Background / History
Ah Yin was Tang Hao’s wife and Tang San’s mother. During Spirit Hall’s pursuit, she sacrificed herself, providing Tang Hao with a hundred-thousand-year soul ring and a soul bone. Her Blue Silver Emperor vitality prevented complete annihilation, leaving a small plant and a fragment of consciousness 2 8 24 25.
Tang Hao subsequently confined her in a dark location without sunlight. He later claimed this kept her alive and protected Tang San from renewed Spirit Hall pursuit. Su Bai considered the deprivation responsible for her prolonged failure to recover; his suspicion that Tang Hao deliberately arranged her sacrifice remains his interpretation rather than an established confession 2 26.
Su Bai waited until Tang Hao was occupied protecting Tang San’s first soul-ring hunt, then obtained Ah Yin’s potted remnant. At Nuoding Academy, he placed her beside a sunny window and offered daily sunlight in exchange for a contract. She agreed, disappeared from the pot, and became the Spirit Pagoda’s first soul spirit 1 2.
Six years later, Su Bai revealed her phantom during his confrontation with Tang Hao. Recognizing her, Tang Hao demanded her return and admitted his reasons for confining her. After Su Bai withdrew the phantom, Tang Hao attacked, believing that killing him would recover both Ah Yin and the soul bone he associated with Tang San 9 25 26.
Appearance
- Plant form: Blue Silver Grass with golden veins, initially kept in a flowerpot. During early recovery, the markings are so faint that Su Bai’s manifested Blue Silver Emperor resembles ordinary grass 2.
- Mental-space form: An exquisitely beautiful, blue-haired young woman with a voluptuous figure, seen sleeping after the contract 2.
- Pagoda representation: A grass-shaped plant rotates within the first floor’s blue-and-gold light 17.
- Phantom: Su Bai can display her likeness behind him; Tang Hao immediately recognizes her 25 26.
Personality
Her early dialogue reflects severely diminished consciousness rather than a fully expressed personality. She repeatedly asks for light, responds joyfully to sunlight, thanks Su Bai, and readily accepts his promise of daily exposure. The provided appearances do not establish her later views on Tang Hao, Tang San, or the contract 2 25 26.
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Emperor Vitality
- Survival: Her hundred-thousand-year nature allows a remnant of body and consciousness to survive an otherwise annihilating sacrifice 2.
- Recovery: Sunlight rapidly stimulates growth; the Spirit Pagoda subsequently nurtures her soul over several years 2 9.
- Feedback to Su Bai: Supplies tremendous vitality, accelerating his physical growth and soul-power development while strengthening his body and senses 6 9 12.
- Limit: She remains too badly injured for Su Bai to release her as an independent fighter when explaining the contract to Xiao Wu 17.
Growth
The first skill initially granted by Ah Yin’s soul spirit 2.
- Increases Blue Silver Emperor growth speed by 100% and permits control of individual plants 2.
- Enables durable restraints and precise vine manipulation; Su Bai uses them to overpower and sever Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass 4.
- After Xiao Wu’s contract, Soft Bone Growth increases growth speed by 200% and toughness by 100% 18.
Vitality
The second skill initially granted by Ah Yin’s soul spirit 2.
- Allows Blue Silver Emperor seeds to sprout anywhere, including on an opponent’s body or clothing 2 5 10.
- Creates unexpected restraints without requiring vines to approach from the ground 5 10.
- After Xiao Wu’s contract, also increases seed growth speed by 100% 18.
Later Blue Silver Emperor Techniques
These are demonstrated by Su Bai through the contracted martial soul; they are not shown as independent actions by Ah Yin.
- Blue Silver Armor: Encloses his entire body in protective grass, withstands Dai Mubai’s attacks, rapidly repairs damage, and increases his strength 11 23.
- Incarnation: Transforms his body into the Blue Silver Emperor for two hours. Its vitality lets him endure Dugu Bo’s poisonous mist while hiding as grass 20.
- Teleportation synergy: Xiao Wu’s contract lets him teleport to controlled Blue Silver Emperor plants within fifty meters. This mobility is acquired through Xiao Wu, not Ah Yin alone 18 19.
- Offensive limitation: The Blue Silver Emperor excels in life and defense but lacks the attack power Su Bai seeks for later contracts 21 23.
Relationships
- Su Bai — Contract partner. He restores her access to sunlight and provides recovery through the Spirit Pagoda; she supplies his first martial-soul transformation, skills, and vitality 2 6 9.
- Tang Hao — Husband and beneficiary of her sacrifice. He mourns her but confines her without sunlight, later defending that choice as protection for her and Tang San. Discovering her connection to Su Bai provokes his demand for her return 2 24 25 26.
- Tang San — Son. Tang Hao hopes he will eventually avenge her; Su Bai’s contract with his mother becomes an additional source of danger behind their rivalry 2 7 8.
- Xiao Wu — Fellow contracted soul spirit. Her contract enhances the Blue Silver Emperor’s abilities, and learning about Ah Yin’s confinement leads her to condemn Tang Hao’s treatment of soul beasts 18 26.

Trivia
- Ah Yin’s contract nourishes and evolves the Spirit Pagoda, enabling contracts with human-form soul beasts and allowing contracted spirits to move outside it 16 17.
- The phrase “Mother’s Entanglement” refers to Su Bai defeating Tang San with power borrowed from Tang San’s own mother—not to a separately documented skill used by Ah Yin 3 4 17.
