Background / History
Card Fairy invented and forged the Immortal Card Artifact. According to her account, it broke apart when she fled into Wang Yan’s world, leaving its components scattered somewhere within it. She refuses to explain her origins, insisting that such knowledge would be useless at his current cultivation level 9 14.
She saves Wang Yan after Wang Ziling destroys his dantian and leaves him fatally injured. A red triangular fragment of her artifact becomes embedded in his abdomen, allowing him to survive and offering a substitute means of cultivating. She first introduces herself as a voice in his mind, withholding her true title and asking him to call her “Card Fairy” 8 9.
Her attachment to Wang Yan is not entirely voluntary: she accidentally absorbs his blood essence and becomes unable to leave him. Although she initially complains about being bound to such a weak cultivator, she secretly assesses his comprehension and character and decides that he is worth teaching. Her own fate is tied to his cultivation and survival 10 12 17.
During the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land expedition, she identifies Fire Spirit Liquid within a Four-Armed Stonefire Spirit Beast as a resource capable of strengthening the artifact. After Wang Yan and his companions kill the beast, she undertakes the extraction. Absorbing the liquid repairs most of the fire artifact’s damage and gives Wang Yan improved power circulation and internal card-refinement capabilities 102 108 110.
When demonic energy contaminates Wang Yan’s wounds during his confrontation with Wang Ziling and the Devil Lord, Card Fairy transfers her remaining strength to him. The artifact expels the demonic energy, heals his wounds, and greatly strengthens him, but she falls unconscious. She instructs him to repair the artifact so she can recover 129. Wang Yan later sees her sleeping soul form through inner vision; the Flame Spirit Pearl eventually helps repair the artifact and awaken her 145 162 163.
After awakening, she confirms that she is only a soul body and was not originally in that condition. She explains that transferring her power and aura to Wang Yan left her dormant presence so faint that a Nascent Soul cultivator probably failed to detect her. At Wang Yan’s request, she begins organizing an Immortal Card refining manual and formulas so another period of unconsciousness will not leave him unable to develop new cards 163 169.
She subsequently helps recover a fragment of the Water-Type Immortal Card Artifact from a Golden Core Stage Snow Dragon Fish, taking control of Wang Yan’s body to retrieve it and contain the beast. She also assists in locating another water fragment and in developing the puppet-refinement techniques made possible by the recovered component 196 200 201 212.
In the Taiwu Mountains, Card Fairy and Wang Yan become trapped within a vast three-dimensional formation. After decades of study, she identifies it as a Time-Control Formation. Their confinement lasts more than a thousand years internally, while only a little over a hundred years pass outside. She continues teaching Wang Yan, helps him overcome mental bottlenecks with illusion formations, and eventually discovers an escape method. Together with Wang Yan and the Purple Mountain Medicine Sage, she breaks the formation using the Moon-Embracing Purple Mountain to drain its spiritual energy. During this period, her soul recovers enough for her to leave Wang Yan’s body 300 301 302.
