Uchiha Gua used his idle-training system to grow stronger while trying to prevent Itachi from becoming a threat. After a mountain conversation changed his mind about killing Itachi, Gua was abducted by Orochimaru for an experiment.

• Uchiha Gua began training with his idle system at the Academy, quickly improving his chakra, taijutsu, eyesight, and shuriken skills.
• Gua befriended Itachi and repeatedly impressed classmates and teachers with feats he attributed to cheats, while Izumi sought his attention.
• Gua learned the Great Fireball Technique from Itachi and reconciled with Izumi by leaving her a lunchbox.
• Gua planned to kill Itachi during a mountain climb, but Itachi shared his thoughts about life and Gua let the wind decide whether he would act.
• After the wind turned north, Gua spared Itachi and headed home alone.
• Orochimaru stopped Gua and took him to a hidden woodland laboratory, where Gua distracted him by warning that an uncovered petri dish could be contaminated.

Gua’s growing ties with Itachi and Izumi unfolded alongside the public trial of Orochimaru and rising tensions between the Uchiha and Konoha. After awakening his Sharingan and killing a Root operative, Gua caught Orochimaru’s interest in science, while Orochimaru chose to trust him to change Konoha’s future.

• Fugaku rescued Gua from Orochimaru’s laboratory, then brought the Uchiha’s accusations to Hiruzen, who ordered an investigation and held Orochimaru’s public trial.
• At the trial, Orochimaru admitted to his crimes, but rescued shinobi praised his work and the crowd turned in his favor, leading the Third Hokage to expel him from the High Command and place him under house arrest.
• Gua grew closer to Itachi and Izumi, encouraged Itachi to believe the Uchiha and Konoha could coexist peacefully, and impressed his class by mastering the Transformation Technique.
• During a training outing with Shisui and Itachi, Gua encountered Root operatives and awakened his one-tomoe Sharingan before killing one attacker and helping subdue the other.
• Fugaku told Itachi that the Third Hokage had accused the Uchiha of hiding Gua’s power and preparing to rebel, while Gua concluded that Orochimaru’s research pursued bodily evolution.
• Orochimaru took Gua to his research base, where Gua identified heat as the cause of failed plant-tissue experiments and suggested building a refrigeration unit.
• Hiruzen questioned Orochimaru about meeting Gua, while Danzo demanded the bodies of two missing Root members and Orochimaru denied having them, saying afterward that he trusted Gua to change Konoha’s future.

Gua rescued Hinata from Kumogakure kidnappers, then feared Danzo’s rise would bring destruction to the Uchiha and urged his family to flee. As Gua and his parents escaped Konoha, Danzo moved against the Uchiha and Hyuga, and Root operatives attacked the family near the Land of Earth border.

• Gua unlocked Impure World Reincarnation through idle training while Orochimaru developed an electromagnetic motor, and Kakashi continued pursuing a friendship with him.
• Gua fought off Karui and then confronted Kumogakure men who attacked him, with Orochimaru shielding Gua and pressing the delegation to back down.
• Gua rescued Hinata from two Kumogakure agents and helped Hizashi capture them, but the envoys later died from poison concealed in their teeth.
• After Gua withdrew from his friends, Orochimaru advised him not to carry everyone’s loneliness, while Hiashi and Fugaku formed an alliance against Kumogakure’s demand for Hizashi.
• When the Third Hokage fell ill and Danzo became Acting Hokage, Gua warned his parents and Itachi that Danzo might destroy the Uchiha, but Itachi chose to stay with his clan.
• Danzo excluded the Uchiha and Hyuga from a troop muster, so Gua fled Konoha with Uchiha Nai and Uchiha Oyama as the two clans prepared to resist him.
• Fugaku offered his life to spare the Uchiha, but the clan chose to fight, and Itachi refused Fugaku’s plea to escape with Gua.
• Near the Land of Earth border, two Root operatives attacked Gua’s family, and Uchiha Nai stood beside Uchiha Oyama with her kunai as they charged.

After fleeing Konoha with his family, Gua befriended Kabuto and brought him back under a new identity. Once home, Gua reunited with his friends and drew Root’s attention, leaving Kabuto facing a Root ambush as Kakashi prepared to intervene.

• Hiruzen ended Danzo’s attempt to seize the Uchiha, but Gua and his family left Konoha and traveled to the Land of Grass.
• Gua saved the starving Kabuto, who revealed he had stolen a map of the Land of Earth and a Particle Style scroll.
• Gua’s family decided to return to Konoha with Kabuto, and Nai registered him as Uchiha Kabuto with a fabricated family history.
• Gua’s family returned to Konoha, where Gua saw Itachi again, reunited with Izumi, and befriended Naruto.
• Orochimaru joined Akatsuki for research funding while searching for Gua, and Jiraiya and Tsunade fought him in the Land of Rain before retreating.
• Hiruzen welcomed Gua’s family back and awarded them the title of Glorious Family, while Danzo learned Kabuto’s identity and restarted Root surveillance.
• Gua visited Orochimaru’s laboratory with Kabuto, then went to Naruto’s apartment and cleaned it before Naruto arrived.
• Four Root operatives ambushed Gua and Kabuto by the riverside, and Kakashi prepared to intervene as their leader charged Kabuto.
