"Someone who can rival Satoru??"
Masamichi Yaga was stunned. From what Itadori and the others had said, he had assumed Lu Yun merely had the strength of an ordinary Special Grade Sorcerer.
Yuki Tsukumo raised her eyebrows, her eyes brimming with interest.
"I never imagined you thought so highly of him, Special Grade Sorcerer Okkotsu."
To lend weight to Okkotsu's words, Lu Yun obligingly released his cursed energy.
He stopped concealing his presence, revealing a total cursed energy reserve at the very peak of fourteen fingers!
His overwhelming aura actually stirred up a gust in the underground chamber, whipping everyone's hair and the hems of their clothes.
"I see. That amount of cursed energy alone is no joke."
Yuki Tsukumo's expression grew serious. She finally believed Okkotsu wasn't joking.
Of course, a jujutsu sorcerer's strength couldn't be judged solely by their total cursed energy. Plenty of powerful sorcerers had unimpressive reserves. Satoru Gojo, hailed as the Modern Strongest, actually had less cursed energy than his student, Yuta Okkotsu.
Still, cursed energy was the foundation of a jujutsu sorcerer's power. Anyone with enormous reserves could hardly be weak.
Yuta Okkotsu was the prime example. Simply coating his entire body in cursed energy was enough for him to defeat the vast majority of sorcerers in Jujutsu Society, even without using his cursed technique.
"Is there something different about Gojo-sensei?"
Yuji Itadori was a little puzzled. Weren't Yuki Tsukumo and Yuta Okkotsu Special Grade Sorcerers just like Gojo-sensei? Why had everyone reacted so strongly to the claim that Lu Yun could rival Satoru Gojo?
Since Satoru Gojo was the first Special Grade Sorcerer Itadori had met, he had assumed all the others were roughly as strong as his teacher.
Everyone turned to Itadori in disbelief.
"Huh? Did I say something weird?"
Itadori was at a loss.
At that moment, his companion Megumi Fushiguro stepped forward to explain:
"That man is an anomaly, even among Special Grade Sorcerers."
Satoru Gojo wasn't an ordinary Special Grade Sorcerer like Okkotsu or Tsukumo. If there was a clear, visible gap between an ordinary Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer and a Special Grade Sorcerer, then the gulf separating them from Satoru Gojo had no end in sight. It was a chasm no ordinary person could cross, even with a lifetime of effort.
Special Grade was the limit of the sorcerer ranking system, not Satoru Gojo's limit. That was why everyone at Jujutsu High was so determined to unseal him. They believed that, before Satoru Gojo's absolute strength, every problem would resolve itself.
What they hadn't expected, however, was that Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses from a thousand years ago, was another anomaly just like Satoru Gojo.
That was why everyone from Jujutsu High was so shocked when Okkotsu claimed Lu Yun could rival Satoru Gojo.
Some random passerby could crush all of Jujutsu Society? What a joke.
As for whether Lu Yun could stand shoulder to shoulder with Satoru Gojo, all one could say was that he would eventually. Right now, though, it was still a little doubtful.
Even Lu Yun couldn't help blushing at Okkotsu's glowing praise. Still, given how much Okkotsu trusted him, he certainly wouldn't let him down. Even if a twenty-finger Sukuna appeared right then, Lu Yun would steel himself and go land a couple of blows on him.
"I admit you have Special Grade strength, but whether you can rival Satoru Gojo is something we'll have to test in a fight. Well? Interested?"
Tsukumo gave Lu Yun a challenging look as she spoke.
Having trained a disciple like Aoi Todo, Yuki Tsukumo was just as enthusiastic about fighting. Besides, as a fellow Special Grade Sorcerer, she was intensely curious about what abilities Lu Yun possessed to earn such high praise from Okkotsu.
"I'd love to."
Lu Yun had been struggling to find an excuse to fight this Special Grade powerhouse. He hadn't expected her to offer herself up.
"Is that really a good idea? Don't we still need to find Master Tengen?"
Maki objected. Wasn't their top priority getting the method to unseal Satoru Gojo from Tengen?
"Now, now. I'm just going to spar a little with Mr. Lu Yun here. It won't take long."
Unable to resist Tsukumo's enthusiasm, everyone could only agree.
Two figures stood facing each other in silence on Tokyo Jujutsu High's training grounds.
To avoid interfering with their spar, the others, including Okkotsu, had put a considerable distance between themselves and Lu Yun and Tsukumo, watching from afar.
"Which of them will win?"
"If Okkotsu-senpai says Lu Yun can rival Gojo-sensei, then it has to be Lu Yun, right?"
Itadori offered his prediction in all seriousness.
Maki disagreed.
"No, I think Miss Tsukumo will win. Yuta is too modest. He always rates other people too highly. He even said he was weaker than that guy Hakari."
Yuta Okkotsu didn't know how to defend himself, so he could only stand there with a helpless, wry smile.
"Look, they're about to start!"
Everyone immediately focused on the training grounds.
"Before we begin, there's something I want to ask you."
A white-boned shikigami resembling a spine circled overhead. Yuki Tsukumo wore a black sleeveless qipao on top and jeans below, perfectly outlining her tall, well-proportioned figure. She bent forward slightly, bracing her left hand on her knee. Touching her lips lightly with the fingers of her right hand, she blew Lu Yun a kiss.
"Lu Yun, what type of woman do you like?"
Not expecting Tsukumo to bring up that subject now, Lu Yun cupped his chin with one hand and looked up at the sky.
"If I had to say, I like mature women with long, straight black hair and big boobs, like the upperclassman in Saekano, Utaha Kasumigaoka. Someone with full, shapely thighs who likes wearing black pantyhose.
"Of course, personality-wise, ideally she'd be like Asuna from Sword Art Online. Gentle and kind, with no dating experience. A tsundere when we first meet, but as we get to know each other, she'd become mature and accepting, willing to stay beside and support the person she loves for the rest of her life.
"Oh, and Orihime Inoue. The greatness of Himegami needs no explanation!!"
His face filled with longing, Lu Yun fantasized about his perfect partner. Tears of happiness even trickled from the corner of his mouth.
If he couldn't find someone like that, he simply wouldn't die.
The sight was such a stark contrast to the supremely confident Lu Yun they had seen earlier that Yuki Tsukumo's eyes widened and her mouth fell open. Without the slightest mercy, she shattered his fantasy:
"How could a woman like that possibly exist in real life? No dating experience? Hah! A girl with both good looks and a good personality would have countless people fighting over her back in her school days-boys and even girls. How could she possibly have never dated anyone?
"Don't make your big sister Yuki laugh. People like that only exist in fiction. I never would've guessed you were such a hardcore otaku."
With Yuki Tsukumo mercilessly puncturing his fantasy, Lu Yun flew into a rage:
"What have anime fans ever done to you?!"
