Power Progression

The documented increases concern Wang Yan’s cultivation, the artifact’s restoration, and the cards’ performance, rather than an independent cultivation realm attained by the artifact.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Entry level of the Cultivation Realm — cultivation restored 9 10 13 After an unsuccessful water-energy attempt, Wang Yan adopts Card Fairy’s fire cultivation method. The artifact begins storing magical power, and the Fireball Spell Card lets him cast a spell he has never learned.
Minor attainment of the Cultivation Realm 15 18 21 Wang Yan’s breakthrough earns a Lottery Cube draw. His card-generated fireballs become strong enough for demonic-beast hunting and can be released four in succession, but he can activate only one card at a time.
Major completion of the Cultivation Realm 48 49 Wang Yan breaks through using Spiritual Energy Pills and fire-type Spirit Stones. Card-generated fireballs become substantially stronger, but a fully charged Fireball Spell Card now supplies only seven or eight casts rather than over a dozen.
First personally refined Spell Collection Card 59 60 81 Wang Yan unexpectedly completes his first card after Ye Shisan interrupts the final refinement. He later reproduces the result through deliberate research, establishing a reliable foundation for learning spells and crafting further cards.
Full completion of the Cultivation Realm 69 Wang Yan advances with fire-type Spirit Stones and receives the Ironwood Shield Card from his third Lottery Cube draw. He can initially unleash only half the power of its mid-grade Spirit Artifact.
Expanded spell and artifact-card repertoire 86 Wang Yan learns Earth Blast and Fire Fist through Spell Collection Cards, crafts three Fireball Spell Cards, two Magic Artifact Fusion Cards, and a Fire Blast Technique Card. His Heart-Control Art reaches its second layer, improving his spiritual sense.
Peak of the Cultivation Realm — Fire Spirit Liquid repair 110 Fire Spirit Liquid repairs much of the artifact’s damage and brings Wang Yan’s magical power close to Core Condensation. Internal card refinement becomes possible, and he can use one Spirit Artifact-grade card alongside two low-grade spell or magic-artifact cards.
Emergency empowerment by Card Fairy 129 Card Fairy expends her remaining power through the artifact to expel demonic energy, heal Wang Yan, and greatly strengthen his body and magical power. This is an emergency intervention rather than a documented permanent cultivation realm.
Core Condensation Realm — Flame Spirit Pearl repair 163 166 Further repair awakens Card Fairy, restores one-third of the fire-type artifact, accelerates internal card refinement, and unlocks the Backup Immortal Card Replacement Ability. Wang Yan can use four active cards and prepare two replacements.
First Spirit Artifact Smelting Card 167 Wang Yan successfully crafts a Spirit Artifact Smelting Card and uses it on his supreme-grade Truefire Moon Wheel.
Water-type fragment-assisted refinement 212 An additional water-type fragment permits limited ice spells and faster cooling during refinement, although the incomplete component cannot yet serve as a second dantian. Wang Yan completes his first Defense Puppet Immortal Card.
Expanded fire- and water-type activation capacity 249 The fire-type artifact can activate five cards, while the water-type artifact can activate three. Support cards occupy part of this capacity alongside combat cards.
Peak of the Core Condensation Realm 282 Wang Yan’s magical power increases substantially, and the Heart-Control Art reaches its fifth level. His Lottery Cube reward is a Divine Artifact Embryo, encouraging further study of formations and runes.
Golden Core Stage 300 305 Wang Yan stabilizes his cultivation and successfully refines Ancient Treasure Refinement, Advanced Spell, and Flight Acceleration Cards. His breakthrough reward is the Fortune Card.
Nascent Soul Realm — prolonged Time-Control Formation confinement 300 301 Wang Yan strengthens his Immortal Card Artifacts while studying formations, artifact refining, and talismans. Restoration of his original dantian allows cultivation through three dantians. He eventually reaches major mastery of the Nascent Soul Realm.
Major Nascent Soul Realm — expanded capacity and earth-type acquisition 304 305 The water-type artifact supports six active cards, the fire-type artifact seven, and Wang Yan can prepare five reserve cards. He obtains the earth-type artifact, but its severe damage prevents both earth-card use and opening its additional dantian.
Immortal Venerable — Heaven-Creating Formation and Resurrection Card 307 Wang Yan deploys countless Immortal Cards in the Heaven-Creating Immortal Card Formation and destroys Wang Ziling. He has successfully refined one Resurrection Card, but obtaining materials for further cards remains difficult.

