Background

Shi Jinse was born to a human woman who underwent mutation while pregnant. He possessed immense power and could maintain a human form. A Level V Heteromorph trained him as an apprentice and sent him to infiltrate humanity to discover its weaknesses, addressing him as “Number Three” 11.

Remiya found him in postwar ruins when he was nine, the same age as Lei Ouyan. Although she knew he was not human, she brought him home and made him a test subject for her Heteromorph Suppressant. He lived with her afterward and joined the medical team because he wanted to save people 11.

Remiya’s repeated injections weakened his Heteromorph genes without fully replacing them, allowing him to remain undetected in the base for years. Signs of mutation appeared when the injections stopped. The treatment he received was not the final version of the suppressant, whose formula only Remiya knew 11.

Personality

Shi Jinse is courteous and attentive, initially respecting Qin Miaomiao’s reluctance to approach him and leaving food and water within reach. When comforting the rabbit, he warms his hands before touching him and handles him as though he were a treasure 5.

His mild manner conceals a readiness to deceive, incapacitate others, or use force. He lies to inspectors about the rabbit’s death, tranquilizes pursuers with an innocent smile, and forcibly confines Qin for an examination after patient coaxing fails. He also steers Qin into delivering a supposed “secret weapon” to Lei by playing on the rabbit’s concern for him 5 6.

Despite his origins and assigned mission, Shi values the people who have treated him with warmth. He questions why an innocent rabbit should be condemned as a mutant, seeks to save Remiya despite the risk of losing his human form, and ultimately rejects his mentor’s designation in favor of his own name 6 11.