Power Progression
| Stage / Development | Chapters | Condition, capability, or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Initial weakened state | 8 9 12 | Saves Wang Yan through the fire artifact fragment, but lacks the former power needed to restore his dantian. Her accidental absorption of his blood essence binds her to him. |
| First demonstrated body control | 12 | Controls Wang Yan’s body to create a Fireball Spell Card, drawing on his essence, spirit, and vital energy. |
| Treatment of cultivation deviation | 59 | Uses Wang Yan’s body to draw blood-red runes over Ye Shisan and expel traces associated with his inner demons. |
| Fire artifact restoration | 102 108 110 | Extracts Fire Spirit Liquid from the Four-Armed Stonefire Spirit Beast; its absorption repairs most of the fire artifact’s damage and enables internal storage and gradual refinement of fire-attribute cards. |
| Sacrificial power transfer | 129 | Gives Wang Yan her remaining strength, expelling demonic energy and healing him through the artifact, at the cost of prolonged unconsciousness. |
| Awakening through the Flame Spirit Pearl | 162 163 | Awakens after the pearl helps repair the artifact; resumes advising Wang Yan and identifies her present existence as a soul body. |
| Water fragment retrieval and containment | 196 | Possesses Wang Yan to retrieve a water artifact fragment, briefly freezes a Golden Core Stage Snow Dragon Fish, and restrains it with the secret realm’s formation. The expenditure leaves her exhausted. |
| Water-assisted puppet refinement | 212 | Teaches ice-based cooling techniques that accelerate artifact and formation refinement, helping Wang Yan complete his first Defense Puppet Immortal Card. |
| Soul preservation and transfer | 230 | Resists the Purple Mountain Medicine Sage’s possession attempt, then transfers his endangered soul into Wang Yan’s defensive puppet. |
| Possession of another host for formation breaking | 257 | Controls Lingyunzi to assist in breaking the Skull Heaven-and-Earth Formation; her formation mastery is described as renowned even among True Immortals. |
| Advanced restriction-breaking guidance | 264 | Supplies the complete knowledge Wang Yan needs to open a passage through a detection formation during a Nascent Soul rescue mission. |
| Recovered external manifestation | 300 301 | Her soul recovers sufficiently to emerge outside Wang Yan as a fist-sized, pink-clad little girl. No restoration of her original physical body is stated. |
| Time-Control Formation research | 301 302 | Identifies the time formation, ultimately devises an escape method, and helps Wang Yan reach Nascent Soul great perfection through sustained instruction and illusion formations. She believes she can eventually construct a similar time formation, given sufficient materials. |
| Further elemental artifact recovery | 305 | Wang Yan also possesses a severely damaged Earth-Type Immortal Card Artifact, but it cannot yet open an additional dantian or support earth-type cards. This is an artifact recovery, not a stated restoration of Card Fairy’s former cultivation. |
Appearance
- Voice: Cute and youthful-sounding, despite her insistence on being treated as an elder 8 10.
- Initially hidden form: At first, her form is not revealed to Wang Yan. She says he must develop spiritual sense strong enough for inner vision before he can see her inside his body 12.
- Sleeping soul form: After reaching Core Condensation, Wang Yan sees her curled up like a plump, fair-skinned little girl. A clearer view later reveals the appearance of a two- or three-year-old toddler, with long black hair, black gemstone-like eyes, a tiny red mole between her brows, and a bellyband covering her front 145 162.
- Concealing mist: Upon realizing Wang Yan can see her, she surrounds herself with pink mist that prevents his divine sense from detecting her form 163.
- Temporary appearance: She insists that her baby-like face is only temporary 208.
- External manifestation: After her soul recovers sufficiently, she appears outside Wang Yan as an adorable, fist-sized little girl dressed entirely in pink and emitting a faint pink glow 300 301.
Personality
Card Fairy is boastful, theatrical, and easily irritated. She lavishes praise on her own invention, reacts sharply when Wang Yan compares it to ordinary talismans or magic artifacts, and frequently calls him a brat. Her childish behavior repeatedly makes him question whether she really is the ancient True Immortal she claims to be 10 11 28.
Beneath the teasing, she is a demanding teacher who values perseverance and self-reliance. She discourages despair, refuses to supply equipment whenever Wang Yan asks, and makes advancement the condition for receiving rewards. She treats cultivation and mental stability as more important than collecting spells for immediate use 8 17 29 50.
Her view of the cultivation world is pragmatic rather than idealistic. She initially praises Wang Ziling’s cunning as a useful survival trait, but recognizes that his viciousness would make him a dangerous partner. Wang Yan’s careful use of limited resources eventually impresses her more: she comes to regard him as better suited to her artifact than its creator herself 15 18.
She can hold a grudge without abandoning her responsibilities. After Wang Yan complains about her constant commentary, she stops answering him until he promises not to quarrel again, yet continues supervising his cultivation throughout the dispute 22 23.
Her concern for Wang Yan is demonstrated most clearly in emergencies. She sacrifices her remaining power to save him from demonic contamination and later volunteers to possess him against the Third Young Master despite the risk of renewed dormancy or even the dispersal of her soul. Wang Yan refuses the latter offer because he believes he can win without endangering her 129 178.
