After introducing himself, Brother Hui pointed at Old Man Li and said, "This is Old Man Li. His Sequence is Botanist. He can cultivate all kinds of plants, including supernatural ones. You'll learn the details later."

"This is Zhu Qing. His Sequence is Giant, a combat Sequence. He has powerful regeneration, stamina, and physical strength, and he turns into a giant when he fights."

Finally, Brother Hui pointed at An Xi and introduced her. "She's An Xi. Her Sequence is White Tiger-the White Tiger of the Four Symbols in mythology, the one that controls Geng Metal Power. She has the greatest offensive power in our convoy."

Brother Hui introduced everyone, and Chu Sheng quietly committed it all to memory.

"Now let's divide up the supplies from this trip."

Brother Hui looked at the backpacks beside them, which held the supplies Zhu Qing and An Xi had brought back.

"We pool our supplies and distribute them together." He glanced at Chu Sheng.

"You didn't know that before, so you won't get a share this time. In return, you don't have to hand over the supplies you found yourself."

Chu Sheng nodded, unsurprised.

He had watched Sequence users divide their supplies from a distance a few times before. He simply hadn't known the rules they followed.

Brother Hui continued, "By our rules, I get three shares as the convoy's guide."

"Old Man Li gets only one share for handling support."

"Zhu Qing and An Xi have combat Sequences and risk their lives, so they each get thirty percent."

No one objected to his allocation.

As both leader and guide, Brother Hui had contributed enough to deserve thirty percent, even though he hadn't gone out to search for supplies.

He had found the town, and he had led the convoy in avoiding supernatural horrors.

Without him, the convoy would serve no purpose. This was what its guide deserved.

As for Old Man Li, ten percent was enough for someone with a support Sequence. He was the one who really got supplies for free.

Still, it wasn't exactly freeloading. He had to share the fruits of his work with the convoy, too, like the little tomato he had handed them when they went out to search for supplies.

That was a supernatural plant Old Man Li had cultivated with his Sequence ability, and it had a special effect.

They had always divided things this way. They were only explaining it because Chu Sheng had joined them; otherwise, they would have simply handed out the shares.

While they divided the supplies, the other survivors watched from a distance, their eyes filled with undisguised envy and longing.

That huge pile of supplies was enough to sustain them for a long time.

Chu Sheng watched in silence. He knew perfectly well that Zhu Qing and An Xi had brought back less this time than before.

They had only searched for a little while before the zombies appeared, and then they had spent the rest of the time fighting them.

Still, as he watched the supplies and food being pulled from the enormous backpacks, Chu Sheng's eyes shifted thoughtfully.

He was wondering how to talk them out of some supplies.

When he upgraded his bicycle, he had discovered something.

If he already had some of the parts when making an upgrade, it would cost far fewer Survival Points.

For example, if he wanted to add a fuel tank during an upgrade and had one ready to use, it might only cost a hundred Survival Points.

On the other hand, without a fuel tank, it might cost five or six hundred points, or even over a thousand.

In Chu Sheng's eyes, supplies had already become strategic resources.

After upgrading his bicycle into a motorcycle with a sidecar, he only had three hundred Survival Points left.

But even three hundred could be put to use.

If he spent them carefully, they could still accomplish a great deal.

Chu Sheng turned his gaze toward An Xi's spear.

An Xi, who was dividing the supplies, noticed his gaze and warily hugged her spear to her chest, looking at him as though he were some creepy older guy.

Chu Sheng gave her a speechless look.

Still, he said nothing. He wanted to see what supplies this girl received before naming his price.

At that thought, his gaze grew eager as he looked at An Xi.

An Xi felt uncomfortable under his stare and shrank back a little.

But she quickly felt that didn't suit her image, so she straightened her neck and glared fiercely at Chu Sheng. She also drew herself upright and pulled the spear away from her chest, its tip more or less pointed at him.

It was as if she were saying, Keep staring and I'll hit you.

Chu Sheng didn't care in the slightest. He simply flashed her a broad, toothy grin.

Brother Hui and the other two saw their little exchange and gave the pair strange looks.

But none of them said anything.

The supplies were soon sorted.

Brother Hui separated out every type of supply.

When the shares were handed out, everyone would receive some of everything. Only the quantities differed.

That was another principle of their distribution system.

Whether you wanted something or not, you received your share. If you needed something else afterward, you could trade among yourselves.

This was also a way to keep trouble from breaking out in the convoy.

Chu Sheng glanced over the sorted supplies. Most were food, with a smaller portion consisting of everyday necessities.

It was as though Zhu Qing and An Xi had agreed on this beforehand.

Everything pulled from Zhu Qing's large backpack was food from the shelves. He hadn't cared whether it was expired; if he saw it, he stuffed it into his backpack.

Of course, Zhu Qing wasn't stupid. Most of the food he took was the filling kind.

Dried noodles, instant noodles, rice, and the like.

The rest consisted of snacks, spicy gluten strips, and bottles and jars of seasonings.

Chu Sheng could even spot some expired little bread rolls among them.

There was a bit of everything.

An Xi's backpack, on the other hand, was completely different.

It wasn't entirely devoid of food, but there was very little-only four or five bundles of packaged noodles. Everything else was supplies of various kinds.

There were ropes, wrenches, and other hardware tools. Chu Sheng could even see a car oil filter among them.

It looked like she was stockpiling them to repair vehicles.

He had no idea how she had found these things in a supermarket. It was downright absurd.

On second thought, though, it wasn't strange for a small-town supermarket to sell just about anything.

The supplies were soon divided. Chu Sheng watched the entire process and did some silent calculations. Even a thirty-percent share far exceeded what he had obtained on his own.

Zhu Qing had contributed the most. Once he turned into a giant, he really tore through the place.

"Tsk, Qing, bring me some liquor next time. It's been several trips now, and you haven't brought back any. I don't even dare drink the little bit of Jingjiu I have left."

Zhu Qing scratched his head. "Old Li, it's not that I don't want to help. We ran into zombies this time, and there was even an Armored Zombie. They wouldn't leave us alone. I really couldn't look for any."

"Otherwise, we wouldn't have brought back so few supplies."

As he spoke, he pointed at his share of the supplies on the ground.

"I'll find you some next time."

"All right, all right."

Old Man Li sighed, but his eyes stayed on Chu Sheng.

He had seen the kid carrying several bottles of baijiu when he returned earlier.

At the moment, however, Chu Sheng wasn't looking at him. Instead, his eyes gleamed as he stared at the supplies in front of An Xi.

"Young lady of unparalleled beauty, would you like to become stronger?"

An Xi: "..."
