Hierarchy and Internal Loyalty
- Senior assembly: Dou Sheng of five stars or above attend the great hall’s crisis meeting; lower-ranked experts await orders in Soul Saint City’s plaza 15.
- Bloodline privilege: Hun Clan members receive first claim on Hall of Souls cultivation resources. Non-clan personnel perform much of the dangerous soul-collection work 133.
- Ancestral authority: Reverence for Soul Emperor is reinforced by the clan’s bloodline. Members continue empowering him despite Hun Tiandi’s orders to stop 37 38.
- Competing leadership: Hun Tiandi and Nihility cooperate while suspecting each other of betrayal. Hun Tiandi eventually admits that he considered Nihility expendable 15 51 56.
Territory and Access
- Soul Realm: An independent spatial plane absent from ordinary maps. Entry requires a Hun Clan Spatial Jade Slip or a passage opened by a Hun Clan expert; ordinary space wormholes cannot reach it 15.
- Soul Saint City: Contains the plaza where the clan’s experts assemble for mobilization and Hun Tiandi’s wartime address 15 17.
- Replacement headquarters: Hun Tiandi and Nihility create a new space above a Central Plains mountain after the Soul Realm’s devastation 72.
- Hall of Souls network: Extends the clan’s influence through headquarters, branch halls, soul collectors, Venerable Elders, and Protectors. Its personnel include outsiders without Hun Clan bloodlines 11 133.
History
Ancient Wars and the Xiao Clan’s Fall
The Hun Clan fought the Tunling Clan in ancient times and previously resorted to summoning its ancestor during that conflict. Nihility Devouring Flame later acquired the Tunling Clan’s Spirit Devouring ability by consuming the origin of its last patriarch, according to the information exposed in Fan Tian’s leaflet 9 36.
A thousand years before the present conflict, Hun Tiandi led the campaign against the Xiao Clan. Hun records call it the “Xiao Slaughter War,” while other clans call it the Soul Xiao War. The campaign exploited Xiao Xuan’s refusal to abandon his people, ultimately forcing him to fight until self-detonation. Hun veterans later boast about massacres, enslavement, and sexual violence committed against Xiao descendants 15 22.
The victory left Hun Tiandi badly wounded by Xiao Xuan. Gu Yuan subsequently attempted to destroy the weakened Hun Clan, but the Lei, Yan, Yao, Stone, and Spirit Clans intervened and imposed restrictions on experts above Five-Star Dou Sheng 25.
Exposure by “Hun Mieba”
Fan Tian distributes 3,000 leaflets in Sacred Pill City under the false name Hun Mieba. They expose the clan’s two Nine-Star powers, bloodline-devouring methods, and concealed strength. The leaflets claim a hundred Dou Sheng and a thousand Dou Zun; those figures are presented as claims in the warning, not an independently verified census 9.
Representatives of the six rival clans compare the warning with disappearing experts and weakening bloodlines. They form an alliance under Gu Yuan and prepare an attack on the Soul Realm. The Hun Clan responds by ringing its Soul Bell, recalling its forces, and searching for a supposed internal traitor 12 13 14 15.
No Hun Mieba exists in the clan registry. Hun Tu and Hun Sha steer suspicion toward Hun Miesheng, citing his concealed strength, possible diversion of soul origin, and failure to retrieve the Xiao Ancient Jade. Hun Tiandi separately suspects Nihility Devouring Flame 15 16.
War of the Emperor Clans
The alliance attacks on two fronts: the Gu, Lei, Yan, and Yao forces confront the Hun Clan in the Soul Realm, while the Spirit and Stone Clans assault the Hall of Souls. Nihility openly confirms its bloodline predation and demonstrates the clan’s ability to replenish injured fighters with stolen bloodlines 17 18 21.
Unable to defeat Gu Yuan outright, Hun Tiandi becomes locked in prolonged combat and recovery cycles. The alliance adopts an attrition strategy supported by Yao Clan pill production. After a year and a half, it occupies nearly half the Soul Realm; Lei Ying reports losses of fifty percent of Hun experts against thirty percent of the allied army 22 46.
