D-drinking?
Why had he suddenly brought that up?
Beigong Ling wondered if she had suddenly crossed into some parallel world. Hadn't they just been talking about his injuries? How had the conversation suddenly turned to drinking?
But Jonas looked perfectly calm, as though he wasn't joking.
"But weren't we still talking about the Federation? Why are we suddenly going drinking? Besides, you're injured..."
"There's not much to discuss about the Federation, or rather, now isn't the time. As for those minor injuries, they don't really matter. A little alcohol now and then, though, can do wonders for your mood."
Jonas stood up and slowly approached Beigong Ling. "I'm sure you've been under quite a bit of pressure too, Miss Beigong Ling. Why not join me for a few drinks?"
"Hmm..."
Beigong Ling pursed her lips and hesitated. Too much had been happening with the Star of Dawn lately, and she had built up a great deal of stress herself. On top of that, she had no idea when the Federation might attack, and some recent news had only piled on more pressure.
She had come here to discuss what they should do next, so how had she somehow ended up being dragged off for drinks?
"What, you don't want to?"
"It's not that, but weren't we discussing business? We should at least finish that before taking a break, right?"
Beigong Ling agreed with some reluctance, on the condition that they finish discussing business before going to the bar.
Besides, they would only be having a few drinks at the bar. She would watch how much she drank this time, so she probably wouldn't get drunk again, right?
"Business? Oh, right. I forgot you had business to discuss with me, Miss Beigong Ling. Please, go ahead."