Background / History

Card Fairy developed the Immortal Card Artifact to reduce the time cultivators spent learning spells. Her invention combines artifact refining, formations, pill refining, spells, incantations, and talismans. She describes it as unique in the cultivation world and claims that almost every True Immortal in the immortal world covets it 11 50.

According to Card Fairy, the artifact broke apart when she fled into Wang Yan’s world. Its missing components should therefore remain somewhere in that world, although neither she nor Wang Yan initially knows their locations 9 14.

After Wang Ziling destroyed Wang Yan’s dantian and nearly killed him, Card Fairy placed the surviving fire component in his abdomen to save his life. It became inseparable from his flesh and provided an alternative vessel for cultivation 8 9.

The possibility of creating a Resurrection Card changed Wang Yan’s long-term goal: he resolved to restore his parents and another lost loved one. Accomplishing this requires recovering the artifact’s scattered components, as only the complete artifact can refine and use a Resurrection Card 13 14.

Restoration and Card Fairy’s Recovery

The Four-Armed Stonefire Spirit Beast’s Fire Spirit Liquid provides the first major documented repair. Wang Yan notices faster magical-power circulation and additional runes on the artifact, while Card Fairy explains that it can now refine suitable cards internally 110.

During the confrontation with Wang Ziling and the Devil Lord, Card Fairy channels her remaining power through the artifact to save Wang Yan from demonic contamination. She warns that the expenditure will render her unconscious and that repairing the artifact is necessary for her recovery 129.

The Flame Spirit Pearl subsequently repairs another portion of the artifact and helps Card Fairy awaken. By this stage, one-third of the fire-type artifact has been restored, and its card-refining speed and replacement functions have improved 163 166.

Recovery of the Elemental Components

Card Fairy detects a trace of the missing water-type artifact in Kui Water Spirit Milk, prompting Wang Yan to investigate its source. The fragment has inhabited and merged with a Kui Water Lotus, obscuring its aura and accounting for the unusual milk. Card Fairy compares this to the fire-type artifact’s earlier attachment to nebula ore at the bottom of a lake, where it drew on the ore’s spiritual energy to preserve its awareness 190 193.

A later search follows the fluctuating aura of another water-type portion through snowy mountains and bodies of water. When the signal begins moving rapidly, Wang Yan pursues it toward the Wang Household on Azure Spirit Mountain 200.

By his stay at the Ma Family, Wang Yan has obtained an additional water-type piece. Although still too incomplete to form another dantian, it assists his puppet refinement through ice spells and controlled cooling. The water-type artifact later becomes functional enough to support three active cards and, eventually, six 212 249 305.

After reaching the Golden Core Stage, Wang Yan travels the Thirty-Two Kingdoms Continent with two principal objectives: finding the other three of the Five Elements Immortal Card Artifacts and repairing his original dantian. During his prolonged confinement in a Time-Control Formation, the Purple Mountain Medicine Sage restores that dantian, allowing Wang Yan to cultivate through three dantians while continuing to strengthen his artifacts 300 301.

In the Taiwu Mountains’ treasure chamber, Wang Yan senses an earth-type artifact inside a protected chest. He secures it through his treasure-sharing negotiations, but discovers that it is too damaged to open a new dantian or activate earth-type cards. He returns to the ruins to work on its restoration 304 305.

Fulfillment of the Resurrection Project

By the final confrontation in the Void Chaos Space, Wang Yan has become an Immortal Venerable and successfully refined one Resurrection Card. He remains unable to choose whether to revive Yun or his parents first. Having exhausted the available materials in his current Immortal Domain, he discusses searching the Thirty-Second Immortal Domain with Card Fairy. No resurrection is shown in their final exchange 307.