The Hun Clan summons Soul Emperor’s remnant as a countermeasure, but the ancestor recognizes Nihility’s Tunling connection and attacks it. Hun Tiandi defends Nihility, then destroys the formation when the ancestor overrides his authority. The remnant’s final attack cripples Nihility’s Spirit Devouring origin, permanently ending the clan’s ability to absorb other clans’ bloodlines 36 37 38 39.
Destruction of the Soul Realm Forces
The clan’s hidden killing formations turn the campaign into a mass-casualty disaster. Yao Dan helps destroy the eastern Gate of Dead Silence and kills Hun Yuantian in the backlash. Hun Tiandi escapes with Hun Yao, abandoning Nihility within the formation 51.
The Soul Realm’s Spirit-Devouring Life-Extinguishing Formation then operates beyond Hun Tiandi’s control. It feeds on nearly ten million allied troops and hundreds of millions of Hun civilians, slaughtering retreating forces and annihilating the Yao Clan’s million-strong army. The original Hun Clan is subsequently described as destroyed, though its strongest leaders survive 53 54 55.
A related catastrophe ravages the Central Plains. Remaining Hall of Souls forces flee, while Gu Yuan, Lei Ying, and Yan Jin destroy some formation nodes. The Spirit and Stone Clans escape to their own realms with heavy losses 54.
Remnants and the Ancient Jade Campaign
Hun Tiandi and Nihility renew their partnership despite mutual distrust. After securing the Spirit and Stone pieces, they attack the Yao Clan. Hun Tiandi breaks its protective formation and disperses the Medicine Emperor’s remnant; Yao Dan self-detonates, while Nihility and Hun Yao massacre those left behind 56 57.
The surviving Hun forces regroup at a new headquarters and coordinate attacks on the remaining Emperor Clans. Repeated assaults keep Gu Yuan occupied while Hun Yao devastates the Ancient Realm and Gu Yang steals the Gu and Xiao pieces. Hun Tiandi later claims possession of the Gu, Xiao, and Yao jades 72 120 123 125.
The Hall of Souls collapses as a major institution, but former personnel hide in branch halls or flee to the Northwest Continent. Some retain conditional loyalty, waiting to see whether Hun Tiandi ultimately wins. Qing Hai and Qin Tian later attempt to capture Yao Ling and Gu Xun’er, prompting the two women to unite against them 133 150.
Abilities and Military Assets
Spirit Devouring
Nihility Devouring Flame supplies the ability that sustains the clan’s bloodline and fuels its concealed expansion 9 17.
- Bloodline extraction: Consumes other Emperor Clans’ Dou Di bloodlines to strengthen cultivation and perpetuate the Hun lineage 9 17.
- Battlefield restoration: Releases bloodline-rich black mist to heal Hun fighters and replenish their strength. Yao Dan identifies Gu, Spirit, Lei, Xiao, and vanished ancient-clan bloodlines within it 18.
- Permanent loss: Soul Emperor’s remnant destroys Nihility’s Spirit Devouring origin, removing the clan’s bloodline-absorption capability 38 39.
Soul Harvesting
The Hall of Souls collects soul bodies across the continent and accumulates soul-origin resources for the clan 20 21 133.
- Harvested souls contribute to Hun Miesheng’s Heaven Realm Great Perfection soul strength 21.
- Hun Miesheng secretly siphons part of the stored soul origin for his own cultivation 20.
- Non-clan workers carry out much of the collection but receive lower priority for resources 133.
Soul-Fusion Infiltration
The clan’s secret soul-fusion technique allows agents to remain concealed inside rival institutions 9 130.
- Gu Yang remains embedded in the Ancient Realm for more than a thousand years, with access to its ancestral hall and Ancient Jade 125 130.
