Ever since he had differentiated, no Omega had dared come near him, because his pheromones would inevitably suppress and affect them.
Even some powerful Alphas dared not stay beside Weisheng Tou for long. Whenever they tried to treat him, they would forcibly restrain him, sometimes even using anesthetics meant specifically for wild beasts.
But Mo Lu was different. Mo Lu was powerful enough to calm him with nothing more than a look from those green eyes.
Powerful enough to remain rational under the influence of his pheromones.
Weisheng Tou rested his forehead against the pillow, a smile curling at his lips.
Coming to the Mo Family really was the right choice.
Just as I thought, Mo Lu is the only one in this world who can cure me.
And he had gained an unexpected bonus, too.
He had never imagined that Mo Lu's pheromones would be so compatible with his own.
He wanted to bind Mo Lu to his side.
He wanted this "Brother Mo Lu," whom he had thought of and yearned for over fourteen years, to have his heart filled with thoughts of him, too.
Feeling the warmth radiating from the jade pendant against his chest, Weisheng Tou drifted into a slight daze. But a burst of searing pain across his back soon dragged his wandering thoughts back.
"Weisheng Tou, these wounds should heal completely in about two hours. Also, keep them away from water for two days."
Mo Lu picked up the soft cloth beside him and carefully wiped his hands.
"Young... Master," Weisheng Tou said hoarsely. "There are more... on my legs."
Mo Lu's hands paused, and his cold eyes turned toward Weisheng Tou.
Weisheng Tou gazed at him with eyes like obsidian, clear and unclouded, looking so innocent that he seemed to harbor no ulterior thoughts at all.
A suffocating silence settled over the room.
Mo Lu did not know why he was hesitating. As a witch doctor, he had seen hundreds of patients' bodies during his training alone-Alphas, Omegas, and, of course, Betas.
Yet when Weisheng Tou asked him to treat his injuries, he found himself wanting to avoid any appearance of impropriety for the first time.
Impropriety?
What impropriety was there to avoid?
Was I supposed to refuse to treat him just because our pheromones were too compatible?
"Take off your trousers."
Upholding his professional ethics as a healer, Mo Lu spoke to Weisheng Tou in a voice colder than ice and snow.
Weisheng Tou pulled off his trousers and lay back down on the couch.
Keeping his eyes lowered and his mind composed, Mo Lu took another paper talisman from the medicine box. He silently recited an incantation, reducing it to ashes in his hand, then sprinkled them over Weisheng Tou's firm thighs.
Weisheng Tou let out a muffled groan, but his eyes remained fixed on Mo Lu without blinking, his gaze burning.
"Do you want to lose those eyes?" Mo Lu kept his attention on Weisheng Tou's wounds.
Weisheng Tou's lashes trembled slightly. "It hurts," he said hoarsely, "so I need something to occupy myself."
Looking at the Omega before him made him feel a little better.
Being able to smell his pheromones would have been even better.
But never mind Mo Lu's pheromones-after Mo Lu's treatment, he could not even smell his own. All that lingered beneath his nose was the sandalwood fragrance in the room.
Mo Lu's Curse Technique worked countless times better than the blocking patches developed outside.
After finishing with the wounds, Mo Lu let out an imperceptible breath of relief.
He had never found treating a patient so torturous.
"Ye Liang."
"Yes." Ye Liang immediately knocked and entered.
At a glance, he saw Weisheng Tou lying on the couch, wearing nothing but a pair of trousers.
"Young Master, did you treat his injuries?" Ye Liang's voice grew slightly low.
"Yes. Bring me a bowl of water."
"Young Master!" Ye Liang stood rooted in place.
Mo Lu gave him a mild glance. "Do I need to repeat myself?"
"Young Master, you needn't have spent your energy treating him. He's a Super S-Rank Alpha. His constitution is already better than everyone else's!" Ye Liang's words grew slightly hurried.
"Since when have my actions required your scrutiny?"
Ye Liang lowered his eyes and stood there without speaking.
"Heh." Mo Lu gave a soft laugh. "Am I to fetch the water myself, then?"
"No, Young Master." Ye Liang abruptly raised his head, looked at Mo Lu, then at Weisheng Tou lying "weakly" on the couch. Gritting his teeth, he turned and left.
Propped halfway up, Weisheng Tou listened to their exchange. A trace of darkness flickered through his eyes, but he quickly resumed his innocent expression.
Ye Liang soon returned with a bowl of water.
Mo Lu took a talisman from the medicine box, reduced it to ashes, and scattered them into the water before handing it to Weisheng Tou. "Drink it."
Without hesitation, Weisheng Tou drained the bowl.
Only after watching Weisheng Tou finish did Mo Lu pick up the silk handkerchief on the table again and lower his eyes to wipe his fingers.
The black silk wound around his fingertips, making his fingers look even fairer and more slender. Even his clean nails seemed to glow faintly like warm jade.
Mo Lu said evenly to Ye Liang, "Take him to have his measurements taken, and ask Uncle Feng to make him two sets of clothes."
As Ye Liang watched Mo Lu, his Adam's apple bobbed slightly.
Noticing Ye Liang's gaze from the doorway, Weisheng Tou narrowed his long eyes.
Their outer corners already drooped slightly, and now they took on an indescribably vicious look.
Loose strands of hair fell over his shoulders, making Weisheng Tou look like a black panther lurking in the darkness.
His sharp black eyes fixed on Ye Liang. "Mr. Ye?" he said in a low voice.
After being soothed by a bowl of talisman water, his voice had become deep, husky, and magnetic.
Ye Liang withdrew his gaze and looked at Weisheng Tou. "Come with me."
Weisheng Tou rose. Rather than putting the ill-fitting robe back on, he followed Ye Liang out bare-chested.
As soon as Ye Liang stepped outside Mo Lu's room, he stopped. Turning slightly, he glanced back at Weisheng Tou, his amber eyes icy:
"Weisheng Tou, don't think everything will go your way just because you've entered the Mo Family."
A mocking smile curled at Weisheng Tou's lips.
If he had seen correctly just now, Ye Liang, a top-tier Alpha, had looked at Mo Lu, another "Alpha," with eyes full of possessiveness.
As though Mo Lu belonged exclusively to him.
Tsk.
Weisheng Tou's gaze shifted, catching sight of the blocking patch on the back of Ye Liang's neck.
With a wicked smile, Weisheng Tou slowly enunciated each word:
"Ye Liang, whatever happens, I'm already by the young master's side. And he... bathed me... treated me... even blocked my Alpha pheromones for me..."
At Weisheng Tou's last words, Ye Liang's A-rank Alpha aura erupted. He spun around and drove a vicious punch toward Weisheng Tou's face.
Weisheng Tou raised a hand to catch his fist, then clamped his large hand tightly around it. The sharp cracking of Ye Liang's knuckles was audible in the air.
"Ye Liang, are you sure you want to fight me here?"
Weisheng Tou's voice deepened slightly. Excitement flashed through his eyes, and the tip of his tongue brushed his lips.
Ye Liang tried to pull his fist back, only to discover that he could not break free of Weisheng Tou's grip at all.
A trace of horror crossed his face, but he immediately said coldly:
"Weisheng Tou, the young master is still inside. I won't pursue this with you."
"Heh."
Weisheng Tou gave a mocking laugh, then abruptly spread his fingers and released Ye Liang's fist.
"After you, Mr. Ye."
He raised an eyebrow and regarded Ye Liang lazily. The wounds on his chest, still not fully healed, gave him an indescribably bloodthirsty, feral air.
Ye Liang's expression darkened. Without looking at him again, he turned and walked away.