She continues emphasizing patience as Wang Yan grows stronger, approving a solid Core Condensation foundation and warning that pills, treasures, and hurried breakthroughs are no substitute for sustained cultivation. Her surprise at his rapid Heart-Control Art advancements also leads her to reassess his aptitude more favorably 163 181 182.
Her rewards have an instructional purpose beyond encouragement. Although she denies manipulating the Lottery Cube, she inadvertently admits that she has not decided what to give Wang Yan, and the Divine Artifact Embryo prize pushes him to study formations and runes 282.
She is curious and intrusive about Wang Yan’s romantic life, teasing him about women and expressing interest in witnessing dual cultivation. He consequently seeks a way to block her observation and voice transmissions. She agrees to consider a solution after he presents privacy as protection from cultivation distractions, but becomes suspicious when he tests the resulting Concealment Card 240 286 287 291 292.
Her pragmatic advice can also be ruthless or provocative: she casually proposes killing obstructive Ma Family disciples and later urges Wang Yan to punish challengers on the dueling platform. Nevertheless, she praises his restraint when he explains the political dangers of provoking their powerful backers 228 293.
Abilities & Skills
Immortal Card Creation
Card Fairy created the Immortal Card system to reduce the time cultivators spend practicing individual spells. Its craft combines formations, artifact refining, and talisman-making; she describes the complete artifact as incorporating pill refining, incantations, and other disciplines as well 11 12 50.
- Demonstrated creation: Takes control of Wang Yan’s body and converts his beast-hide wristguards into a Fireball Spell Card, using seals, runes, and the artifact to preserve the spell 12.
- Spell access: Cards allow users to cast stored spells without first learning them, with rapid and repeatable activation 13 18.
- Energy limits: Repeated casting consumes a card’s stored magical power; depleted cards must be recharged 13.
- Material requirements: Basic cards need suitable demonic-beast materials or special media. Higher-grade cards can require rare treasures and demonic cores 11 14.
- Initial artifact limitation: The surviving fire fragment initially permits only fire-type card refinement. Other elemental capabilities depend on recovering additional components 14 190 196.
- Advanced possibilities: She describes Summoning Cards capable of calling divine beasts and Resurrection Cards capable of restoring the dead. These are not demonstrated; she herself failed to create a Resurrection Card, and one requires the complete artifact 13 14.
- Refining manual: Organizes key techniques and card formulas at Wang Yan’s request, preparing him to continue learning if she becomes unconscious again 169.
- Long-term results of instruction: During their prolonged confinement, Wang Yan develops five or six hundred card varieties, including the Mountain-Moving, Sea-Overturning Card. Card Fairy still describes his accomplishments as merely crossing the threshold compared with her expertise 302.
Advanced Card Instruction
| Card / Technique | Card Fairy’s explanation or contribution |
|---|---|
| Spell Collection Card | Requires sufficient refining skill and paired formation runes. Wang Yan later uses such cards to learn Earth Blast and Fire Fist during his Firecloud Sect preparations 48 86. |
| Magic Artifact Fusion Card | Absorbs magic artifacts and allows their control without matching elemental magical power, while reducing power consumption and extending effective range. The number of artifacts fused depends on cultivation and card quality 58 59. |
| Spirit Artifact Smelting / Collection Cards | Provides the more advanced route needed for Spirit Artifacts such as the Thousand Spirit Arrow. After awakening, she recommends these as a more practical training step than costly Intermediate Spell Collection Cards 59 166. |
| Puppet Immortal Cards | Proposes converting dangerous, identifiable spoils into puppets. Their creation and control require stronger spiritual sense, Heart-Control Art advancement, artifact refinement, and repeated formation reinforcement 181 182 192. |
| Defense Puppet Immortal Card | Accelerates its creation through water-fragment cooling techniques. Criticizes Wang Yan’s excessive use of heavy black mother iron, which makes the puppet slow, while acknowledging its strength 212. |
| Support Immortal Cards | Recommends support cards after the first puppet is completed. Wang Yan later produces Invisibility, Acceleration, and Surveillance Cards 212 238. |
| Ancient Treasure Refining Card | Explains that Wang Yan’s water-fire artifact dantians give him enough magical power to barely activate an ancient treasure before reaching Golden Core. Later lists the rare materials needed for the card 241 292. |
| Blood Ghost Demon Card | Recognizes the Black Evil King as a Blood Ghost Demon and identifies its blood as material for a powerful card 257. |
| Concealment Card | Helps develop an inward-concealment card associated with drawing in the mind and isolating inner demons. Wang Yan also uses it to interrupt her voice and prevent her from hearing him 287 289 291 292. |
Cultivation Analysis and Tailored Arts
Card Fairy can assess cultivation aptitude and devise methods suited to individual practitioners 9 10 49.
