archbishop Froes, learned the Chapter still owed for them and the Infinite Loyalty's repairs, and opened negotiations by offering technology.

Ch. 168I was lightning-fast!

Evan led the Astartes in an assault on Chaos-infested Paradise Planet, where he destroyed a powerful gluttony daemon and helped turn the battle against Slaanesh and Khorne's forces. The Crimson Tide and Lamenters routed the daemons, and the chapter ended with Evan declaring the war over.

  • Evan deployed the Light of Dawn and Supreme Abyss to Paradise Planet, where Chaos had taken hold after the stranded population descended into famine and slaughter.
  • Evan and the Astartes fought through the planet's fortress, and Evan killed the gluttony daemon possessing General Fluronis.
  • The Astartes burned out Slaaneshi cultists and daemons while advancing through the fortress, and Evan weakened their psychic defenses.
  • Evan raised the Crimson Tide Banner and led the charge against Khorne's forces as the Lamenters joined the battle.
  • Evan shattered the Khorne daemon's soul-forged horn and slew it, while the Astartes defeated the remaining enemies and ended the war.

Ch. 169Yi Feng's bizarre adventure

Evan’s Crimson Tide Chapter patrolled devastated worlds, rescued survivors, and purged soldiers corrupted by Chaos before withdrawing to nearby planets as Tyranid Hive Fleets began converging on the galaxy. The chapter ended with Ternos accidentally fermenting kolan into powerful anesthetic liquor, which Evan secretly secured aboard the fleet while Sak remained unconscious.

  • Evan’s fleet encountered warp-warped systems and escaped a pod of void whales before reaching a world where mortals had resisted Chaos for 176 years.
  • Evan ordered the Chapter to destroy the Chaos forces and put the corrupted defenders to death, while Vlorus recorded the soldiers’ names as they faced their deaths.
  • The Crimson Tide brought food and an Atris Astra Militarum garrison to the planet, then focused on nearby worlds as Tyranid Hive Fleets began answering Genestealer calls across the galaxy.
  • Ternos stole kolan from a sealed warehouse and fermented it with nearby fungi into anesthetic liquor that incapacitated Sak and several mortals.
  • Evan sealed the kitchen, ordered Ternos to surrender the liquor’s production method, and had Enke lock away the finished bottles.

Ch. 170Rogier's incredible good fortune!

Rogier’s force discovered and banished a Frost Demon on a frozen moon, then found a wrecked Imperial fleet and called Evan to salvage it with the Lamenters. As the Crimson Tide expedition returned to Stolov with its haul, an observer spotted an Ork fleet approaching and raised the alarm.

  • Rogier and the Wolf Cubs found evidence of a Frost Demon in a frozen colony’s heating pipes, and Bars led the warriors in driving it back to the Warp with a firestorm.
  • Rogier’s ships reached a nameless system filled with wrecked Imperial warships, and he suspected the Necrons had destroyed the fleet.
  • Evan arrived with the Lamenters, fought Chapter Master Maturio, and organized the recovery of the wreckage before the Necrons could arrive.
  • The Crimson Tide fleet bundled the salvaged ships into a metal ball and hauled it through the Warp toward Stolov.
  • An elderly observer on Stolov identified an approaching Ork fleet as Chapter Master Big Greed’s forces and sounded the alarm, prompting the Adeptus Mechanicus to hide its resources.

Ch. 171Outlets refused to concede

Evan negotiated with Archbishop Phinnis to process the Crimson Tide Chapter’s Imperial warship wrecks, then led a fleet to search a meteor shower for the treasure Outlets foresaw. The search uncovered a sealed golden toad and a strange bangle that transported Kuroser to a horrific swamp world inside its ring.

  • Evan agreed with Archbishop Phinnis to repair the most intact wrecks, smelt the rest, and trade the materials in batches over several decades.
  • Outlets entered a prophetic vision of a vast meteor shower approaching Atris and reported an amber-like object sealed inside a large meteorite to Evan.
  • Evan took the fleet to intercept the meteor fragments, and Kuroser used his Wolf Sight to locate and recover the meteorite Outlets had seen.
  • Evan opened the amber-like casing and found a golden toad-like xenos sealed inside it.
  • Kuroser found a multicolored bangle in a small meteorite, vanished when he held it to the light, and awoke inside a ring-shaped swamp world.
  • Kuroser began moving through the swamp toward faint laughter, crushing the strange creatures and vines in his path.

Ch. 172A bewildered Kuroser

Kuroser fought his way through the Chaos creatures inside a shrinking Jade Ring world and discovered a vast Warp Rift beneath an altar. Outside, Evan found the ring in Kuroser’s wrecked fighter, while Kuroser remained trapped and ran toward the edge of the collapsing world.

