Ch. 1742A Fallen Leaf

Qin Siyang fought to survive the Large God’s draining roots by eating its remains while waiting for the red boundary to reach the canopy. He died just as the final leaf changed, and the trial’s end restored his body and brought his heart back to life.

  • Qin Siyang swallowed pieces of the Large God’s remains to replenish his strength while its roots drained his blood and its spikes attacked him.
  • Qin Siyang saw the red color spreading up the flesh tree and resolved to hold out until it reached the canopy.
  • After he ran out of substantial remains, Qin Siyang swallowed tiny scraps but grew too weak to dodge the spikes piercing him.
  • Qin Siyang collapsed and stopped breathing while part of the final leaf remained green.
  • The last leaf turned yellow and fell, ending the attacks as the tree glowed red and the miasma dispersed.
  • Qin Siyang’s body regenerated, and his chest jolted as his heart beat again.

Ch. 1743Grandpa Bull

Qin Siyang learned that he had passed Tai Sui Banyan’s Succession Trial and received a reward that would make leaving the Eighth Domain easier. He suspected Power Bull had arranged the help and ended the chapter convinced that the god was his backer.

  • Qin Siyang woke inside the giant tree after the red leaf vanished and the trunk drew him into its inner space.
  • Tai Sui Banyan congratulated Qin Siyang for passing the trial and told him to use its name rather than call it Lord Sacred Banyan.
  • Qin Siyang assessed Tai Sui Banyan as a cautious god with some authority while they discussed his struggle to survive in the Eighth Domain.
  • Tai Sui Banyan offered Qin Siyang a reward that would make leaving the Eighth Domain much easier.
  • Qin Siyang connected the reward to Power Bull’s earlier gesture and decided that Grandpa Bull was supporting him.

Ch. 1744Reading Between the Lines of Roundabout Talk

Qin Siyang interpreted the Tai Sui Banyan’s roundabout hints as instructions to leave the Eighth Domain and explore the ocean. After passing the Succession Trial, he received the [Wind Leaf] skill, which could help him evade the powerful Invaders outside.

  • Qin Siyang inferred from the Tai Sui Banyan’s words that he should leave the Eighth Domain and continue taking the trials of Large Gods.
  • The Tai Sui Banyan steered Qin Siyang toward exploring the ocean, and Qin Siyang resolved to leave the Eighth Domain as soon as possible.
  • Qin Siyang realized that a vanished leaf had helped him pass the trial, and the Tai Sui Banyan awarded him the [Wind Leaf] skill.
  • Qin Siyang worried that the Invaders might detect him when he used the skill to escape, and the Tai Sui Banyan told him to think of a way around them.

Ch. 1745I'm in My Leaf-Shedding Period

Qin Siyang completed Tai Sui Banyan’s Succession Trial and learned he would need to prepare for trials in the ocean, though he remained unsure why. After Qin Siyang left, Tai Sui Banyan revealed that he had passed because Mu Rongzhiyuan deliberately shed a leaf, paying a heavy price to help him.

  • Tai Sui Banyan sent Qin Siyang back to the Dense Forest after explaining his trial reward, and Qin Siyang decided to recover and prepare for the ocean.
  • Tai Sui Banyan told Mechanical-Bone Ape and Niu Douchong that Qin Siyang had passed a perilous trial, then hinted that his near-death had a special meaning.
  • The Succession Envoy questioned Tai Sui Banyan about passing Qin Siyang despite one leaf remaining unstained, and Tai Sui Banyan blamed his species’ leaf-shedding period.
  • Niu Douchong thanked Mu Rongzhiyuan for helping their future and welcomed him as a comrade, while Mechanical-Bone Ape noted that shedding the leaf had cost him dearly.

Ch. 1746The Mechanical-Bone Ape's Nonsense

Mu Rong Zhiyuan tried to turn Niu Douchong against the Mechanical-Bone Ape, who revealed unsettling knowledge about the Tai Sui Banyan race and its past. The Mechanical-Bone Ape left for Mountain Ridge after explaining that he had learned about the race’s [leaf-shedding period] from its own members.

