The temple's Core Sanctum had a chalk-white base accented with gold. Its interior style was essentially the same as the Dome Cathedral's.
But the machinery lining its curved walls, along with the Artificial Angels specialized in technical support, gave the place something of a space-opera feel.
There were currently only two "living people" in the entire sanctum, making it exceptionally quiet.
At its center stood a "cockpit" connected to all manner of cables. Two figures were beside it.
One was Lilith. Her silver hair was tied in a high ponytail, and she wore a black Gothic ceremonial military uniform, looking like a classic "vampire grand duchess."
"Gil, this is your first real battle. Are you mentally prepared?"
Without transforming, however, Lilith had a pair of black feathered wings hanging naturally behind her. In this state, she looked more like a fallen angel.
Her ruby-like eyes watched Gil in the cockpit with encouragement-and a little concern.