  • Kuroser explored the giant dead tree, found the Laughing Folk and a Nurgling, and killed them when he launched an attack.
  • Kuroser evaded the gathering creatures, reached their upper district, and found a Jade Ring at an altar above a huge Warp Rift.
  • Kuroser fled the collapsing altar as the ring world shrank, then saw its marshy landscape churn and collapse around him.
  • Evan’s rescue team found no trace of Kuroser in the fighter wreckage, but an Auspex detected a Jade Ring inside it.
  • Evan tested the Jade Ring with his Chainsword and Ion Pistol, but it remained intact amid the melted wreckage.
  • Kuroser, still trapped inside the ring world, found his armour failing and sprinted toward the world’s edge.

Ch. 173Welcome back

Evan investigated the Chaos-tainted Jade Ring, which ejected Kuroser before Evan sent it into a black hole. Later, Ina reunited with Evan during a Black Ship’s psyker-gathering mission, but an urgent report revealed that William and most of the T'au Three Hundred Worlds’ fleet had disappeared.

  • Bars examined the Jade Ring, confirmed it absorbed psyker power and contained Chaos power, and Kuroser escaped from its inner realm onto an asteroid.
  • Evan sent the Jade Ring drifting into a large, young black hole after learning it connected to a Chaos Daemon Realm.
  • Ina traveled aboard a Black Ship to Scaria, where the senior Sister began a mission to collect psykers from the surrounding worlds.
  • Evan met the Sisters of Silence, arranged for Ina to assist the Navigator, and began learning her sign language, mastering a collection of insults.
  • Evan handed the Black Ship a group of psyker prisoners and received a Blank shield, but William, the Cruiser Squadron, the Infinite Loyalty, and the Righteous Vigil were reported missing.

Ch. 174Supplies-now that's lavish.

Evan returned to the T'au's Three Hundred Worlds, where Drukhari raids and an awkward Rogue Trader encounter had left the region unstable. As new Primaris reinforcements arrived and Lian Leilo planned his own expansion, Evan prepared to retaliate against the Drukhari.

  • Evan sent fifty Astartes with the Black Ship as support, then departed with his fleet and a hundred of Lian Leilo's warriors for the T'au's Three Hundred Worlds.
  • Thirteen Deathwatch veterans rejoined the First Company, while eight newly trained Librarians struggled to understand the Chapter's plans and discovered their new home was the T'au's Three Hundred Worlds.
  • Evan found that Drukhari raiders had plundered one of the local worlds, while a Rogue Trader fleet had exchanged a few shots with the defenders before withdrawing.
  • Evan learned that William and much of the Chapter's fleet and forces had disappeared, though the newly commissioned Hurricane's Fury strengthened local defenses.
  • Anthony received five hundred Primaris warriors for his Chapter and the Dawn Angels, then raced with them to Stolov to claim stored armour and warships before sending about a hundred unarmoured warriors to Evan.
  • Lian Leilo resolved to expand beyond the Twelve Worlds toward the southwest, while Evan integrated Anthony's reinforcements into his squads and set out to avenge the Drukhari raid.

Ch. 175What Are Your Thoughts, Soldiers?

Evan’s forces assessed the devastation left by the Drukhari, while Techmarine Enke gathered survivors’ accounts to design a weapon suited to fighting the fast-moving raiders. Enke improvised a device for the jawless soldier Ka and left hoping his new design would work.

  • Evan led recruits through the ruins and considered how inadequate their weapons had been against the Drukhari.
  • Enke questioned wounded soldiers John, Lorant, Canvens, and Ka about the enemy’s speed, vehicles, and attacks.
  • John, Lorant, and Ka described the weapons they wanted, and Ka demonstrated the idea of a continuous beam like a laser cutter.
  • Enke produced an emergency device and inserted it into Ka’s throat, promising to arrange prosthetics for him.
  • Enke left the soldiers, quietly hoping his design would succeed.

Ch. 176Waiting for the Prey

Evan spent years preparing the Three Hundred Worlds for a Drukhari raid, and the Evil Soul Kabal finally attacked a fortified human world. Evan and the First Company launched a counterattack against the Kabal’s warships, leaving Evan alive and victorious after killing a Drukhari wielder of a Withering Blade.

  • Evan and Enke spent years searching for Webway entrances and developing weapons and defenses against the Drukhari.
  • The Evil Soul Kabal arrived through the Webway and attacked a planet, where evacuated shelters, mines, poison gas, and flamers slowed its warriors.
  • On the fourth day, Evan’s forces sprang their trap as Shadow Wasp fighters carrying First Company veterans assaulted the Drukhari warships.
  • Evan and the Astartes fought through the enemy ships with their new laser weapons and reactive-armour shields.
  • A Drukhari armed with a Withering Blade ambushed Evan, but Evan killed him with a laser cutter and recovered the inactive weapon.