Appearance

  • Surviving artifact component: A small, red, triangular, metal-like plate embedded in Wang Yan’s abdomen without any visible gap. Attempting to pry it loose causes pain 2 8.
  • Internal structure: Wang Yan senses metal tubes serving as meridians and an extremely complex metallic space in which red spiritual light gathers 11.
  • Fireball Spell Card: An exquisitely crafted red card covered in fine runes. Its front bears the character for “fire,” two facing dragons, and a fireball; auspicious cloud patterns cover its back. Despite these designs, the finished card initially emits no detectable spiritual energy 12.
  • Water-Fire Blast Card: A red card depicting a taiji-like orb of intertwined red and blue flames, with its name written at the bottom 16.
  • Fire Blast Technique Card: A fiery-red card resembling the Fireball Spell Card, but bearing an image of buried flame 86.
  • Repaired fire-type artifact: Additional runes appear after it absorbs the Stonefire Spirit Beast’s Fire Spirit Liquid 110.
  • Water-type fragment: Initially encountered while inhabiting a Kui Water Lotus; Card Fairy clarifies that the lotus is its host, not the artifact’s actual shape 193.
  • Defense Puppet Immortal Card: Bears its name on the surface and is produced when Wang Yan draws the completed metal puppet into his body and expels it in card form 212.
  • Divine Artifact Embryo card: Depicts a smooth, armor-like structure resembling connected metal cylinders and spheres 282.
  • Concealment Card: Depicts a gray halo and bears the words “Concealment Card.” Activation produces a wash of gray light over Wang Yan 292.
  • Heaven-Creating Immortal Card Formation: Countless brilliantly colored cards create a five-colored formation tens of thousands of miles across, projecting divine beasts, mountains, ancient trees, weapons, giant puppets, and boundless flames 307.

Abilities & Functions

Dantian Replacement

The surviving component stores spiritual energy in place of Wang Yan’s destroyed dantian 9.

  • The artifact opens two internal channels through which he can direct energy into it 9.
  • Its initial fire component accepts only fire-type spiritual energy. Wang Yan’s water-based cultivation attempt fails and causes pain 9 10.
  • At low cultivation, withdrawing magical power from the artifact is slow, placing him at a disadvantage when using power directly 15.
  • Each elemental artifact requires a corresponding cultivation method. Card Fairy explains that additional immortal roots can be acquired when necessary, allowing eventual use of elements Wang Yan does not naturally possess 190.
  • Functional components act like additional dantians, increasing magical-power accumulation and cultivation speed rather than merely dividing his attention between methods 190.
  • Incomplete or severely damaged components do not automatically provide this benefit: the water-type component initially cannot serve as a second dantian, and the newly acquired earth-type component cannot open its dantian 212 305.
  • The artifact was originally intended to assist cultivation, not necessarily replace the natural dantian. Once the Medicine Sage repairs Wang Yan’s original dantian, he cultivates through three dantians 190 301.

Spell Storage and Rapid Casting

An Immortal Card preserves a spell or divine ability for use through the central artifact 13 14.

  • Users can cast a stored spell without learning it themselves; another cultivator can provide the spell during refinement 14.
  • Initial activation requires an incantation, hand seals, a little magical power, and attaching the card to the body. The Fireball Spell Card then dissolves into red motes that enter Wang Yan 12 13.
  • Once activated, the Fireball Spell Card releases attacks almost instantly, without repeated chanting or hand seals 18 49.
  • Card-generated fireballs are faster and more accurate than talisman attacks and consume little of Wang Yan’s own magical power 18 49.
  • Spell Collection Cards perform a distinct learning function: they collect another cultivator’s spell, which Wang Yan can refine into a mastered spell. Producing a reusable combat card for that spell requires a further crafting step 81.
  • Wang Yan uses this method to learn Earth Blast and Fire Fist, greatly reducing the time otherwise needed to comprehend and practice them 86.

