After the Weisheng Family returned home, they made a huge fuss about having successfully sent a Super S-Rank Alpha to serve Mo Lu of the Mo Family.
Weisheng Yan was even more extravagant, praising Lan Mountain Residence to the skies and painting Mo Lu as an immortal living in seclusion in the mountains.
He also made sure to tell everyone how much Mo Lu doted on Weisheng Tou, how little he minded Weisheng Tou's "arrogant and brutal" temper, and how he had given him permission to bathe in the young master's private pool on his very first day.
Some families that had been planning to move against the Weisheng Family held back after hearing this.
The families that had previously sent handsome or beautiful Omegas to the Mo Family gradually began entertaining other ideas.
So Young Master Mo Lu actually liked Alphas?
Arrogant, brutal Alphas, at that?
That explained it.
Alphas did seem more likely than Omegas to stir someone's desire for conquest. They certainly suited Mo Lu's status and position.
As a result, over the next two days, visitors nearly wore out the threshold of Mo Lu's Lan Mountain Residence. The Alphas they brought were each more "haughty" than the last, but Ye Liang turned every single one away without hesitation.
Weisheng Tou leaned against the entrance to Lan Mountain Residence, watching the endless stream of people outside with a mocking smile on his lips-
These people wanted to latch on the moment they spotted a benefit, without even considering whether they were worthy.
Lan Mountain Residence had been a tranquil retreat in the mountains, but these vulgar people had thoroughly ruined its atmosphere.
Ugh, how annoying. I wanted to tear all their mouths apart.
Weisheng Tou rolled his wrists.
Ye Liang finally managed to send away the last group, only to turn and see Weisheng Tou standing by the entrance with his arms crossed.
It was clearly a luxurious, handmade suit, yet he somehow made it look roguish-
His long legs were casually crossed, the toe of one leather shoe resting loosely against a carved paving stone. He looked nothing like the bedraggled man in the cage two days earlier.
"Could you stand properly?!" Ye Liang made no effort to hide his disgust. "The young master told you to follow me, not supervise my work! You're supposed to work with me!"
Weisheng Tou ignored Ye Liang and glanced up.
It was already this late.
At this hour, the young master should have just finished bathing and be reading over tea in the tea room.
Ignoring Ye Liang, Weisheng Tou turned and strode toward the tea room.
"Weisheng Tou!" Ye Liang threw a punch at his back.
Weisheng Tou spun around and caught his fist with one hand.
"Ye Liang." Weisheng Tou tugged at his tie with his free hand, his black eyes looking even deeper and more sinister in the night. "Do you want to fight me that badly?"
"Weisheng Tou, don't think you can beat me just because you're strong."
A mocking smile curved across Ye Liang's handsome, chiseled face.
He had spent all these years learning at Young Master Mo Lu's side. Even if Weisheng Tou was a Super S-Rank Alpha, could his own combat experience possibly fall short of a man who had spent his life locked in a cage?
Impossible.
Ye Liang immediately lifted his leg, driving his knee hard toward Weisheng Tou's lower abdomen.
Weisheng Tou blocked downward at once, then pivoted, driving his elbow straight toward Ye Liang's throat. The blow whipped up a sharp, cold gust, as though he meant to take Ye Liang's life.
Ye Liang immediately leaned back to evade the attack.
Seizing the opening, Weisheng Tou swept his leg across like a heavy whip, kicking Ye Liang hard in the knee.
Crack.
Ye Liang collapsed to the ground.
"Oh, that fragile? Your bone didn't crack, did it?"
Weisheng Tou looked down at the suffering Ye Liang in surprise.
"Weisheng Tou!" Ye Liang gritted his teeth.
With both hands in his pockets, Weisheng Tou bent down to inspect Ye Liang from either side, then scratched his head with an air of helplessness.
"Mm, probably not. I barely used any strength, after all."
Then he straightened, a vicious smile curling at his lips, and simply turned and left.
"Young master."
Weisheng Tou pushed the door open and walked straight into the tea room.
"Mm." Mo Lu did not look up, continuing to leaf through the book in his hands.
Over the past few days, he had gone through almost all the Mo Family's ancient books, but he still could not find a design matching the curse mark on Weisheng Tou's lower abdomen.
What exactly was that curse mark for?
Mo Lu's brow furrowed slightly as he looked up at Weisheng Tou standing beside him.
Weisheng Tou's head was slightly bowed. The wolf-cut hair that had previously fallen in a tangled mess over his shoulders was now tied into a cute little tuft.
His tie hung loosely around his neck, revealing a small patch of fair skin on his chest.
The top two buttons of his white shirt were undone, but it still looked a little tight on him, even outlining his muscles.
He had somehow made a perfectly proper suit look as sexy as a wild leopard.
"Young master?"
Weisheng Tou looked up to find Mo Lu watching him, so he straightened slightly and adjusted his tie.
Mo Lu came back to himself. "Uncle Feng had that suit made for you in a hurry?"
Weisheng Tou lowered his eyes obediently. "Yes."
Mo Lu drew a deep breath-
What on earth had Uncle Feng made him!
"Tomorrow morning, you'll come with me to the Mo Family's main estate. In the afternoon, go buy two new sets of clothes."
Mo Lu stopped looking at Weisheng Tou and returned his attention to the book in his hands.
"Yes, young master." Weisheng Tou stepped forward as he answered, coming to stand in front of Mo Lu.
Mo Lu looked up at him.
"Young master, let me pour your tea." As he spoke, Weisheng Tou picked up the purple clay teapot beside them with his large, well-defined hand.
"No need. Go outside, and don't come in unless there's something you need."
Having Weisheng Tou pour tea for him felt like making a lion do embroidery.
But Weisheng Tou did not want to leave. His gaze grew ever clearer as he looked at Mo Lu, his voice deep and soft.
"Young master, since we're going to the Mo Family tomorrow, is there... anything I should be mindful of?"
"Just follow me." Listening to Weisheng Tou's husky voice, Mo Lu absently turned the pages of his book.
"Yes."
After pouring the tea, Weisheng Tou stood beside Mo Lu.
Catching the faint scent of roses beside him, Mo Lu turned toward Weisheng Tou and frowned.
"Go outside."
The scent of those pheromones kept him from concentrating.
Although he had already cast a curse technique on him, pheromones inevitably clung to his clothes, and Mo Lu could smell them whenever he came close.
Weisheng Tou softened his voice until he sounded obedient and cautious. "Young master, have I done something wrong?"
Looking at the tall Alpha's rather pitiful expression, Mo Lu rubbed his brow, a headache coming on. "...No."
Was this really a Super S-Rank Alpha?
Why did he seem so strange?
Had he been mistaken before? Did Weisheng Tou only look fierce, when he actually had no experience dealing with people?
Was it because he had been locked in a cage for too long? Was that why, after regaining his senses, he treated everyone so cautiously, with no awareness whatsoever that he was a Super S-Rank Alpha?
"Young master... if I've done anything wrong, could you please tell me... instead of sending me away...?"
Weisheng Tou knelt on one knee beside Mo Lu and looked up at him, his smoky voice low and gentle, husky yet resonant.
The slightly downturned corners of his eyes made him look innocent and pitiful. A few loose strands of hair fell across his forehead and beside his ears, making him look for all the world like a big German shepherd soaked by the rain.