Ch. 177A duel? A trap?

Evan and the Crimson Tide Chapter lured the Drukhari into a trap centered on a planetary arena, where Kazhaniv challenged and killed several Wyches. The Chapter teleported Kazhaniv to safety and destroyed the arena with a Lance beam, leaving Evil Soul’s forces caught in the attack.

  • Evil Soul abandoned his plan to tow the wrecked warships away and led his forces back toward the plundered world as Crimson Tide ships closed in.
  • Evan returned to a Crimson Tide warship, explained the Drukhari weapons to Enke, and began preparations to surround and annihilate the enemy in groups.
  • Kazhaniv descended alone into the arena and challenged the Drukhari; he killed two Wyches in duels as Drukhari gathered to watch.
  • When two more Wyches attacked Kazhaniv and a Kabal vehicle fired its Heat Lance, Chief Librarian Mororis teleported Kazhaniv out of the arena.
  • A Crimson Tide warship fired an enormous Lance beam into the arena, reducing the Drukhari gathered there to ash.

Ch. 178Traps on both sides

The Crimson Tide fought the Drukhari across the planet as Kazhaniv and the great Librarian Mororis repelled an attack, while Evan walked into Evil Soul’s trap. The battle continued around the crater as the Space Wolves and Crimson Tide reinforcements clashed with the Drukhari.

  • Kazhaniv completed his mission, and the towering great Librarian Mororis used his weapons to drive off the Drukhari vehicles before Kazhaniv leapt onto a Ripper and destroyed it.
  • The Crimson Tide pursued the Drukhari toward human shelters, while Evan raced ahead to find their leader and Maturio stayed behind with the Lamenters to defend mortals at a breached shelter.
  • Evil Soul’s Drukhari ambushed Evan at the frozen crater with a Gravity Well, and Rogier and Bars prepared to attack from the snow.
  • Bars triggered an avalanche and Rogier led the Space Wolves against the Drukhari, but Evil Soul deployed an anti-psyker device that suppressed Bars’s powers.
  • Crimson Tide troops and new Librarians arrived, and the Drukhari attacked them with vehicles and weapons while Enke’s reactive armour blasted attackers from their vehicles.

Ch. 179Just as planned!

The Crimson Tide fought Evil Soul’s Drukhari force in a volcanic crater while Evan remained trapped in the gravity well. Evil Soul raised the hidden Antimatter Transporter with Astartes caught aboard, but Evan damaged the device’s casing as an unexpected attacker struck it from below.

  • The Crimson Tide reinforced the crater, and its Librarians and squads battled Drukhari vehicles, weapons, and psychic-suppression zones.
  • Evil Soul fired a Dark Lance and killed a Librarian, but Rogier teleported onto his Raider, fought him, and knocked him off before the craft crashed.
  • Evil Soul ordered a retreat and detonated Stealth Bombs, collapsing the crater walls and sweeping many Astartes into the gravity well around Evan.
  • The Antimatter Transporter beneath the gravity well rose into the air with more than sixty Astartes trapped on it, while Drukhari vehicles escorted it and Evil Soul took control.
  • The Iron Dragon attacked the Transporter, and Evan finally reached his Ion Pistol and fired repeatedly, damaging the gravity well’s inner casing.
  • Evil Soul heard impacts and hurried upstairs, unaware that the clangs had not come from Evan.

Ch. 180Battle inside the Antimatter Transport Device

Kazhaniv disabled the transport device’s defenses, freeing Evan and the Crimson Tide warriors to fight back as Astartes boarded the vessel. Evan killed Evil Soul, but a few Drukhari escaped toward a ruined city while the battle and the Lamenters’ cleanup continued.

  • Kazhaniv rampaged through the transport facility, broke the Disordered Energy Defense Ring’s power source, and coated himself in radioactive liquid that killed unprotected Drukhari.
  • The Gravity Well shut down, allowing Evan and more than sixty Astartes to rise and charge into the facility as the Chief Librarian’s attacks disabled the transport’s systems.
  • Drukhari fled in small craft, but Gothic-class Battleships destroyed many of them, and Astartes reinforcements boarded the transport device.
  • Evan fought Evil Soul in the corridors and killed him with his Golden Power Sword after a blast disrupted Evil Soul’s attempt to turn invisible.
  • The Astartes fought the remaining Drukhari across the transport device while the battle on the planet neared its end, though several raiders escaped into a ruined city and the Apothecary tended to warriors in the Black Rage.
