Tang Hao stared blankly at the phantom behind Su Bai, rooted to the spot. His mouth fell wide open, and two streams of tears ran from the corners of his eyes.
"Ah Yin... Ah Yin?!"
"You bastard, what have you done? Why is Ah Yin behind you?"
At his words, Su Bai sneered and withdrew Ah Yin again.
When Ah Yin's phantom vanished, Tang Hao all but lost his mind. "Why... I protected you so well. What the hell is going on?"
"Give Ah Yin back to me!"
The disgust in Su Bai's eyes deepened at those words. He had never imagined Tang Hao could be so shameless.
"Protected her well?"
"You locked Ah Yin in a cave where she never saw sunlight, and you call that protection?"
"You knew she was the Blue Silver Emperor, yet you sealed her away. What kind of bullshit protection is that?"
Hearing this, Tang Hao fell to his knees with a thud.
"What do you know?!"
"Only by doing that could I keep Ah Yin alive. Most importantly, I had to protect little San!"
"What if someone noticed her after she revived? If Spirit Hall came hunting us down, wouldn't we be the two who suffered?"
Under that tremendous shock, Tang Hao finally spoke his true thoughts.
The moment he finished, he slapped himself across the face, seemingly regretting it.
Whether he regretted revealing the truth or locking Ah Yin away was unclear.
Xiao Wu looked at Tang Hao ahead of them, her eyes likewise filled with disgust.
He truly was Tang San's father. She had thought Tang San was outrageous enough, but Tang Hao turned out to be even more revolting!
When Tang Hao had hunted her, she had not felt much about it, merely blaming her bad luck for meeting the wrong person.
But now that she had heard about Tang Hao and Ah Yin, even though she knew only a tiny fraction of the story rather than the whole truth, it was enough to fill Xiao Wu with loathing.
"So you wanted me to sacrifice myself for your Tang Family, just like that Ah Yin?"
"And you had the nerve to spout that nonsense about the difference between soul beasts and humans!"
Xiao Wu snorted coldly, having seen straight through Tang Hao's hypocrisy.
Tang Hao felt as though lightning had struck his mind. Then he abruptly rose, the Clear Sky Hammer swelling continuously as he unleashed his Tool Spirit Avatar.
"You bastard."
He spat out each word, nearly grinding his teeth to pieces as he glared at Su Bai with wide eyes.
"I wondered how Ah Yin could have disappeared. So it was all because of you!"
"As long as I kill you, Ah Yin will come back, and so will little San's soul bone!"
As his words fell, Su Bai shook his head.
"To think what you value most isn't your wife, but a soul bone."
"No wonder you could do something as vile as imprisoning your own wife."
Those two remarks only enraged Tang Hao further, and he roared, "Shut up!"
"What could a wet-behind-the-ears brat like you possibly understand?"
"I'll kill you and get my Ah Yin back!"
"Give me back Ah Yin!"
With those words, Tang Hao closed in, bringing the enormous Clear Sky Hammer crashing down with boundless force.
Terrifying gusts howled, whipping Xiao Wu's hair about. She leaned against Su Bai's chest and closed her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Su Bai. I dragged you into this."
"Thank you for being unlike him, for letting me experience the good in humanity."
She had already accepted her fate. In Xiao Wu's eyes, neither of them could possibly survive that terrifying blow.
Su Bai's soul power was nearly exhausted, leaving him unable to teleport. How could he possibly withstand such a terrifying blow on his own?
"Don't be afraid."
Su Bai murmured those words, and Xiao Wu vanished at once.
As a soul spirit, she could be drawn into the Spirit Pagoda by Su Bai at any time.
Inside the Spirit Pagoda, Xiao Wu's face was filled with anxiety.
"Let me out, Su Bai! Even if we die, we have to die together."
"Don't make me watch you die... please."
Yet as Su Bai watched the Clear Sky Hammer bearing down from above, his expression showed not the slightest panic. Instead, he was utterly confident.
"Don't talk like that."
At the same time, he cursed inwardly.
Damn it, why does this old geezer always wait until the last moment to act?
Sure enough, the people of Spirit Hall just aren't reliable.
Indeed, Su Bai had already made preparations before coming here.
Who was Tang Hao?
A Titled Douluo, hailed as the continent's foremost strength-type Soul Master.
At the same time, he had another, even more important identity.
Spirit Hall's enemy, the murderer Qian Daoliu was hunting!
That was also why Tang Hao had never dared to show his face in public, only hiding in the shadows.
He was afraid the people of Spirit Hall would discover him!
So, after realizing that Xiao Wu might be in trouble, Su Bai had immediately gone to Spirit Hall.
He had not even needed to say much. All he had to do was mention Tang Hao's name.
The people of Spirit Hall had reported it to their superiors as though they had heard something earth-shattering.
In everyone else's eyes, Tang Hao was the murderer who had killed Spirit Hall's Previous Pope. Now that he had suddenly appeared, Spirit Hall had every reason to investigate.
But the situation was urgent, and Su Bai did not trust the people of Spirit Hall, so he had chosen not to come with them. Instead, he had used repeated teleportation to lure Tang Hao into Spirit Hall's encirclement.
Boom!
A tremendous crash suddenly rang out, and the Clear Sky Hammer was violently knocked away.
"What?"
Tang Hao's eyes widened sharply as he looked into the distance.
Several people from Spirit Hall slowly emerged.
"Chrysanthemum Douluo? Ghost Douluo?"
Tang Hao's expression darkened as he stared at the two figures blocking Su Bai, his eyes blood-red.
"Do you two think you can stand against me now?"
"You and those small fry behind you are still no match for me!"
"If you know what's good for you, get lost. He shouldn't have anything to do with your Spirit Hall, should he? I only want him dead!"
By now, anger had completely clouded his mind. He had not even noticed that Xiao Wu had disappeared. Only one thought filled his head.
Kill Su Bai!
Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo were both elders of Spirit Hall, renowned throughout the Douluo Continent. Even among Titled Douluos, they were by no means weak.
Yet the two of them still fell somewhat short before Tang Hao.
His title as the continent's foremost strength-type Soul Master was no empty boast!
Yue Guan and Gui Mei exchanged a glance, smiles appearing on their faces.
"Tang Hao, the two of us are indeed no match for you."
"But... who said we were the only two who came today?"
"We were merely passing by this time. Someone else is here to see you."
Hearing their words, Tang Hao calmed down a little, a bad feeling rising in his heart.
"Who?"
No sooner had he asked than an aged voice rang out.
"Me!"
Tang Hao's eyes widened sharply, and he turned to look.
The newcomer was none other than Spirit Hall's Great Enshrined, the Level 99 Limit Douluo, Qian Daoliu!
Qian Daoliu looked at Tang Hao and slowly spoke.
"You demanded that someone give you back your Ah Yin?"
"Then my son..."
"Who will give him back?!"