  • Mu Rong Zhiyuan urged Niu Douchong to kill the Mechanical-Bone Ape, accusing him of threatening their future cooperation.
  • Niu Douchong refused, citing the Mechanical-Bone Ape’s recommendation and useful advice, and asked him to explain himself.
  • The Mechanical-Bone Ape questioned Mu Rong Zhiyuan about the Tai Sui Banyan race’s [leaf-shedding period] and asked whether Mu Rong Ping was dead.
  • Mu Rong Zhiyuan said his race had never had a god named Mu Rong Ping and identified Mu Rong Cui as its chief god.
  • The Mechanical-Bone Ape suggested Mu Rong Cui had concealed the race’s secrets and its past, then said other beings already knew about the [leaf-shedding period].
  • Mu Rong Zhiyuan stayed silent, and the Mechanical-Bone Ape leaped away into Mountain Ridge.

Ch. 1747Returning Power to the People

After returning to the Safe Zone, Qin Siyang sought a large supply of Life-Saving Medicine and began planning an expedition to the Ocean that would require a team. At the first postwar meeting, Gu Weirong proposed dissolving the war readiness zones and restoring people’s freedom as the Safe Zone moved beyond wartime rule.

  • Qin Siyang issued a Joint Medical Association mission offering rare materials and High-Tier Tools for unlimited quantities of Life-Saving Medicine, then told Chen Fenghe that his needs had grown after reaching the domain sequence.
  • Chen Fenghe shared her progress toward the domain sequence and promised to find medicine for Qin Siyang, who thanked her as his Master's Wife.
  • Qin Siyang decided to explore the Ocean and undertake the Oceanic Large God Trial, concluding that he needed to assemble a team.
  • Qin Siyang and Li Tianming attended the memorial for Xiao Zhigang before the Safe Zone’s first formal postwar meeting.
  • Gu Weirong proposed dissolving the war readiness zones and restoring the previous system so people could regain freedom and the Safe Zone could resume development.

Ch. 1748Sharing Information

Gu Weirong’s plan to restore the Safe Zone’s development and reorganize its regions won support, and the meeting turned to exploring more Large Gods’ trials. Qin Siyang revealed he had passed more trials than the four whose methods could help others, then called on everyone to work together against new gods in the Eighth Domain.

  • Gu Weirong explained that the Safe Zone should dismantle its War Readiness Zones and resume development, and the attendees supported the plan.
  • Kav voiced concern about problems arising during the transition, and Chu Zhongxiong reassured him that restoring order would be manageable.
  • Chen Zhongming proposed contiguous regional divisions, and Gu Weirong agreed that the new boundaries would improve administration and development.
  • Gu Weirong said the United Government would retain ten state-level regions and assign the rest to states, then moved the meeting on to Large Gods’ Succession Trials.
  • Gu Weirong announced that Qin Siyang had shared the methods for passing the trials of Power Bull, Sturgeon Crocodile, Red Carp, and Tai Sui Banyan, shocking the attendees.
  • Qin Siyang explained that he had passed other Large Gods’ trials too, but those gods had left Earth, and urged everyone to work together to explore new trials in the Eighth Domain.

Ch. 1749The plan to form a team

Qin Siyang explained why the Safe Zone needed to pursue the Large Gods' Succession Trials and announced plans to organize its leaders into two teams. He also revealed that he would soon leave on a dangerous expedition and began outlining the team he needed.

  • Qin Siyang urged those who had reached or were approaching the domain sequence to pursue the Large Gods' trials so the Safe Zone could explore beyond the Eighth Domain and defend itself.
  • Gu Weirong divided the leaders into a team managing the Safe Zone under her direction and an expedition team led by Olof, with members to choose their focus and report to Gu Weirong.
  • Qin Siyang announced that he would soon leave to seek Large Gods and undertake Succession Trials, and asked the leaders to keep his departure secret from the Invaders.
  • Qin Siyang said he needed an eight-person expedition team with combat, survival, research, and medical specialists.
  • Li Tianming offered to fill a researcher position, but Qin Siyang refused because Li Tianming's comprehensive expertise and coordination work were essential to the Safe Zone.

