Yucas was quite surprised to see Jonas here.
Of course, there could have been any number of reasons for his visit. The Security Department was short-handed, someone had complained behind her back, he had come to reward her for the Void Realm Church incident...
Yucas considered many possibilities, but she had never imagined he would utter that name.
After briefly freezing, her brain began racing. Her already tangled thoughts grew even more chaotic.
"Uh, what are you talking about, Mr. Jonas...? I'm not sure I understand."
Yucas feigned bewilderment. She still remembered that his first assignment for her had been to infiltrate the Peacekeeping Forces and obtain information on "Yucas." She had completed that assignment "perfectly," and he had subsequently recalled her from the Peacekeeping Forces.
That alone suggested Jonas had not suspected her identity before the assignment. Otherwise, he would have confronted her sooner, and he would not have subsequently assigned her to work as security personnel in the Alt Conglomerate's Psionic Energy Department.
In other words, his suspicions had arisen after the Void Realm Church incident. That would also explain why Jonas had not seen her for two consecutive months. He had probably already begun suspecting her identity before then.
Thinking it over carefully, she had done nothing unusual during the Void Realm Church incident, so the problem could only have come from outside.
-Had those radicals in the Peacekeeping Forces leaked information about me to Jonas?
Yucas quickly arrived at that possibility, and her expression darkened.
Those thoughts flashed through her mind in an instant. Her attempt to play dumb did nothing to change Jonas's attitude. He simply said calmly:
"You should know perfectly well what I'm talking about, Miss Yucas."
She was, after all, a former ace of the Peacekeeping Forces. Seeing that she could no
