When the light faded, Vegeta was nowhere to be seen.

Raditz was stunned. He had never expected Vegeta to lose to his younger brother.
"H-how is this possible?" He looked around but found no trace of Vegeta, crying out in bewilderment.
"Goku!"
"Yes! We won!"
Krillin and the others, by contrast, flew over with delight written across their faces.
Piccolo, who had been using his Giant Form, slowly returned to normal and flew over to Son Goku with the others.
"Goku, you're incredible! You can actually use Kaioken times ten! That was amazing!"
Yamcha smiled and patted Son Goku on the shoulder, only to make him cry out in pain.
"Yamcha, g-gently!"
"Sorry!"
"It's okay."
Son Goku clenched his fist, then raised his head to look at the sky, his voice trembling. "But you'd better get out of here quickly. That guy won't admit defeat so easily."
"What?"
Everyone looked up at his words and realized that Vegeta's presence was still there, high in the sky!
