Ah Yin was lighting the firewood in the kitchen to refine medicine the old-fashioned way when she saw Nahida approach.
"Ah Yin, could I trouble you to grow some Blue Silver Grass for me with your Soul Power?" Nahida tilted her little face up, looking slightly embarrassed.
Asking a Blue Silver Emperor for Blue Silver Grass always felt a little like encouraging her to harm her own kind. As the Dendro Archon, Nahida felt a small prick of conscience.
"Of course."
Ah Yin did not seem particularly bothered and readily agreed.
To Ah Yin, not every random stalk of Blue Silver Grass by the roadside counted as her kin. At the very least, it had to be a Blue Silver Grass Soul Beast.
The difference between Soul Beasts and non-Soul Beasts was far greater than that between humans and dogs. Besides, the Blue Silver Grass Ah Yin grew herself was essentially just an extension of her own Soul Power.
Incidentally, because Blue Silver Grass was so weak, living for ten years did not automatically make it a Ten-Year Soul Beast. Otherwise, the roadsides would have been full of ten-year-old Blue Silver Grass Soul Beasts.
Ah Yin and Nahida went to the backyard. Ah Yin poured her Soul Power into the ground beneath her feet, and before long, a great swath of exceptionally high-quality Blue Silver Grass sprang from the earth, instantly transforming the yard into a Blue Silver Grass garden. Nurtured by the Blue Silver Emperor herself, these newborn plants already possessed vitality equal to that of wild Blue Silver Grass Soul Beasts.
"Mm! This should be enough!"
Nahida gently used Dendro power to lift the selected Blue Silver Grass out of the soil, then deftly wove it into a Blue Silver Grass bracelet. She engraved a mark on each leaf and used the vitality of Dendro power to fully stabilize its shape.
"Finished! A Blue Silver Grass storage bracelet, specially made by Lesser Lord Kusanali!"
Nahida raised it high in excitement, thoroughly pleased with her own brilliant idea.
She did not actually know any spells for creating storage spaces, so she had taken a shortcut: sealing arts.
"I've placed a special mark on every leaf of this bracelet. Each mark can seal one object with a volume smaller than one cubic unit. A leaf can only hold one object, but you can wrap several objects into a bundle and treat them as a single item. There are eighteen leaves on the bracelet."
Ah Yin's lips parted slightly. Inwardly, she could only marvel that the God of Wisdom truly lived up to her title-she could casually make a spatial item like this!
Ah Yin knew that on the Douluo Continent, only Spirit Hall seemed to retain any methods for making Storage Soul Tools. Even then, they could only produce very low-grade ones, and their annual output was extremely limited. High-grade Soul Tools were all excavated from ruins.
"The marks will only remember the first person to use them. No one else can activate them with their soul's power."
As she spoke, Nahida gently offered the newly woven Blue Silver Grass bracelet to Ah Yin.
"For me? Something this precious? Can I really accept it?" Ah Yin hesitated, her watery blue eyes filled with uncertainty.
Although it seemed simple for Nahida, this was a storage bracelet made by a god, bearing marks personally engraved by that god. In a sense, it was a divine artifact!
"It's no trouble." Seeing her hesitate, Nahida urged her to accept it, her voice light and sincere. "It was your Soul Power that grew the Blue Silver Grass, and weaving it and engraving the marks hardly took me any effort. Rather than calling it precious, I'd say it's... something the two of us made together. So please, take it."
"Thank you, Lady Nahida!" Ah Yin's cheeks flushed faintly as she obediently accepted the bracelet.
She silently resolved that she must never let Lady Nahida's kindness go unrepaid!
Afterward, Nahida continued making bracelets with her head lowered. Ah Yin watched for a while, then, seeing that she no longer seemed to be needed, returned to her medicine-making.
Nahida then made three more bracelets and a belt. The twelve-leaf bracelet was intended for Kokomi, the eighteen-leaf one for Ji Feng, and the twenty-four-leaf one for herself. Finally, the sixty-leaf Blue Silver Grass waist chain was also for herself!
Nahida very much wanted to do that, but unfortunately, she probably would not get to keep it. That sly, scheming Sangonomiya Kokomi would surely notice that she was hiding a bigger one on herself. Rather than being exposed and forced to hand it over, she might as well give it to Ji Feng of her own accord.
She could earn a little favor with him that way, too.
She had thought that after displaying such talent, she would at least receive some praise and comfort.