Rechargeable Magical Power

Immortal Cards are reusable, but not inexhaustible. Their attacks draw on stored magical power that must be replenished 13.

  • Users recharge a card by channeling magical power into it 13.
  • Capacity depends on the refining materials, formations, and the stored spell’s rank and power 13 14.
  • At Wang Yan’s early cultivation level, fully recharging the Fireball Spell Card takes more than a day 18.
  • Stronger attacks expend more stored power, reducing the number of casts available from the same card 49.
  • A released spell can be withdrawn through the card system, recovering approximately 70–80 percent of its magical power 31.
  • After his magical power increases and the artifact is repaired with Fire Spirit Liquid, Wang Yan restores the power of his depleted cards in approximately half a day 110.
  • Internally refined cards gain greater capacity over time, allowing substantially more attacks than their original reserves would support. This helps Wang Yan sustain repeated Fire Fist attacks in sect competition 152.
  • Stored reserves do not eliminate resource management: prolonged bombardments still deplete cards, requiring replacement and exposing the unusual endurance the system provides 160.

Internal Refinement and Storage

Repair with Fire Spirit Liquid allows cards to be drawn into the artifact for continuous refinement with fire spirit qi and its special magical power 110.

  • Refinement gradually increases compatible cards’ magical-power capacity, slightly strengthens them, and restores their spiritual qi and magical power 110.
  • The fire-type artifact refines only fire-attributed cards. The Ironwood Shield Card and Poison Flying Knife Card cannot benefit from this process at that stage 110.
  • Internal storage does not mean every stored card can be used simultaneously, nor does this repair remove the incantations and hand seals required for normal activation 110.
  • Further restoration with the Flame Spirit Pearl accelerates card refinement 166.
  • Card Fairy also retrieves stored Storage Bags for Wang Yan, while he later asks her to place harvested spirit medicines inside the artifact 163 229.

Simultaneous Card Use

  • At minor attainment, Wang Yan can activate only one Immortal Card at a time. Using the Water-Fire Blast Card requires removing the active Fireball Spell Card first 21.
  • Switching cards during combat takes time and can leave him unable to use his preferred attack 21.
  • Card Fairy explains that greater cultivation will allow him to activate more cards simultaneously 21.
Documented stage Activation capacity Restrictions
Full completion of the Cultivation Realm The Ironwood Shield Card can be combined with certain other cards 69. Wang Yan can initially use only half of the shield’s power 69.
Peak of the Cultivation Realm after Fire Spirit Liquid repair Three cards 110. One Spirit Artifact-grade card paired with two low-grade spell or magic-artifact cards 110.
Core Condensation Realm after Flame Spirit Pearl repair Four active cards and two replacements 166. Replacement cards are prepared reserves, not additional simultaneous activations 166.
Battle with Lingyunzi Five fire-type artifact slots and three water-type artifact slots 249. Activated support cards occupy capacity that might otherwise be used for combat cards 249.
Major Nascent Soul Realm Seven fire-type artifact slots, six water-type artifact slots, and five reserve cards 305. The newly acquired earth-type artifact is too damaged to contribute 305.

Backup Immortal Card Replacement

Further repair unlocks an ability to replace depleted active cards without new incantations or hand seals 166.

  • Replacement cards must be added when preparing the active cards 166.
  • The initial arrangement supports four active cards and two replacements, giving Wang Yan access to six prepared cards across a battle rather than six simultaneous cards 166.
  • This reduces delays and the risk of exposing the artifact while changing cards 166.
  • By major mastery of the Nascent Soul Realm, Wang Yan can prepare five reserve cards 305.

Artifact Fusion and Puppet Control

Magic Artifact Fusion Cards absorb magic artifacts and allow Wang Yan to control them through the card system 59.