Ch. 1750Eight-Person Team

Qin Siyang assembled an eight-person expedition team, weighing volunteers’ skills and trustworthiness as he filled its fighter, medical, support, and research slots. The final research position went to Teacher Quan, though Li Tianming’s approval carried a note of disappointment.

  • Zhang Kuang volunteered as a researcher, and Old Johnny offered to join as a top-tier fighter, but Duan Chongfang claimed that fighter slot instead.
  • Old Johnny offered his medical skills and was accepted after Gu Weirong and Olof supported his inclusion.
  • Chen Fenghe volunteered for a medical slot, but Zhao Fengjun joined instead, citing her higher level.
  • Gu Weihong and Hu Chan filled support slots, while Chu Baxing resented being passed over.
  • Li Tianming offered to join as a researcher, but Qin Siyang chose Teacher Quan for the last research slot.

Ch. 1751Tracing the source

Qin Siyang prepared for his expedition by asking Huo Dangkou to trace the assassination order against Chu Zhongjie. After rejecting Liu Yingxue’s attempt to use her daughter Yan Ran to gain influence, he learned Zhao Longteng had ordered the killing.

  • Qin Siyang went to Johnny's Tavern and asked Huo Dangkou to identify who had ordered Chu Zhongjie’s assassination.
  • Huo Dangkou contacted a former World-Destroying Church member, and Qin Siyang agreed to spare her past involvement if she had taken no part in its atrocities.
  • The informant revealed she was Liu Yingxue, Governor Liu Yingfeng’s older sister and Yan Ran’s mother.
  • Liu Yingxue asked whether Qin Siyang might marry Yan Ran, but he condemned her for neglecting her daughter during the Yan Character Legion Internal Conflict and trying to exploit her power.
  • Liu Yingxue told Qin Siyang that Zhao Longteng had issued the order to kill Chu Zhongjie.

Ch. 1752I don't want to

Qin Siyang learned that Zhao Longteng had arranged Chu Zhongjie’s murder and sought Huo Dangkou’s advice on how to handle it. After hearing Zhao Longteng explain the killing, Qin Siyang struggled with how to tell Chu Zhongxiong, while Zhao asked him to keep the truth from Chu.

  • Qin Siyang confirmed with Liu Yingxue that Commander Zhao had posted the job, then asked Huo Dangkou for advice.
  • Huo Dangkou urged Qin Siyang to support Zhao Longteng and prioritize stability over pursuing a potentially endless purge.
  • Qin Siyang went to the Zhao Character Legion’s headquarters and told Zhao Longteng that he had uncovered the truth about Chu Zhongjie’s death.
  • Zhao Longteng explained that Chu Zhongjie had taken money from several factions without delivering, so Zhao, Lei Xiaoting, and Han Shuo had agreed to have him killed.
  • Zhao Longteng revealed that he had hired a World-Destroying Church assassin and asked Qin Siyang not to let Chu Zhongxiong learn the truth.

Ch. 1753The Shattering of Perfectionism

Zhao Longteng advised Qin Siyang not to interfere in his conflict with Chu Zhongxiong, prompting Qin to reconsider his ideal of becoming a perfect Domain Master. After deciding to keep the matter hidden for now, Qin went to the Underground City and confronted the Woman about her identity.

  • Zhao Longteng urged Qin Siyang to let him and Chu Zhongxiong resolve their conflict themselves, and Qin refused to let the World-Destroying Church members who revealed the secret be silenced.
  • Qin Siyang reconsidered his belief that he could create a frictionless, perfectly fair Safe Zone and decided to follow Zhao Longteng's advice for now.
  • Qin Siyang returned to the Underground City, where the shops were crowded after the victory over the Invaders.
  • Qin Siyang used Conversation Shielding to ask the Woman at her stall who she really was.
  • The Woman avoided giving her identity, and Qin Siyang seized her wrist and said it mattered greatly to him if she was the person he suspected.