- Immortal-root assessment: Identifies Wang Yan’s fire root as purer than his water root, explaining why his previous cultivation method wasted his potential 9.
- Customized fire art: Quickly creates a method circulating through twelve meridians. Wang Yan finds it several times faster and less uncomfortable than his former Water Spirit Art 10 11.
- Breakthrough guidance: Teaches Wang Yan to use Spiritual Energy Pills and fire-type Spirit Stones to force through his bottleneck 48.
- Earthforce Art: Prepares a cultivation art for Ye Shisan after investigating his unusual constitution and the effects of his existing training 48 49.
- Dantian repair limitation: Says restoring Wang Yan’s dantian would have been possible with her former powers, but is beyond her present condition 9.
- Heavenburning Art appraisal: Approves its cultivation of 108 meridians as suitable for building a Core Condensation foundation. Explains that a more elaborate tailored art would take months to create and that excessive meridian complexity can impede progress 163.
- Earthforce Art assessment: Identifies Ye Shisan’s dramatic growth and advancement as mastery of the art’s first level, and rates his expedition fighting strength among the strongest participating cultivators 86 88.
- Elemental cultivation guidance: Explains that using additional elemental artifacts requires suitable elemental cultivation methods, but additional immortal roots can be acquired. The artifacts can function as extra dantians and increase cultivation speed rather than merely divide effort 190.
- Five-element advancement requirement: States that cultivators must complete their five-element immortal roots at the peak of Divine Communion to advance into the Grand Void Realm 190.
- Later dantian repair assessment: Describes restoring Wang Yan’s original dantian as a distant undertaking requiring at least Nascent Soul Realm strength and resources. During the time-formation confinement, the Purple Mountain Medicine Sage eventually restores it, enabling cultivation through three dantians 190 301 302.
- Bottleneck assistance: Uses illusion formations during the prolonged confinement to help Wang Yan gain insights into heaven and earth whenever his state of mind obstructs advancement 302.
Spiritual Sense and Body Control
Her spiritual sense allows her to observe the outside world while residing within Wang Yan 12.
- Mental communication: Speaks directly into his mind. His early cultivation is insufficient to answer silently through divine sense, so he must speak aloud 16 32.
- Later two-way communication: Wang Yan’s second-layer Heart-Control Art breakthrough strengthens his spiritual sense enough to communicate mentally with her and faintly perceive her presence 86.
- Threat detection: Notices the approaching Ma Family party, tracks changes in a pursuer’s presence, and interrupts instruction when someone approaches 25 38 40.
- Detection limitations: Warns Wang Yan about strange visitors in the inheritance passages, including one whose aura she cannot sense 121.
- Body control: With Wang Yan’s cooperation, controls his movements to carry out card refinement beyond his own skill 12.
- Cost to the host: Her first refinement demonstration draws on his essence, spirit, and vital energy, leaving him exhausted. She prescribes four hours of meditation to recover 12.
- Cultivation-deviation treatment: Controls Wang Yan to inscribe blood-red runes over Ye Shisan, drawing black, foul-smelling traces from his body as part of expelling his inner demons 59.
