According to the original story's setup.
If there were no butterfly effects, Itadori and his group would only get involved in four areas.
Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Tokyo No. 2 Colony, Sendai Colony, and Sakurajima Colony.
Kinoshita chewed on bread he had stolen from a convenience store, studying the map and carefully comparing it with his surroundings.
"Where should I go?"
After Kenjaku finished casting "Idle Transfiguration" across all of Japan, the Culling Game officially began.
Kinoshita didn't want too much contact with Itadori's group. After all, he was after the thrill of battle. As long as he fought powerful jujutsu sorcerers, his rating would rise.
Then even defeating Sukuna might not be impossible...
"This should be Tokyo No. 1 Colony, right?"
With his current strength, Kinoshita could, at best, take on a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer. If he didn't want to die, he had better stay away from Hajime Kashimo and those four in Sendai.
That left only Tokyo No. 1 Colony and Sakurajima Colony.
In the future, Sakurajima would have Naoya, who had become a curse. With that nearly unbeatable domain of his, Kinoshita might end up getting caught in the crossfire.
Tokyo No. 1 Colony had a few sneaky bastards camping the spawn points, but Higuruma, the strongest there, wouldn't take the initiative to attack others.
Kinoshita wasn't being a coward. This was called sensible planning.
"Just don't let me run into that little deer."
He walked up to the barrier, and a Kogane suddenly appeared above his head.
"Yo, I'm Kogane."
Kogane looked like a cute insect. It flew around before finally settling in front of Kinoshita.
"A death match called the Culling Game is currently underway inside this barrier."
"Once you step inside, you will become a player."
"Do you still wish to enter?"
"That's right." Kinoshita firmly stepped forward with his right foot.
Spawn locations inside the barrier were random, and Kinoshita soon appeared in midair somewhere.
He first scanned his surroundings warily to avoid an ambush from any waiting jujutsu sorcerers, then immediately whipped up a parachute with the "Construction Technique."
Soon, he landed safely on the ground.
"Ah... compared to that bunch of cursed spirits in Shibuya who could all use domains, the Culling Game feels way more relaxing~" With his hands behind his head, Kinoshita strolled leisurely down the road.
Rustle, rustle...
Rustle, rustle...
He raised an eyebrow, curious about where the sound was coming from.
"Help! Is anyone there?!"
"What? The killing's starting already?" Kinoshita couldn't help grinning. "I'm fucking here for real this time!"
"I couldn't beat those special grades, but you think I can't beat some extra?"
Kinoshita immediately put on the Exoskeleton and charged toward the cries for help.
His strides were so forceful that he stomped a deep crater into the concrete.
A girl in a school uniform sat on the ground, unable to hold back her sobs. When she saw someone coming, she looked like a drowning person clutching at a lifeline.
"Save me!! There... there are so many cockroaches here!!"
Kinoshita felt a shudder run through his whole body. The cockroaches before him weren't just ordinary cockroaches.
Each was at least half a meter long, its proud Guangdong-style twin tails twitching as its mouth kept chewing.
Whenever the corpse shifted, countless little cockroaches spilled out!
"Urgh-!"
Kinoshita's expression instantly darkened. Bugs were what he feared most, and among bugs, cockroaches scared him the most!
These terrifying creatures, whose movements were impossible to predict and whose intentions were impossible to guess, were simply among the most horrifying things on Earth!
Acting purely on muscle reflex, Kinoshita scooped the girl up and leaped toward higher ground.
He glanced back, only to discover that the cockroaches could fly too. Catching the scent of blood, they abruptly spread their wings. He could even hear the sound of the largest one beating its wings!
"Eek-!"
The frightened girl huddled in Kinoshita's arms, but when she looked up, his normally rather handsome face had turned deathly pale. He looked even more scared than she was.
"Isn't this Tokyo?" Kinoshita asked the girl as he leaped between buildings.
"Huh? This is... Sendai?"
Hearing her answer, Kinoshita lost all hope. It seemed those cockroaches weren't ordinary cursed spirits, but Kurourushi's cursed energy cockroaches.
"Tch..."
Kinoshita could understand spoken Japanese perfectly, and communicating wasn't a problem either.
But he couldn't read Japanese!
This lousy system was nowhere near complete. Kinoshita couldn't read the map at all, so he had simply picked a place that looked good and gone inside.
"I should've asked someone first!"
The corner of Kinoshita's mouth twitched. As he watched the cockroaches multiply, he felt the bleak despair of a city besieged by zombies.
Kurourushi was a special grade cursed spirit Kenjaku had released because he felt the Culling Game wasn't chaotic enough. It had been born from humanity's disgust and fear of cockroaches.
Not only could Kurourushi make its cursed energy cockroaches reproduce endlessly, it could also replenish itself through them. It truly was a roach that could neither be killed nor wiped out.
Seeing the cockroaches pursuing him relentlessly, Kinoshita was terrified that Kurourushi would notice him.
"Don't be afraid," Kinoshita said, comforting the girl.
The girl blushed and nodded dazedly.
Although she really wanted to trust Kinoshita, sweat had already begun beading on his face, which hardly inspired confidence.
Kinoshita suddenly tossed the girl into the air. As she screamed, he formed a hand sign and used the "Construction Technique."
"You like eating meat, huh?"
Kinoshita immediately constructed a large quantity of pork. When the cockroaches saw the bloody meat falling before them, they quickly lost interest in him and turned to scramble madly for it.
He immediately waved his hand and constructed several more pigs, barely managing to satisfy all the cockroaches.
He caught the girl securely and fled at once.
Sendai's four kings included the special grade cursed spirit Kurourushi, whose cursed cockroaches made it practically Kinoshita's natural enemy.
Then there was the ancient sorcerer Takako Uro. Her cursed technique was called the "Sky Manipulation Technique." She was an exhibitionist who disliked wearing clothes and could pull on the sky to distort space and defend against enemy attacks.
The ancient sorcerer Dhruv Lakdawalla was an old man who had been little more than roadside fodder in the original story, but his cursed technique could move domains, which did sound powerful.
And there was the ancient sorcerer Ryu Ishigori, the strongest of Sendai's four kings. His cursed technique was "Cursed Energy Discharge," and his cursed energy output was reputedly the highest in Jujutsu Society. A single "Granita Impact" was simple and brutal.
Kinoshita sighed, while the girl looked at him hesitantly.
"Get some rest first. It's safe here for now." Kinoshita opened the window and looked outside warily.
Kurourushi had remained dormant because it was wary of Dhruv Lakdawalla.
Now it seemed that it had run into Dhruv Lakdawalla on the very first day of the Culling Game. Although some cockroaches were still foraging in small areas, they weren't everywhere.
After all, Yuta Okkotsu had entered Sendai Colony around the twelfth day of the Culling Game, and there had still been ordinary people in the colony at that point.
That delicate balance was maintained by those four.
"Wait... I've got an idea...!"
Kinoshita shut the window and slapped his forehead.
A devious idea was taking shape-
