Jonas paused before asking.

If it was merely a matter of opposing allegiances, there might still be room for peaceful negotiations. But if their faiths differed, things would probably become rather troublesome.

Throughout history, conflicts over faith had often been the bloodiest of all. Even if Jonas did not actively provoke them, this conflict would be unavoidable.

Jonas rather hoped it was the former. After all, he had spent the past few months dealing with one incident after another, suffering varying degrees of damage both mentally and physically. "Utterly exhausted" might not have been quite the right description, but it was close enough.

Nothing would have been better than having some time to develop in peace.

Her answer, however, did not grant his wish.

Jonas felt somewhat resigned, then heard her continue:

"The god worshipped by the faction Litvica represents has deep ties to us."

The name Afanisi mentioned successfully caught Jonas's attention. Clearly, the woman called Litvica was one of the Void Realm Church's leaders who would soon be coming to District 25, and the person he would have to deal with.