"Lady Nahida could clearly make these, yet she kept throwing up obstacles, saying she couldn't, couldn't, couldn't possibly do it..."
Kokomi toyed with her bracelet, her shapely legs wrapped in white stockings elegantly pressed together, angled slightly with her toes resting on the ground. Her folding fan lightly concealed the corner of her lips, while just the right touch of sorrow settled between her brows. "Her attitude doesn't seem very enthusiastic. Wouldn't you agree, my lord?"
Nahida: ...
Little Kokomi, are you sick in the head?! You'd better not fall into my hands!
Hmph! This Lesser Lord Kusanali is no harmless little innocent, either!
Nahida's body trembled slightly, and just the right amount of tears welled up in her eyes. A trace of helplessness appeared on her exquisite, delicate little face. She abruptly turned and threw herself into Ji Feng's arms, clutching his collar with her little hands. Like pear blossoms drenched in rain, she tearfully pleaded, "My lord! I worked so hard to make these for you, and now little Kokomi is saying things like that about me! Just look at her! She simply can't bear to see me doing well!"
Because Ji Feng had shared an entire dream authority with Nahida, hugging him felt to her like hugging another version of herself, so she felt no psychological distance whatsoever.
With a beauty in his arms, Ji Feng immediately let his little head rule his big head. Holding Nahida, who felt like warm jade and gave off a faint fragrance, he felt his entire body and soul being purified. He turned and scolded Kokomi, "Little Kokomi, how could you slander Nahida like that?! She's so kind and innocent-what bad intentions could she possibly have?! Hurry up and apologize! Look, you've made her cry!"
Kokomi could barely keep her expression intact. Shock covered her face, and the fan in her hand nearly fell to the floor!
This Nahida really has no shame whatsoever! I haven't even thrown myself into his arms yet!
A foolish lord blinded by lust!
From an angle Ji Feng could not see, Nahida curled her lips into a sly smile at Kokomi.
She had now figured out Ji Feng's instruction manual! Clearly, treating him as a normal human being before had been a mistake!
What part of this Nahida is innocent or kind?! Are you blind?!
Kokomi twisted the handle of her fan hard. For a moment, she was tempted to throw herself into his arms as well. She did not believe her charms would lose to Lesser Lord Kusanali's. No matter how one looked at it, Nahida was just a little girl-how could she compare to a graceful young woman like herself? After wrestling with the idea repeatedly, she ultimately could not cast aside her dignity. She merely gave a petulant huff, unwilling to bother with either of them.
"I can't be bothered with you two!"
With that, little Kokomi lightly pivoted on her white-stockinged legs, her skirt lifting slightly as she walked outside.
"Hey, hey, hey! Little Kokomi, where are you going?!" Ji Feng hastily tried to stop her.
"To clear my head! Go drown in your Nahida's embrace!"
Seeing Kokomi leave without looking back, Nahida had an idea and struck while the iron was hot, offering advice dripping with false sweetness. "My lord! Although little Kokomi is always sowing discord, her loyalty is beyond question. I was at fault earlier too, so please forgive her! Don't start disliking little Kokomi over this!"
"Ah, Nahida! How can you be so gentle and kind?! Kokomi really ought to learn some morals from you," Ji Feng said with heartfelt admiration.
Nahida gave another sweet smile. "It's all right. Let Kokomi clear her head for a while. I'll assist you in the meantime, my lord!"
Just then, a clear, gentle female voice suddenly sounded behind him.
"Come to think of it, I worship Lady Nahida, and since little brother Ji Feng is also Lady Nahida, naturally, I should take good care of you too, to repay her kindness."
A warm, soft body suddenly leaned against him from behind. Ji Feng looked up and saw Ah Yin's refined, tenderly beautiful face. Meanwhile, the full, rounded, springy softness of her breasts pressed squarely against the back of his head.
Faced with such an enormous argument, Ji Feng fell at once. He stared at Ah Yin without blinking, feeling a little deer running wild in his heart and a powerful urge to pin her beneath him. Ah Yin gazed warmly back at him, an almost imperceptible glimmer of something unusual flashing through her beautiful eyes.
At that very moment, a yellow exclamation mark popped up over Ah Yin's head?!
Primogems!
Ji Feng instantly found himself unable to look away from the yellow exclamation mark! Another quest! Ah Yin really was his lucky star-she had just given him Kokomi, and now she was giving him even more!
I must win Ah Yin over immediately!
No!
I must helpfully fulfill Ah Yin's wish!
