Chu Sheng fell asleep, while An Xi and the others headed outside.
Everyone gathered at the front of the Netherworld Light, raising their heads to meet the Butcher's gaze as it sat in the driver's seat.
"Wah-gaga?!"
The Butcher tilted its head, lowered the window, and tossed a snarling, hissing cat head from its left hand toward Captain Hui.
Captain Hui and the others had already figured out everything about the cat head in its hand. Knowing it was only meant to frighten people, Captain Hui merely stepped back to keep it from hitting him.
But the next moment, the cat head the Butcher had thrown bared its teeth and lunged at Captain Hui, as though it wanted to bite him to death.
Seeing this, Zhu Qing instinctively tried to step forward to block the cat head, but he was too late. The head stopped right in front of Captain Hui, as though something held it back, unable to advance another inch.
Even so, Captain Hui got quite a fright. His eyes widened, and his body involuntarily tipped backward. He landed on his backside, the terror still lingering on his face.
"Wah-gaga!! Gagaga!"
The Butcher's bizarre laughter drifted down to them from the Netherworld Light.
It seemed delighted that the cat head had successfully frightened Captain Hui.
Then it clenched its left hand, and the cat head flew straight back into its grasp.
A closer look would have revealed a completely transparent fishing line guiding it through the air.
"Xixi, have you noticed the Butcher's gotten a little smarter?" A Xin nudged An Xi with her elbow and whispered, "It never used to do this. It only followed Chu Sheng's instructions and did whatever he told it to. Without an order, it would just stay put."
"Yes." An Xi nodded.
