Only after driving into the village did Chu Sheng breathe a sigh of relief, though he still had no intention of getting out.
Although he had driven quite a few laps around the village, Anomalies would not regard inanimate objects as enemies, and the Netherbone Car concealed the life force of the humans inside.
Who knew what might happen if he got out?
Chu Sheng chose not to gamble.
Once everyone had entered the village, Captain Hui got straight out of his car. The other survivors, along with Zhu Qing and Old Man Li, all got out as well.
Even An Xi and A Xin, who had been dejected and listless after losing her hearing in both ears, got out.
A Xin was no longer hanging her head in despair, though. Instead, she looked curiously at the Train approaching from the distance.
Chu Sheng turned the Netherbone Car around and stayed inside.
Until he figured out what that Train was, he would not get out. At the first sign of trouble, he would make a run for it!
The Train had stopped blowing its whistle. Only a chugging sound came from the distance, growing louder as it drew closer.
Only when the Train came a little closer could Chu Sheng make out that it resembled a steam locomotive.
However, it did not belch black smoke like one. It merely looked similar, with an engine and connected carriages-more than thirty of them in total.
It was not particularly fast, nowhere near the speed of the Netherbone Car.
But that was only compared to the Netherbone Car.
By ordinary standards, the Train was hardly slow. It was traveling at least 150 kilometers an hour, much faster than those old trains.