  • They remove the need for matching elemental magical power, reduce the power required for control, and extend the artifacts’ attack range 59.
  • Multiple artifacts can be combined in one card, but their number depends on Wang Yan’s cultivation and the card’s quality 59.
  • Spirit Artifacts require the more advanced Spirit Artifact Smelting Card; an ordinary Magic Artifact Fusion Card cannot absorb the Thousand Spirit Arrow 59.
  • Even with improved magical power, Wang Yan cannot fuse both sets of Mother-and-Son Flying Rings into a single Magic Artifact Fusion Card; only one set fits 110.
  • Puppet Immortal Cards provide additional combatants and can incorporate otherwise unsuitable spoils. Their construction and control require artifact-refining knowledge and sufficiently strong spiritual sense 181.
  • Wang Yan’s first defensive puppet incorporates more than a dozen Spirit Artifacts, black mother iron ore, and formation enhancements. Its exceptional weight makes it slow, but its durability is such that even a Golden Core cultivator might not destroy it instantly 212.

Aura Concealment

  • The artifact allows Wang Yan to suppress his magical presence unusually well 41.
  • At the earlier stage, this concealment cannot deceive a nearby Core Condensation Realm cultivator 41.
  • After two successive repairs, Wang Yan can store most of his magical power in the artifact and conceal it with divine sense. Cultivators below the Golden Core Stage cannot readily discern his cultivation by this method 169 170.
  • Card Fairy attributes the artifact’s likely concealment from a Nascent Soul cultivator partly to her own nearly imperceptible aura while dormant. She nevertheless warns Wang Yan against attracting powerful cultivators’ attention 163.
  • Dedicated cards later supplement concealment: the Invisibility Card hides his presence, while the Disguise Card is designed to conceal his cultivation 238 241.

Component Sensing

  • Card Fairy detects traces of the water-type artifact in Kui Water Spirit Milk and later senses another portion across a mountainous region 190 200.
  • A fragment’s host can obscure its aura, as occurs when the water-type piece merges with the Kui Water Lotus 193.
  • Sensing may be intermittent or fade when the target moves beyond range. Wang Yan himself feels a strong artifact reaction during the pursuit toward Azure Spirit Mountain 200.
  • By the Taiwu Mountains expedition, Wang Yan can sense the earth-type artifact inside a sealed chest. Card Fairy explains that the artifacts are becoming more attuned to him 304.

Emergency Healing and Empowerment

Card Fairy can expend her own power to activate the artifact in a life-threatening crisis. During Wang Yan’s demonic contamination, red runes spread over his body, expel the invading energy, heal his wounds, and greatly increase his physical and magical strength. The expenditure exhausts Card Fairy and leaves her dependent on further artifact repair to awaken 129.

Lottery Cube Storage

  • Card Fairy stores the Lottery Cube inside the artifact and brings it out to reward Wang Yan’s cultivation breakthroughs 15 49.
  • Rewards include previously refined Immortal Cards and other treasures: Wang Yan receives a Water-Fire Blast Card on his first draw and a Creation Pill on his next 16 49.
  • Later rewards include the Ironwood Shield Card, Cave Abode Secret Realm Card, Divine Artifact Embryo, and Fortune Card 69 166 282 305.
  • Wang Yan suspects Card Fairy can influence the rewards, particularly after she admits she had not yet decided what to give him before his peak Core Condensation draw 282.

Other Claimed Functions

Card Fairy says suitable Immortal Cards can lay formations, summon demonic or divine beasts, unleash magical treasures, and set traps. These possibilities depend on refining the appropriate cards; they are not all demonstrated by Wang Yan in his early cultivation 11 13.

By the finale, Wang Yan demonstrates the Heaven-Creating Immortal Card Formation, combining countless cards into a vast manifestation of beasts, landscapes, weapons, puppets, and flames. He also plans to send an Immortal Card Clone to another Immortal Domain 307.

