Background / History
Hu Liena is already Bibi Dong’s disciple and Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden when Shi Meng joins their household. Bibi Dong introduces him as her new junior disciple and future Holy Son, then entrusts her with taking him to eat and accompanying him to his Martial Soul awakening. Shi Meng’s subsequent appointment as Holy Son places him equal in standing to Hu Liena 2 5.
Xiao Wu remembers Hu Liena as one of her greatest romantic rivals for Shi Meng in a previous life. In the current timeline, however, Ning Rongrong, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing conclude from their observations that Hu Liena has not been reborn; this is their assessment rather than a confirmed account of her memories 15 25.

Hu Liena serves as Shi Meng’s first senior-disciple companion. She welcomes him into Spirit Hall, becomes angry when Miles and Raine insult him, and accompanies his first Soul Ring hunt. Although she initially warns against a thousand-year first ring, she enthusiastically celebrates his successful absorption 2 6 9.
During the hunt for his second ring, her charm helps subdue the Thunderfire Falcon. When Tang Tieshan and three companions demand the beast, she joins Shi Meng’s counterattack, immobilizing the group long enough for him to incapacitate them 11 12.
Rose Hotel and Dream Academy
Hu Liena insists on staying at Suotuo City’s Rose Hotel, bringing the pair into a dispute with Dai Mubai over its last suite. She proposes that Dai Mubai kneel, kowtow, and call Shi Meng “Grandpa” if he loses their wager, accepting his countercondition that she join Shrek Academy if their side loses 14 15.
Ning Rongrong’s intervention resolves the confrontation in Shi Meng’s favor. Hu Liena subsequently accompanies him to Dream Academy, where the arrival of Zhu Zhuqing and Qian Renxue introduces further competition for his attention 16 17 21 24.
Xiao Wu’s Identity Revealed
On the later Star Dou Great Forest expedition, Hu Liena questions Xiao Wu’s unusually detailed knowledge of the forest. Er Ming’s arrival leads her to suspect that Xiao Wu is a Soul Beast, and she tries to stop Shi Meng from pursuing the hundred-thousand-year Titan Giant Ape alone. Shi Meng renders her unconscious before leaving 27 29.
After waking, she learns that several companions and their Douluo guardians already knew Xiao Wu’s identity. Reassured that Xiao Wu has harmed no one and genuinely cares for Shi Meng, Hu Liena agrees to wait for him to handle the situation 30.
