Horus and Fulgrim fell silent for a moment. The room was so quiet they could have heard a pin drop.
"What the hell has gotten into you, Magnus?" Horus snapped.
"Hmm... well, this might really be rather shocking news, haha." Fulgrim was also struggling to make sense of the situation.
Magnus scratched his head frantically, then grabbed them both. In the blink of an eye, all three vanished and reappeared in Magnus's room.
The abundance of assorted "divine artifacts" in the room instantly told Horus what the Thousand Sons had been busy with.
"Magnus, these things in your room could draw dozens of Greater Daemons to Cabalide," Horus said angrily.
"No, it's precisely because of these things that I can discover the truth," Magnus retorted.
He waved his staff, stowing the creations away in a separate space.
Plenty of items still remained, however, and the largest of them was something neither of the others quite recognized.
"This enormous gestation pod..." Fulgrim felt that it looked familiar.
"This was the 'womb' we were born in. All twenty of us brothers were born in gestation pods like this," Magnus said.
Then he stepped forward and tore off the pod's wall. Rather than the elaborate life-support equipment they had expected, its interior mostly contained mechanical structures Horus could not understand at all.
"I took the components inside to Perturabo and the Tech-Priests. They all thought this was an exceptionally intricate Gellar Field assembly."
"If my suspicions are correct, we were the intended targets of this machine's Gellar Field."
Horus felt increasingly irritated. He folded his arms and frowned deeply.
"I'd still prefer you to get to the point, Magnus."