Refinement

Requirement Details
Technical knowledge Even simple cards require formations, artifact refining, and talisman crafting 12.
Materials Demonic-beast hides are suitable basic media. Higher-grade cards may require rare natural treasures and demonic cores 14.
Formation runes Combinations of eighty-one basic formation characters produce formations that channel spiritual energy and preserve divine abilities within cards 48.
Control and concentration Insufficient magical power, imprecise control, and a restless mind can ruin materials during refinement 18.
Central artifact Possessing the Immortal Card Artifact is essential to unleash a finished card’s power 14.
Elemental restriction Initially, the incomplete artifact can refine only fire-type cards. Other components are needed to manufacture additional types; even after the fire component’s repair, its internal refinement remains fire-only 14 110.
Spiritual sense Puppet Immortal Cards require stronger spiritual sense for both construction and control, making advancement of the Heart-Control Art important 181.
Repeated formation reinforcement Puppet construction includes numerous formation-reinforcement stages. After completing its second stage, Wang Yan is told to reinforce the puppet nine more times; each round would ordinarily require more than half a year 192.
Elemental cooling techniques The water-type fragment permits ice spells that accelerate cooling and formation application, substantially reducing puppet-refining time 212.
High-level craftsmanship Cultivation and materials alone are insufficient for the Resurrection Card; Wang Yan must also develop the necessary card-refining skill 241.
  • First demonstration: Card Fairy controls Wang Yan’s body and transforms his beast-hide wristguards into a Fireball Spell Card. The process draws on his essence, spirit, and vital energy, leaving him exhausted 12.
  • Wang Yan’s training: He studies material refinement, formation characters, talisman drawing, and artifact refining. Drawing paired runes is a prerequisite for refining the Spell Collection Card 18 48.
  • Early unfinished project: After four further months of practice, his latest Spell Collection Card attempt still fails and exhausts his remaining fire-type Spirit Stones 50.
  • Template-based instruction: Wang Yan adopts copying existing designs as a practical alternative to first mastering every underlying Daoist art independently 51.
  • First personal success: He produces approximately a dozen half-finished cards, then completes a Spell Collection Card despite an interruption by Ye Shisan. The final process draws nearly all his magical power into the artifact and leaves him collapsed 59 60.
  • Reproducible success: Unable to recall exactly how his first card succeeded, Wang Yan initially fails to repeat it. Continued research eventually yields a second Spell Collection Card, consuming his remaining unfinished cards 81.
  • Expanded production: During more than four months at the Firecloud Sect, he produces additional spell cards and two artifact-fusion cards, exhausting his available crafting materials 86.
  • Refining manual: Wang Yan asks Card Fairy to organize key techniques and card formulas so that another period of unconsciousness will not leave him unable to research new cards 169.
  • Spirit Artifact breakthrough: With Card Fairy’s renewed guidance, he creates a Spirit Artifact Smelting Card and applies it to the Truefire Moon Wheel 167.
  • Puppet breakthrough: Water-type cooling techniques and Card Fairy’s expertise help him complete the Defense Puppet Immortal Card 212.
  • Support-card production: He successfully makes Invisibility, Acceleration, and Surveillance Cards after more than a year of cultivation and study 238.
  • Continuing repair obligations: Card Fairy later reminds him that two damaged Immortal Card Artifacts still require repair and instructs him to sort refining materials himself as part of his training 280.
  • Advanced study: Wang Yan studies the Magic Treasure Immortal Card and successfully crafts the Concealment Card after four or five months. Card Fairy considers the latter a diversion from studying the Ancient Treasure Refining Card 287 292.
  • Long-term expenditure: His research consumes enough materials that an ordinary cultivator might otherwise have supported cultivation to the Nascent Soul Realm, assuming no bottlenecks. His need for resources therefore continues growing with his expertise 301.
  • Treasure-refinement limit: By the earth-type artifact’s acquisition, Wang Yan can refine Spirit Treasure Refinement Cards but has not yet produced a True Immortal Spirit Treasure Refinement Card 305.
  • Ultimate success: As an Immortal Venerable, he has refined one Resurrection Card, but gathering materials for additional copies remains a major obstacle 307.