- Emergency power transfer: Gives Wang Yan her remaining soul power through the artifact, healing demonic contamination and enabling him to confront Wang Ziling and the Devil Lord 129.
- Possession risks: Large expenditures can leave her unconscious, and another desperate battle could potentially scatter her soul. Wang Yan declines her offer to possess him against the Third Young Master for that reason 178.
- Soul concealment: Hides her visible form from Wang Yan’s divine sense with pink mist. Explains that her nearly exhausted dormant aura helped avoid detection by a Nascent Soul cultivator 163.
- Control beyond Wang Yan: Possesses Lingyunzi while assisting with formation breaking 257.
- Recovered mobility: Can emerge outside Wang Yan after her soul recovers during the Time-Control Formation confinement 300 301.
- Present-state limitation: Cannot eat physical food in her early weakened state, though the smell and memory of roast fish tempt her 11.
Formations, Refining, and Mental Cultivation
Card Fairy teaches the technical foundations needed for Wang Yan to make his own Immortal Cards 12 48.
- Formation instruction: Teaches eighty-one basic formation characters, whose combinations produce runes and formations that channel spiritual energy 48.
- Spell Collection Card prerequisites: Requires adequate artifact-refining skill and the ability to combine two formation characters into paired runes 48.
- Refining diagnosis: Identifies insufficient magical power, poor control, and restlessness as the causes of Wang Yan’s failed attempts to process beast hide 18.
- Ancient-script knowledge: Deciphers the Ancient Clerical Script in a jade slip containing roughly one-third of the Heart-Control Art, then adapts the technique for Wang Yan 24.
- Mental discipline: Explains that a steadier mind aids resistance to inner demons and develops intelligence and spiritual sense 24.
- Water-based cooling: Devises ice-spell cooling techniques that speed formation application and artifact refinement after the recovery of a water fragment 212.
- Restriction appraisal: Identifies the star-moon purple light formation surrounding the Purple Mountain site and recognizes the original owner’s exceptional formation skill 228.
- Safe navigation: Guides Wang Yan through the site’s formations to reach the herb garden in only a dozen or so breaths 229.
- True Immortal-level reputation: Her mastery of formations is described as renowned even among True Immortals. She readily identifies a way to break the Skull Heaven-and-Earth Formation 257.
- Rescue-mission guidance: Provides Wang Yan with the knowledge to open a gap in a detection formation for a party of Nascent Soul cultivators. He deliberately understates his confidence and delays the operation to conceal the extent of her assistance 264.
- Silver Tadpole Script: Recognizes the script and high-level restrictions on an ancient treasure chest, studies them, and offers to teach Wang Yan the script later 285.
- Time-Control Formation research: Requires decades to identify the enormous formation trapping them and much longer to discover an escape method. Its complexity exceeds what she can solve immediately 301.
- Potential time-formation construction: After their escape, believes she can eventually build a similar formation, although it would require many materials 302.
Artifact and Material Appraisal
Her expertise helps Wang Yan recognize valuable finds and avoid misleading purchases 23 36 37 38 43.
- Thousand Spirit Arrow: Identifies it as a Spirit Artifact and explains how the user’s cultivation determines its available power 23.
- Purple-Spotted Bamboo Brush: Recognizes valuable bamboo in a shabby secondhand brush, then gives instructions for restoring its tip with Spiritual Energy Pills and Fang Bear Beast blood 37 38.
- Counterfeit detection: Exposes worthless artifacts and dismisses the heavily promoted Blue Jadeite Purple Tiger Brush as ordinary rather than exceptional 36 37 38.
- Black mother iron: Identifies the rare material in Ye Shisan’s rod and explains its value for strengthening weapons and artifacts 43.
- Talisman appraisal: Recognizes the unusual production method of a young vendor’s blank talismans and praises her skill 35 36.
- Black mother iron ore valuation: Explains that the ore is an extremely valuable material used in forging Magic Treasures, prompting Wang Yan to consider carefully how to sell it without exposing his wealth 77.