Ch. 1754Professor Quan

Qin Siyang confirmed that the Woman was not Wen Shu and prepared to leave the Eighth Domain with eight companions on a Near-Death Expedition. At the pre-departure briefing, he introduced Professor Quan Taibin and explained his research, while Quan’s awkward Chinese led to a discussion about his dictionary.

  • Qin Siyang questioned the Woman about whether she was Wen Shu, then apologized and left the Underground City after she denied it.
  • Qin Siyang gathered his eight companions, outlined plans to pass the Tai Sui Banyan’s trial and other Large Gods’ trials, and warned them to stay within their limits.
  • At Gu Weihong’s request, Qin Siyang introduced Professor Quan Taibin and explained his academic role and research on drawing Medium and Small Gods to objects that mimicked Large Gods.
  • Quan Taibin used the phrase “mistakingly” and defended it by showing Qin Siyang a Chinese dictionary.
  • Zhao Fengjun recognized the dictionary as a 2001 edition and explained that the publisher’s owners had once made their living selling pirated books and discs.

Ch. 1755A battle at the border

Five Eighth Domain ability users crossed the Great River to probe the invaders and test their strength. After a dangerous exchange, both sides withdrew and reported their estimates of the enemy’s forces to their Domain Masters.

  • Li Tianming detected three enemy afterimages, and Wei Rulai, Zhu Haifeng, Tian Luzhang, and Chu Baxing joined him in attacking the concealed sentries beyond the river.
  • The five invaders were forced into the open, but Wei Rulai and Chu Baxing noted how difficult it was to kill enemies outside the Eighth Domain’s protection.
  • A burly blond invader fired a barrage that a thin mage redirected around Li Tianming’s vine shield, while Tian Luzhang swallowed the attack in fog that was then frozen and detonated.
  • Zhu Haifeng pulled Tian Luzhang clear, a twin-bladed invader cut apart Chu Baxing’s shadow, and Wei Rulai blocked the invader’s blades of light.
  • Both groups stopped fighting and withdrew, then the invaders concluded that the Eighth Domain had at least seven, and perhaps ten, domain sequence ability users.

Ch. 1756Searching for the missing

After the Wind Path scattered the Exploration Eight-Person Team, Qin Siyang gathered Quan Taibin, Zhao Fengjun, and Old Johnny and began searching for the missing members. They expanded their search into unfamiliar territory, still hoping to find Zhang Kuang, Hu Chan, and the others.

  • Quan Taibin cried out after losing a leg, and Zhao Fengjun treated him until it grew back.
  • Qin Siyang explained that the Invaders had changed the Wind Path and scattered the team, and Old Johnny pressed him to find the missing members quickly.
  • The group entered Qin Siyang’s Capsule Pod and set out to search, since most of their tracking devices had been damaged.
  • Quan Taibin joked with Qin Siyang about pirated-book sayings until Zhao Fengjun tore up and burned his book.
  • Qin Siyang drove in widening circles through unexplored mountains and forests while everyone searched for signs of their companions.

Ch. 1757The Large God Undergoing a Trial

Qin Siyang and his companions found a Large God whose phosphorescent mist suggested that someone was undergoing a Succession Trial, so they concealed themselves nearby to wait. Just as they took position, someone approached through the canyon.

  • Quan Taibin spotted a pulsing giant mushroom, and Qin Siyang identified it as a Large God that might be conducting a Succession Trial.
  • Qin Siyang hurled a tree into the phosphorescent mist, where it dissolved, and the group concluded the Large God had activated a defense mechanism around a trial.
  • Qin Siyang and the others decided to guard the area in case the person undergoing the trial was one of their companions.
  • Quan Taibin used a concealment item to hide himself, and Qin Siyang praised how difficult it was to detect.
  • Qin Siyang split the group into two concealed pairs, keeping himself with Old Johnny, and someone stirred in the canyon.