Known Card Types

Card Function Documented Limits / Status
Fireball Spell Card Stores rapidly repeatable Fireball Spells; used to kill demonic beasts and ambush cultivators 17 18 21 40. Made initially from low-grade beast hide. Its initial capacity is roughly a dozen casts; stronger fireballs at major completion reduce this to seven or eight. Wang Yan later crafts additional copies and gains internal refinement to improve compatible cards 14 49 86 110.
Water-Fire Blast Card Combines water and fire into an explosive attack. Its first test blasts a crater nearly ten feet across in a cliff 16. Obtained already refined from the Lottery Cube. At minor attainment, one use consumes about half Wang Yan’s reserves; defensive treasures may withstand it 16.
Spell Collection Card Collects another cultivator’s spell so Wang Yan can refine it into a mastered ability without conventional spell practice 50 81. Early attempts fail; his first success occurs in Chapter 60, and deliberate reproduction follows. It does not automatically become a reusable combat card for the collected spell 48 50 60 81.
Summoning Card Card Fairy describes cards capable of summoning even divine beasts 13. Requires superior materials. The finale’s Heaven-Creating Formation manifests divine and demonic beasts, though an individually identified Summoning Card is not shown in use 13 307.
Resurrection Card Intended to bring the dead back to life 13. Requires the complete artifact, True Immortal cultivation, exceptionally rare materials, and sufficient refining skill. Card Fairy herself previously failed to refine one. Wang Yan eventually produces one as an Immortal Venerable but has not chosen its recipient 13 14 241 307.
Magic Artifact Fusion Card Absorbs one or more magic artifacts for lower-cost, longer-range control without matching elemental magical power 59. Capacity depends on cultivation and card quality. It cannot absorb Spirit Artifacts 59.
Poison Flying Knife Card Controls poisoned flying knives through an artifact-fusion card 86. Most of its knives are later destroyed, leaving it unusable until repaired; the fire-type artifact cannot internally refine it 110.
Infinite Fire God Needle Card Artifact card produced from one of Wang Yan’s two successful Magic Artifact Fusion Cards 86. Successfully crafted during his Firecloud Sect preparations; detailed performance is not specified in that account 86.
Fire Fist Spell Card Releases repeated Fire Fist attacks while drawing principally on stored card power 86 152. Internal refinement increases its reserves beyond the original capacity, but prolonged use still depletes cards 152 160.
Fire Blast Technique Card / Fire Blast Card Plants an underground flame trap that explodes when a cultivator steps on it 86. Weaker than the Water-Fire Blast Card but more economical; used repeatedly in sect competition 86 160.
Ironwood Shield Card Deploys a responsive mid-grade Spirit Artifact shield 69. Wang Yan initially accesses only half its power. It is incompatible with fire-type internal refinement and is later destroyed at the outset of the fight with Lingyunzi 69 110 249.
Spirit Artifact Smelting Card Incorporates Spirit Artifacts into the card system 59 167. More advanced than magic-artifact fusion. Wang Yan eventually creates one and uses it on his supreme-grade Truefire Moon Wheel 59 167.
Cave Abode Secret Realm Card Provides a secret cultivation space and supports more than twice Wang Yan’s usual cultivation speed 166. Obtained from the Lottery Cube; very expensive to operate. Its defenses require continued Spirit Stone supply 166 190.
Puppet Immortal Card Provides a controllable puppet combatant and a use for otherwise unsuitable artifacts 181. Requires artifact-refining skill, extensive materials, repeated formation work, and strong spiritual sense 181 192.
Defense Puppet Immortal Card Deploys Wang Yan’s durable first puppet, capable of powerful attacks and serving as a defensive helper 212. Excess black mother iron ore makes it extremely slow. Incorporating more than a dozen Spirit Artifacts gives it exceptional durability 212.
Invisibility Card Provides powerful concealment using stored card power 238. Reusable; successfully crafted at substantial material and Spirit Stone cost 238.
Acceleration Card Provides reusable movement acceleration 238. Successfully crafted among Wang Yan’s support cards 238.
Surveillance Card Provides a surveillance-oriented support ability 238. Successfully crafted; detailed operating limits are not specified 238.
Disguise Card Conceals Wang Yan’s cultivation; later used to disguise him as a Ding Kingdom local 241 301. Occupies active card capacity while in use 249.
Divine Artifact Embryo card Contains an unshaped divine-artifact embryo whose materials have already been smelted 282. Requires runes and formations to become usable. Card Fairy says basic refinement could already provide defense surpassing a Spirit Artifact 282.
Magic Treasure Immortal Card A treasure-related card Wang Yan studies during his return journey to Firecloud Divine Mountain 287. Successful completion and detailed function are not established in that account 287.
Concealment Card A support card Wang Yan successfully refines and activates, producing gray light around him 292. Takes four or five months to complete; its precise concealment mechanism is not specified in the documented passage 292.
Ancient Treasure Refinement Card A treasure-refinement card included among Wang Yan’s successful Golden Core-stage designs 292 300. Initially remains a research project before his later success 292 300.
Advanced Spell Card An advanced spell-card variety Wang Yan learns to refine after reaching the Golden Core Stage 300. Detailed spells and limits are not specified 300.
Flight Acceleration Card Accelerates flight 300. Successfully refined during Wang Yan’s Golden Core-stage preparations 300.
Spirit Treasure Refinement Card A treasure-related card within Wang Yan’s refining capabilities by the Taiwu Mountains expedition 305. His skill has not yet extended to producing the corresponding True Immortal Spirit Treasure Refinement Card 305.
True Immortal Spirit Treasure Refinement Card A higher-level refinement card associated with True Immortal Spirit Treasures 305. Wang Yan has not successfully produced one by the earth-type artifact’s acquisition 305.
Fortune Card Supposedly improves fortune and can defy the heavens and rewrite fate 305. A highest-grade card made by Card Fairy from a small amount of Auspicious True Dragon hide. Wang Yan cannot refine it himself at that stage, and its causal role in his discoveries remains uncertain 305.
Immortal Card Clone Allows Wang Yan to send a clone to another Immortal Domain 307. Proposed for travel in the finale; detailed capabilities and deployment are not shown 307.