- Fire Spirit Liquid: Detects the valuable substance within the Four-Armed Stonefire Spirit Beast and undertakes a seven- or eight-day extraction to repair the fire artifact 102 108 110.
- Flame Spirit Pearl: Recognizes it as a naturally formed treasure condensed from fire spirit qi and credits it with helping restore the artifact and awaken her 163.
- Kui Water Spirit Milk: Identifies a trace of the missing water artifact component within it. Explains its usefulness for water cultivation and suggests bringing it into the secret realm to raise Snow Dragon Fish and support artifact repair 190.
- Fragment sensing: Uses the recovered water artifact to sense another portion near Azure Spirit Mountain. States that only those she has blessed can sense it in this way 200 201.
- Ancient treasure chests: Identifies Wang Yan’s chest as one of an estimated seven or eight components of an ancient treasure capable of opening a secret star realm; the complete set is needed 285 287.
Concealment, Defensive Formations, and Soul Preservation
- Hidden storage: Can place valuable items and Storage Bags within the Immortal Card Artifact, concealing Wang Yan’s artifact, black mother iron ore, and his companions’ expedition treasures. At that stage, only she can perform the storage operation; after awakening, she retrieves the bags for their owners 110 119 163.
- Aura suppression: Teaches Wang Yan to draw most of his magical power into the artifact, lowering his apparent cultivation to support his Phantom Face disguise during the Red Market infiltration 169.
- Secret-realm operation: Explains the Cave Abode Secret Realm’s Spirit Stone Furnace, selective floor operation, and enemy-trapping restrictions 165 189 190.
- Golden Core beast containment: Retrieves the water fragment from the Snow Dragon Fish’s mouth, briefly freezes the beast, and binds it with a net of Five-Colored Spiritual Light runes. Maintaining the reinforced formation requires Wang Yan to add 500,000 Spirit Stones to the furnace 196.
- Resistance to possession: Strikes the invading Purple Mountain Medicine Sage with spiritual power while Wang Yan resists through the Heart-Control Art 230.
- Soul transfer: Saves the Sage from dispersal by transferring him into the defensive puppet through a complex spell performed with Wang Yan’s body. The puppet’s servitude restriction array remains in force, limiting the Sage’s freedom 230.
Equipment / Items
- Immortal Card Artifact — Her original invention. Its red fire fragment is embedded in Wang Yan’s abdomen and replaces his destroyed dantian. At his low cultivation, he needs her assistance to activate it, and drawing power from it is slower than using an intact dantian 9 15.
- Fire Spirit Liquid repairs most of the fire artifact’s damage, improving power circulation and enabling internal card storage. Its fire spirit qi and special magical power gradually replenish compatible cards and increase their capacity and strength, but activation still requires incantations and hand seals at that stage 110.
- The Flame Spirit Pearl contributes to further repair and Card Fairy’s awakening 163.
- A Water-Type fragment is recovered from the Snow Dragon Fish. While incomplete, it assists ice spells and puppet refinement but cannot yet serve as Wang Yan’s second dantian 196 212.
- By Wang Yan’s great completion of Core Condensation, the water-fire artifacts provide the magical power of two dantians. During the time-formation confinement, restoration of his original dantian gives him three 241 301 302.
- Wang Yan later also obtains a severely damaged Earth-Type Immortal Card Artifact. It cannot yet open its dantian or support earth-type cards 305.
- Cube Lottery Wheel / Lottery Cube — A reward device she summons from the artifact. She initially describes it as holding cards she refined in the past; its documented prizes also include a Creation Pill 15 49.
- Each minor-realm breakthrough earns one draw; a major-realm breakthrough offers a grand-prize opportunity 49.
- She refuses redraws and warns that selling a prize will forfeit future draws 49.
- Wang Yan’s first two rewards are the Water-Fire Blast Card and the Creation Pill 16 49.
- His third reward is the Ironwood Shield Card, containing a mid-grade wood-type Spirit Artifact. At full completion of the Cultivation Realm, he can use only half its power 69.
- His Core Condensation major-realm reward is the Cave Abode Secret Realm Card 165.