- Even Gu Yuan’s Emperor Realm soul fails to detect him through ordinary presence; uncovering clues requires deliberate, targeted inspection 130.
- After the theft, Gu Yuan orders examinations of every Gu member at Dou Zong rank or above 127.
Formations and Inherited Techniques
| Asset | Applications and Limits |
|---|---|
| Protective Clan Formation / Seal of Destruction | Combines the army’s Dou Qi, clan marks, bloodlines, and inherited arts into a colossal attack. It withstands successive Gu, Lei, and Yan formation strikes, but sustained exchanges inflict heavy casualties 18 19 22. |
| Spirit Devouring Formation | Hidden beneath the clan formation; consumes bloodlines and souls and supplies energy to Soul Emperor’s remnant 22 38. |
| Ancestral Summoning | Calls Soul Emperor’s remnant through the clan formation and sacrifices. The ancestor is powerful but has fragmented memories and can act against the current leadership 36 37 38. |
| Gate of Dead Silence | Traps the allied army as part of the clan’s killing-formation strategy. Destruction of its eastern gate causes a catastrophic backlash 51 109. |
| Spirit-Devouring Life-Extinguishing Formation | Self-sustaining ancient killing array fueled by mass death and surrounding natural energy. Its Soul Realm manifestation operates without Hun Tiandi’s control; the Central Plains array devastates cities indiscriminately 50 53 54. |
| Heaven-tier Dou Techniques | Senior fighters wield inherited techniques such as Hun Jing’s Withering Finger. Hun Tiandi uses Soul Devouring Wave, which Soul Emperor counters with the stronger Great Soul Devouring Wave 19 38. |
Strategic Warfare
- Coordinated diversions: Hun Tiandi and Nihility occupy top defenders while infiltrators and elite operatives seize Ancient Jade inside protected realms 120 123 125.
- Hostage shields: Hun Yao and Gu Yang use ordinary Gu clansmen to obstruct pursuit and counterattacks 123 125.
- Provocation and bait: Hun Xuzi, Hun Qianmo, and Hun Miesheng attempt to lure Yan and Lei defenders away from formation cores 127.
- Logistical weakness: Despite access to high-grade alchemy, Hun pill reserves cannot match the Yao Clan’s wartime stockpile 46.
Equipment and Important Items
- Soul Bell — Crisis alarm used to recall the clan’s scattered members and mobilize its army; its renewed ringing is the first in a thousand years 15.
- Spatial Jade Slips — Clan-specific means of accessing the otherwise isolated Soul Realm 15.
- Clan Leader Token — Allows Hun Tiandi to destroy the protective formation’s core 38.
- Emerald soul bracelet — Hun Xuzi’s bracelet contains part of Hun Tiandi’s soul. Its shattering serves as the signal to activate the Central Plains killing formation 50.
- Ancient coffins — Four concealed coffins open at separate locations in the Soul Realm, revealing aged figures as the clan prepares another hidden countermeasure 46.
Ancient Jade Operations
| Piece / Target | Documented Outcome |
|---|---|

| Stone Clan | Nihility possesses a jade bearing stone patterns after the Soul Realm campaign 56. |
| Gu Clan | Stolen from the ancestral hall by Gu Yang 123 125. |
| Xiao Clan | Taken alongside the Gu piece by Gu Yang 123 125. |
| Yao Clan | Hun Yao takes Yao Wangui’s sealed box, and Hun Tiandi subsequently claims the jade. However, Yao Dan earlier identifies that box as a Nine-Grade Profound Pill decoy and entrusts the actual jade to Yao Ling, who still carries it later 57 123 125 126. |
| Yan and Lei Clans | Targeted through distractions, infiltration, and attacks on their protective formations; no successful acquisition is documented in the supplied chapters 72 125 127. |
Relationships
- Hall of Souls — Subordinate organization responsible for Central Plains operations and soul collection. Its collapse leaves both Hun members and non-clan employees scattered 11 26 133.