Relationships

  • Card Fairy — Inventor and refining instructor. She considers Wang Yan especially suited to her invention because he combines tactical planning with efficient use of each card’s advantages 9 18 48. Her recovery becomes linked to repairing the artifact after her emergency sacrifice, and she later compiles refining methods and formulas to preserve Wang Yan’s access to her knowledge 129 163 169.
  • Wang Yan — Bearer and developing card refiner. He uses traps and precise timing to compensate for weak cultivation, while seeking the complete artifact as a means to resurrect his loved ones 14 18. His research eventually spans support cards, puppets, treasure refinement, and the Heaven-Creating Formation, culminating in one successful Resurrection Card 238 300 305 307.
  • Ye Shisan — Wang Yan’s companion whose accidental interruption coincides with the completion of Wang Yan’s first Spell Collection Card. He also helps investigate the lake and caves associated with the water-type component 60 192.
  • Purple Mountain Medicine Sage — Restores Wang Yan’s original dantian, allowing it to function alongside the artifact-based cultivation vessels during their confinement in the Time-Control Formation 301.
  • Wang Ziling — His destruction of Wang Yan’s dantian leads to the artifact’s implantation. He later confronts Wang Yan’s artifact-assisted emergency empowerment and is ultimately destroyed by the Heaven-Creating Immortal Card Formation 8 9 129 307.

Notable Uses

  • Demonic-beast hunting: Rapid fireballs let Wang Yan exploit brief openings created by traps against the White-Headed Wolf and Black-Furred Ape 17 18.
  • Fang Bear Beast ambush: Wang Yan fires the Water-Fire Blast Technique into the open mouth of a newly advanced Core Condensation Realm beast. Card Fairy stresses that its existing injuries and depleted strength made the victory possible 22.
  • Withdrawal against layered defenses: Wang Yan retracts a Water-Fire Blast attack when an opponent’s Ice Armor and shield make a kill uncertain, conserving magical power before switching to close combat 31.
  • First personally crafted card: His first Spell Collection Card emerges after a disrupted final refinement draws almost all his magical power into the artifact 59 60.
