Background / History

Itadori grew up in Sendai with his grandfather, who raised him single-handedly. He remembers little of either parent, but possesses a hazy infancy memory of his grandfather warning his father, Jin, to stay away from a woman with stitches across her forehead 29.

After his grandfather’s death, Itadori believed he had no family left. Lu Yun later identifies the stitched woman as Kenjaku, who had inhabited both Itadori’s mother and Choso’s father. This establishes Itadori and Choso as biological brothers despite their different immediate parents 29.