Ch. 1758Four People from the European Nation

Qin Siyang and Old Johnny watched four powerful newcomers prepare to attack a Large God who was already conducting a [Succession Trial]. With the pair outmatched, Qin Siyang proposed a gamble based on the Life-Substitution Lamps that had appeared during the invasion.

  • Qin Siyang and Old Johnny assessed the four Europeans and realized they faced at least four domain sequence level twos.
  • Old Johnny refused to wait for the person taking the trial to emerge, insisting they protect Director Zhang and deal with the enemies themselves.
  • Old Johnny admitted that protecting his brother mattered more to him than being a hero, and Qin Siyang warned him to stop testing his patience.
  • The four newcomers spotted the Large God, hid behind an umbrella to confer, then spread out with offensive items to prepare an attack.
  • Qin Siyang concluded that someone outside their group was taking the trial and asked Old Johnny if he remembered the Life-Substitution Lamps from the invasion.

Ch. 1759Surprise attack

Qin Siyang and Old Johnny ambushed four First Domain explorers to prevent them from escaping and alerting the other domains. Qin killed their leader, but the survivors regrouped, and he turned his attention to the Life-Substitution Lamp's effects.

  • Qin Siyang explained that First Domain elites might carry multiple Life-Substitution Lamps and planned to kill their leader, pursue his teleportation, and leave the others to Old Johnny.
  • Qin launched a spear attack without using skills, killing the blond slicked-back-haired leader with one thrust and triggering a crow-shaped Life-Substitution Lamp.
  • Old Johnny pierced the Black-Robed Woman with a Blood Thread and began draining her blood.
  • The Black-Robed Woman transformed into an Empty Cloak to evade Qin's spear, then re-formed more than ten meters away while the Blood Thread remained attached.
  • The surviving burly man, lanky transporter, and Black-Robed Woman took defensive positions, and Qin leaped into the air to examine the changes around him.

Ch. 1760You dare take it head-on?

Qin Siyang used the Life-Substitution Lamp’s rebirth point to kill the slicked-back blond man repeatedly, then pursued the burly man while Old Johnny fought the black-robed woman. Qin Siyang struck the burly man after suppressing his skill level, blasting him through a line of trees.

  • Qin Siyang spotted the Life-Substitution Lamp’s rebirth point and killed the burly European man at his original position as the lamp’s effect took his life.
  • Qin Siyang attacked the floating dust as the blond man re-formed, killing him repeatedly until he stopped reviving.
  • Qin Siyang saw Old Johnny still fighting the black-robed woman and learned that the tall, thin driver was dead.
  • Old Johnny told Qin Siyang to pursue the fleeing burly man, so Qin Siyang used [Feast Kingdom] to catch up and attack him.
  • The burly man tried to withstand Qin Siyang’s spear with his metallic body, but Qin Siyang’s skills weakened him and sent him crashing through trees.

Ch. 1761Godslayer Spear

Qin Siyang defeated the Burly Man and discovered that his Tier Six Long Spear could think and communicate, naming it the Godslayer Spear. After the spear insulted his achievements, Qin Siyang killed the fleeing Burly Man and headed to help Old Johnny.

  • The Burly Man survived Qin Siyang's first spear strike and recognized him as the Domain Master of the Eighth Domain who had killed Granny Hua.
  • Qin Siyang named his Tier Six Long Spear the Godslayer Spear and learned that it had long been capable of thought and speech.
  • The Godslayer Spear called Qin Siyang mediocre, prompting him to defend his rapid rise through the sequence levels.
  • The Burly Man shed his metallic skin and fled as a black wind, but Qin Siyang struck him down and destroyed his body.
  • The Godslayer Spear asked Qin Siyang to thank the dead Burly Man for the name, and Qin Siyang left to help Old Johnny.
