"That's enough!"
A figure in a Jujutsu High uniform descended from the sky, driving the long sword in his hand deep into the ground between Yaga and Gakuganji.
Bricks shattered and dust scattered, and the newcomer's figure gradually came into focus before Yaga and the other two.
"You're..."
Yaga murmured as he looked at the person before him.
"Yuta Okkotsu! What are you doing here?!"
Even more shocked than Yaga was the Jujutsu Higher-Ups' personal enforcer.
"Aren't you supposed to be in Tokyo carrying out Yuji Itadori's execution?!"
The higher-ups should have already sent Okkotsu away!
The man in white couldn't believe his eyes.
Unlike Masamichi Yaga's Special Grade designation, Yuta Okkotsu possessed combat strength that genuinely matched his rank.
"Who are you?"
Hearing the man call his name, Okkotsu looked toward the white-clad figure standing atop a streetlight.
"Hmph, just in time."
The man in white forced himself to remain calm and ordered,
"I am an envoy sent by the Council of Elders! Yuta Okkotsu, I order you to assist Principal Gakuganji at once and apprehend the traitor Masamichi Yaga!"
Okkotsu slowly pulled his sword free.
"Oh? This is the first I've heard of anything like that. How exactly did Principal Yaga become a traitor?"
"That's none of your concern. Hurry up and carry out your orders."
Okkotsu's indifference left the white-clad envoy growing impatient.
A mere Special Grade dared to question orders from their Council of Elders. He had no respect for hierarchy whatsoever.
"As expected of a student raised by Satoru Gojo. You're all cut from the same rotten cloth."
The sword flashed through a series of slashes. Before the white-clad envoy could react, Yuta Okkotsu had already sheathed his blade.
With the click of the sword sliding home, the envoy lost his footing. The metal streetlight beneath him split into several sections in an instant, each cut smooth and clean.
Never expecting Yuta Okkotsu to dare attack him, the envoy was caught off guard and fell flat on his backside.
"Ow, ow, ow."
Before the envoy could lash out, still rubbing his aching backside, a long, hard, black object poked him in the face.
"What was that you just said?"
Okkotsu pointed his scabbard at the envoy, his gaze icy.
Yuta Okkotsu had always held the teacher who had pulled him out of despair in the deepest respect. How could he tolerate anyone slandering Satoru Gojo to his face?
Even the envoy couldn't help shivering at Okkotsu's cold killing intent. But he represented the dignity of the Jujutsu Higher-Ups, and naturally couldn't bow his head before a wet-behind-the-ears child like Okkotsu.
"You dare point a sword at me! Yuta Okkotsu, are you trying to betray Jujutsu Society?!"
Reaching out to grab the scabbard before him, the envoy tried to push it aside, only to discover that his strength couldn't budge Okkotsu in the slightest. He threatened him sharply:
"Don't forget, you made a Binding Vow with the higher-ups!"
Before his words had faded, Itadori and the others' voices rang out in the distance.
"Okkotsu! Principal Yaga! Are you all right?"
"Hey! Masamichi! Are you okay?"
Itadori and the others appeared at the end of the road and soon reached Yaga. With them was the cursed corpse Panda, whom they had rescued from confinement.
"Is that Sukuna's vessel?"
The envoy's gaze sharpened before he turned to Okkotsu in disbelief.
"So you've already found Yuji Itadori. Why is he still alive?! That's impossible! You personally made a Binding Vow before the higher-ups!"
Yuji Itadori wasn't dead, and Yuta Okkotsu stood before him equally unharmed. The envoy, who had inherited the higher-ups' rigid thinking, simply couldn't believe such a thing could happen.
Yuta Okkotsu said calmly,
"Once you know the terms of a Binding Vow, it's easy to find a loophole and get around it. Only inflexible relics of the old era like you take it so seriously."
The envoy's eyes widened.
"You planned this all along!"
Okkotsu smiled faintly, neither confirming nor denying it.
"So that's how it is, Yuta Okkotsu! You betrayed the elders long ago! Just you wait. I'll report this to headquarters immediately. By tomorrow, news of your group's defection will spread throughout Jujutsu Society!"
An immense surge of cursed energy erupted as Okkotsu drew his sword without hesitation. Brilliant blade light swallowed the envoy's vision.
Feeling the powerful cursed energy pulsing from the sword, the envoy instinctively shut his eyes at the threat of death mere inches away. Overwhelming fear flooded his heart, and for a moment he even lost control of his body. A pungent smell rose from beneath him. When he came to his senses, his crotch was already soaked.
Okkotsu's attack hadn't been aimed at the envoy. Instead, it swept past his side and surged ahead. Wherever the blade light passed, buildings and vegetation alike vanished without a trace. The long, narrow sword scar stretched for over a hundred meters.
Was this the power of a true Special Grade?
The envoy touched his cheek. There was no sweat, only a puddle of unidentified liquid on the ground.
So it was urine. Of course. How could an opponent of this caliber possibly make him sweat?
"You can get lost now."
No longer caring about appearances, the envoy moved to flee the moment Okkotsu spoke.
"Oh, and remember to pass along a message for me."
The envoy trembled but stopped in his tracks, liquid dripping down his trouser legs.
Okkotsu spoke slowly.
"Without Gojo, the Jujutsu Higher-Ups are nothing."
After waiting a moment and seeing that Okkotsu had nothing more to say, the envoy vanished from everyone's sight.
At some point, Lu Yun had appeared behind Okkotsu, the cursed energy rippling around him not yet fully settled.
"Is it okay to just let him leave like that?"
Yuta Okkotsu shook his head.
"It's fine. Mr. Lu Yun, you and Gojo were right. Those rotten higher-ups lost the right to dictate Jujutsu Society's future a long time ago. We should decide for ourselves what we're going to do."
To obtain the principal's secret of creating cursed corpses, they had outright sentenced Principal Yaga to death, using it to force him to surrender his method for making special cursed corpses. This had made Yuta Okkotsu see exactly how those so-called Jujutsu Higher-Ups operated.
Before Gojo was sealed, they had at least shown some restraint out of fear of his overwhelming power. Okkotsu hadn't expected that the moment something happened to his teacher, those vermin would stop even pretending.
Fortunately, Lu Yun had warned him. Otherwise, Okkotsu might have remained in the dark, only to receive news of the principal's death without ever knowing what was happening.
The mere thought that it could have happened made Okkotsu's stomach churn with disgust.
He hadn't noticed it when Gojo was around, but now that he faced the higher-ups' dark side himself, Okkotsu admired his teacher for somehow holding back from slaughtering those vermin.
Had he been in Gojo's position, he might not have endured it for even a day.
At that thought, Okkotsu's respect for Satoru Gojo deepened further.
"Once we unseal Gojo, I'll have to deal with these people properly alongside him."
The most important thing right now was to first get the method for unsealing Satoru Gojo from Tengen.
"By the way, Mr. Lu Yun, why haven't I seen you this whole time?"
Okkotsu looked at Lu Yun in puzzlement. With Lu Yun's abilities, he should have arrived faster than Okkotsu.
"Oh, I ran into an old bastard. Unfortunately, he got away."
An old bastard?