- At Core Condensation perfection, he draws a Divine Artifact Embryo, whose unfinished runes and formations make it an incentive for further technical study 282.
- Her denial that she arranges prizes is undermined when she says she has not yet decided what to give him 282.
- Cave Abode Secret Realm Card — A lottery prize she explains and helps Wang Yan operate. It manifests externally as a tiny silver pagoda, while its expanded interior contains eight floors for cultivation, medicinal plants, dueling, refining, storage, beasts, discarded items, and the Spirit Stone Furnace 165.
- Its surrounding landscape is illusory, but the pagoda itself is real 165.
- The furnace absorbs surrounding spiritual energy and converts Spirit Stones. Running the entire realm at ordinary levels costs over ten thousand Spirit Stones daily; operating a needed floor alone reduces the cost to roughly one or two thousand 165.
- Its defensive and enemy-trapping formations become essential to containing Snow Dragon Fish 189 190 196.
- Immortal Card Refining Manual — A compilation of key refining principles and card formulas she prepares at Wang Yan’s request to reduce his dependence on her uninterrupted availability 169.
- Divine Artifact Embryo — Rare materials already smelted but not yet shaped or inscribed with runes and formations. She explains that basic inscriptions can make it usable and potentially provide defense exceeding a Spirit Artifact, despite Wang Yan lacking the ability to complete a true divine artifact 282.
Relationships
- Wang Yan — Rescued host, pupil, and inseparable companion. Their partnership begins with suspicion and necessity, then develops into familiar banter and genuine admiration. She particularly values his ability to exploit his strengths while conserving power 8 12 18.
- Sacrifices her remaining strength to save him in the Cloud Mountain Treasure Land. He later refuses another possession-based power boost because he does not want her to risk dormancy or soul dispersal 129 178.
- Her body-control ability occasionally unsettles him, including during the Snow Dragon Fish battle, although he recognizes that she treats him well 196.
- Wang Yan’s interest in restoring her becomes an additional reason to study formations and runes when she gives him the Divine Artifact Embryo 282.
- Their constant proximity complicates his privacy and romantic plans, leading him to develop and test the Concealment Card 286 287 289 291 292.
- More than a thousand years of shared confinement strengthens their long-term technical partnership; she remains his mentor after recovering enough to emerge from his body 300 301 302.
- Wang Ziling — Wang Yan’s enemy. She initially acknowledges his cunning, but later warns that his treachery threatens Wang Yan and concludes that Wang Yan is the better user of her artifact 15 18 28.
- Ye Shisan — Indirect beneficiary of her instruction. She investigates his unusual cultivation difficulties, asks Wang Yan to be patient with him, and prepares the Earthforce Art for him 48 49.
- Treats his cultivation deviation through Wang Yan’s body and later urges Wang Yan to recognize his aptitude, defense, and loyalty rather than dismiss him for his recklessness 59 77.
- Praises the combat potential of his Earthforce Art, while continuing to call him a silly boy and tease Wang Yan about his concern for him 88 182 190.
- Zhang Qiulin and Zhang Qiulang — Wang Yan’s allies and later romantic interests. Card Fairy senses a mysterious special ability in them and recommends considering them as expedition companions. She conceals their valuable spoils and later retrieves their Storage Bags 88 119 163.
- Venerable Gray Three — Wang Yan’s sect master. Card Fairy approves of his decision to gain a Golden Core mentor and endorses Wang Yan’s Heavenburning Art, while remaining his more continuously available guide in Immortal Card crafting 163 166.
- Purple Mountain Medicine Sage — Initially a hostile soul attempting to possess Wang Yan. Card Fairy helps repel him, then preserves him in the defensive puppet in exchange for pill-refinement assistance and promised help returning to life 230.
- Ma Ang — Holder of another portion of the Water-Type Immortal Card Artifact. Card Fairy warns that taking it from a Golden Core cultivator is dangerous, but supports Wang Yan’s infiltration plan once he explains how the Moon-Embracing Purple Mountain Map can draw Ma Ang’s interest 208.
